Great prices. I have taken 4 motorcycle heads recently to his shop that needed work. Some needed boring and milling. A few times I took stuff their for free friendly advise. The advise saved me a lot of time and money. He saved me few bucks by telling me work that did not to be done and what parts to order so I could do it myself. I have also taken other car engine parts that needed repair. I would highly recommend Ecam racing to others.

I am a local mechanic in the process of rebuilding my own truck engine and noticed that a valve was seated funny. Brought it in to ECAM to see Joe and he quickly pointed out where the head had a hairline crack between the valves. He was very honest and told me where to go get the best deal on remanufactured cylinder heads. He made $0 off me and was completely honest. Based on this interaction alone our shop will use and recommend him for any future machining work. Thanks Joe! Your honesty and notice for detail saved me some headaches in the long run.

My father owns this business.he has been in business for himself for over 40 years. He also encourages customers to come in and witness every step of the process. As a professional in the industry he has built engines with some of the most hp per cubic in. In my personal opinion I advise you to go in and meet him, question him and make your own determination on who you want to do your work. I promise you won’t be disappointed. Reviews can be very helpful at times BUT we all know some people are just not honest and truthful about the whole situation.

If you have Joe build an engine for you, make sure you set aside more money for someone else to rebuild it right. I read the one star reviews and didn’t think he could really be that bad, but rest assured this guy has to be one of the biggest con men in motorsports. Joe, you built me a time bomb of an engine and it wasn’t home a day before I took it to someone else to be rebuilt. I can’t believe you can fall asleep at night knowing how badly you take advantage of people. The things you overlooked while assembling my engine can only be blamed on pure carelessness. They weren’t mistakes, they were problems you purposefully overlooked, hoping I wouldn’t know any better. Avoid this guy at all costs.

I do not recommend this guy he's unprofessional I took motor to him to get a complete rebuild after somebody else messed it up I told him da car was cammed by the last person who touch it he said wen he opened the motor it was still all factory he charged me $6600 to rebuilt my motor which my lifter went bad da moment I turned the car on he said da dealer mite of sent a faulty lifter 500 miles into driving my push rod completely snapped in half cause it wasn't properly put on fixed dat 1000 miles into driving now my valve seals r bad and this was suppose to be a complete rebuilt with everything new I call him and he has an excuse for everything oh and also he told me my motor was done I got there and he said I'm da wrong person he has another 6.4 motor in there he thought it was mine and my name is hector with the Chrysler 300 just in case he sees this he knows exactly who is leaving this review

I would not recommend this business to no one. Joe is not a man of his words so do not let him fool you, he sent my cylinder head out to a machine shop and it took 3months to get them back from the guy and they were completely dismantle. I gave him a deposit of $1000 in December and didn't get my unfinished motor back from him until the beginning of July! Please don't let him mislead you with slick talking and empty promises

Called and met Joe early March 2022 with my pristine 1985 Corvette and I wanted a new or rebuilt engine. He suggested rebuilt, told me that he does it better than a typical rebuilder, gave $1000 deposit and 2 weeks later remaining $2000 - he recommended an installer. 1 week later i learned the engine was not rebuilt correctly. Took back to Joe, who told me to call the camshaft builder - he was unwilling to back his "guarantee!" After much ado he finally agreed to rebuild the rebuild, and today - almost 2 months later) just picked the car up and the rebuild AGAIN is bad - and he's NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY. His behavior is despicable. HAPPY TO TALK DIRECTLY. Herb Cohen p.s. visit his shop -it's disorganized, uncompleted projects from years ago, dirty - and the local installers ALL tell me that he has a bad reputation except for the simple machining - not rebuilding.

He’s a con man check everything he puts in your engine. You’ll pay for better parts and he will give you junk.

Needed a few transfer case bearings pressed in for my 5 speed suby and the owner (didn't get his name) sorted it for me. I'm very grateful because I was turned away by a few other shops. Cash only

I walked in being a service tech from a separate proprietor and even though I'm a competitor in full uniform I asked if they might've had a bolt I could not locate anywhere else and the gentleman kindly invited me into their shop even though they were terribly busy cleaning up from the day and repairing engines he allowed me to take a few bolts I needed to complete my own work order it was a heavensend God bless and good graces thank you very much unfortunately I am not equiped with certain machinery and equient but they were still pleasant polite and quite helpful it is very much appreciated

Did a beautiful job with my junkyard flywheel. Made it look new for a good price and with quick turnaround.

Joe went above and beyond to machine bushings that I couldn't buy, after every parts shop said they couldn't help me the boys down at ecam came through. Highly recommend

Had them clean/dip an engine block off my 1950 truck I'm rebuilding. They called me to let me know it was ready a couple of weeks later, I said I'd be in. Mean time I went in the hospital and didn't get right in. 5 weeks after they call I stop in to pay and get the motor. They say it's been to long. They scrapped it! They said they could call the Scrapper and see if they could buy it back. The engine is a 1950 nailhead which I can't get anywhere else and all the parts so I had to. So in the end I had to pay for the dipping and to buy back my own engine from the scrapper. When I got the engine back parts were missing and it was never actually cleaned right there was stuff all in the corners.

Not too impressed. Attention to detail certainly is not high on their priority list. Joe seems like a really nice guy and he is very easy to talk with but the valve job, valve guide installation, and cylinder head resurfacing were far from a quality job. Highly disappointed. For people with a quality and detail oriented mind set, this is not the place to take you engine to. You will probably be disappointed with the end result. It's also a cash only business. Enough said.

Last year i went to e-cam to find and build me a 455 500 horsepower engine for my pontiac lemans sport everything was going fine then one day Joe called me and asked me if i wanted to buy a set of edelbrock aluminum 87 cc heads he said it would give the engine a wow factor so i said yes the engine got complete and i asked Joe for a build sheet which he supplied dual plane intake, arp head bolts, scorpion 1.5 roller rockers, comp cam and lifters, hardened intake and exhaust pushrods, speed pro hyper eutectic aluminum pistons, hastings moly piston rings, 11 to 1 compression so then i asked Joe to be there when my mechanic first started the engine which he was and everything was fine did the break in that Joe told me to do and told me to wait for 1500 miles before i gave it to the dyno guy to see if we achieved our goal of 500 horsepower which we did not it came up with 440 at the engine and 330 at the rear wheels so i was going to live with it until 2 weeks later when i started to get blow by so i took car down to Joe to look at and he said he wanted to do a pressure and leak down test which he said it passed so he told me it was probably wash out or the rings weren't seated so he told me to take it for a long ride which i did and during this ride i blew a rear main seal at this time i called him and he said i only had a 5000.00 budget which by the way if i did why would i buy a set of 2500 heads .So after arguing on the phone i decided to write a review on this website and after 1 hour he called me and told me he said he would fix engine for free which he should because the engine did not have 11 to 1 compression he put aluminum pistons under a 87 cc head which should have been forged pistons. So i agreed to let him fix his mistake which he did the 2nd engine build he used forged pistons put a bigger cam in it which i payed for and also he cut the crank so we did reach our goal the 2nd time around which cost me money to have car towed and take and put engine back in and buy a larger cam so this time around i only had to wait untill 300 miles to take it to dyno guy and the results where 10 to 1 compression 540 horsepower at the engine and 410 at the rear wheels. My opinion of this shop is why not build the engine right the first time and avoid doing it again and costing the shop and the customer more money.
