I went in with a photo of what I was looking to build, and got help across all parts of the project from a very knowledgeable, professional and nice person. I believe I heard his name is Paul. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful answering questions. I've gone several times for small home projects and they direct me to the correct material and quickly cut everything to size.

WOW. Firstly, service is top notch. Secondly, they had exactly what I wanted in several choices AND loaded it into my Beast for me Thank you. I shall return!

Beware when purchasing cedar wood from Rittenhouse Lumber & Millwork. They have received “sub-quality” planks and a few of the workers had no problems selling them. When returning 4 few pieces, the clerk was not happy that we were sold these bad planks. When needing more for the client’s project, again 2 of the workers tried to sell sub-quality items and thought it was funny when pointing out the bad wood. Cedar is difficult to obtain, and the prices are through the roof. BEWARE and check each item before you purchase.

Excellent! Great service from the workers when I needed some lumber cut to size. It was done in less than a week, and it was perfect. Uniformity was really important for my project, and they got it done exactly how I needed. You pay a small business price for it, but it was 1000% worth it. I would go back for all of my lumber needs.

Rittenhouse sells quality lumber and has a huge selection. I’m restoring a 1700’s house and often need unusual mouldings or simply have a project idea and Rittenhouse always has what I need! Some things may appear pricier than at the big box stores, but you get what you pay for. The 2x4s from Rittenhouse are beautiful and straight compared to the questionable-at-best selection at Home Depot. They also carry solid wood T&G beadboard in varying thicknesses which has been great for a wainscoting project I completed.

They have the most beautiful 2 by 4s I've ever seen. Very friendly, very professional, very polite staff!

Great local lumber and millwork supply house. Great prices on trim, better than Lowe's and Home depot. Better quality products for the rest of it. I wish they carried a bit more so I could get more of my construction materials there.

Needed hanging rail, a milled intermediate stop, and bead board. That had all of it plus a dead bolt for the front door.

Waited 2 weeks with an in person visit, and 4 phone calls for a cut list on a bit of walnut for making a chirstmas gift for my father and still couldn't make things work. Was told to wait until the next week multiple times. I heard good things about this lumber yard but I can't help needing to go to another lumber yard.

One of the best lumber yards left in the Philadelphia area. Professional and friendly staff. Milled some lumber for a project. Prices are good for the quality of lumber offering. I highly recommend this lumber yard.

I had the guys custom cut my lumber for a home renovation project to build a murphy bed. I give Rittenhouse my highest rating. Their laser cuts were perfect down to the 16th of an inch. In addition they chose the best pieces of wood for the project - literally beautiful and straight pieces. I am a novice at cabinet making etc. and I had zero issues on this project. Don't debate it - just go to these guys if you have a custom project.

I bought some framing lumber and was very impressed with the quality. The 2"x4"x8' boards I bought were straight, square, nicely milled, and consistently sized. It's a huge difference compared to the budget lumber at the big box stores, and saves a ton of time when you can measure, cut, and have everything actually line up. Delivery is also much cheaper if you're local, and they have a small van that can get places a big flatbed can't. Manufactured stuff like MDF and OSB is cheaper elsewhere, but the lumber alone makes it worth shopping here.

I've shopped here many times for work. As a carpenter, I appreciate how friendly and knowledgeable they are. It is a great place for professionals and homeowners alike. They are slightly more expensive than Home Depot, but you are getting to talk with a person right away who is not avoidant and actually wants to help you. Well worth it!

I go here for untreated cedar boards for my raised bed gardens. The price seems fair. Close to home. Rather support a local business than go to a big box store. Way better selection of better quality lumber here too. The customer service is always pleasant.

Extremely helpful staff and their 2x4's are gorgeous, i'm not kidding, straight and clear, almost a shame to hide them in a wall.
