DO NOT GO TO THIS AUTOZONE — Especially if you’re a young woman trying to take care of your car. Today I had one of the most humiliating, infuriating experiences at the AutoZone in Bala-Cynwyd, Pennsylvania — and I say that as someone who simply walked in to buy some coolant. I came alone, just trying to do the responsible thing by picking up some basic maintenance supplies for my car. I was approached by two AutoZone employees who, under the guise of being “helpful,” led me into a scam. These men sold me a coolant that was FOUR TIMES the price of what I actually needed. They confidently assured me this was the only option for my vehicle and went so far as to follow me outside to continue the pressure — insisting I’d need to spend hundreds of dollars to get my system “drained” to accommodate this $25 coolant. When I asked them directly if they had the universal coolant that my car currently had, they said they didn't sell it. This was a lie as they obviously had it sitting at the front of the store, but took advantage of the situation. I went next door to Firestone just to double-check (thankfully, and the mechanic there — a real professional — confirmed what I suspected: they were blatantly ripping me off. All I needed was a $4 universal coolant. That’s it. No draining, no extra labor, no drama. So I went back into AutoZone and was greeted with laughter and snickering. And let me just say this: I’d be even more shaken by this experience if I wasn’t painfully aware that they got a kick out of trying to take advantage of me. But this is bigger than one bad purchase. This is about a toxic culture where young women are routinely taken advantage of the moment they step foot in a car-related space alone. I’m trying to learn, and instead I walked into a predatory environment staffed by people who thought they could pull a fast one on me because of my age and gender. If you’re reading this and thinking of shopping here — don’t. Go somewhere where the staff respects you, where they aren’t smirking behind your back and calling you "sweetie", pretending they don't understand why you are upset that an hour of your life was just wasted so they could make $25 and where they don’t treat your lack of experience as a sales opportunity.

I needed a replacement for my daughter’s auto windshield wiper, on an auto unfamiliar to me . The young woman at the cash register offered to help. She was very knowledgeable, asked some simple questions, chose a reasonably priced wiper, then walked with us to the car and showed us how to put it on.

I was just here and got the cops called on me for trespassing because I asked for the cooperate number because I just recently bought a battery for my motorcycle which it did not even crank my bike over. I had the battery charged at my house and it wouldn’t hold a charge kept coming up bad battery. The battery is under warranty and guy wouldn’t let me exchange it he said because the battery was installed but that doesn’t make any sense because how else would a person know if the battery was bad if it was never installed

My brakes were bad. I am two hours from home. It’s pouring. And it’s 40°. Am I asked were for tools. One single jack. I offered my ID and was rejected. Left to wait till around after five customers had been willing to give me one. My local auto zone would never do this. The only employer that helped is the one who drives the crown Victoria.

Came here late an hour before closing on a Sunday because I had a battery emergency and had work at 6 AM the next morning. Nala promptly answered my phone call and was able to have a battery ready for me when I got there. Even though it was close to closing, she still took the time to check that my battery was indeed bad and needed to be changed and not just charged. She then installed it all by herself for me. She was kind, professional, impressively fast, and definitely knows her way around a car!! I’d trust her anytime and I’ll be recommending her to anyone else needing auto services!!! Nala, thank you SO MUCH!

AMAZING! My car had died on the way back home. Figured I needed a battery. I got a jump and headed over to this Autozone where Nyla F greeted me! She was super helpful, going out to my car to inspect and find the right battery for me. She insisted on installing it herself for me. I could not ask for a better experience here. Nyla, U ROCK!!!

I had an AMAZING EXPERIENCE !!! I went in not knowing exactly what antifreeze I needed and Nyla F helped me with everything!! She looked up my car and was able to tell me the type I needed, then she even showed me how to put the antifreeze in my car myself. She was so so helpful and made my experience !!! Sadre jockson is incredible, my battery died my alternator died and I walked and she was so happy and her smile made my day when I was kind of losing it lol.. she saved the alternator for me and did a switch out on my battery I bought there two days ago. She really needs to be acknowledged. An incredible employee for auto zone, I wont go to another auto because how helpful and courteous just genuinely an awesome person. I went in to get a battery and I left with a battery and in tears. On Sunday (5/5) I went to this AutoZone after my car battery completely died, soaked from jump starting my car in the rain. I am not very knowledgeable on cars and so when I walked in I asked the two female workers to help me find the right car battery (since I know they have the data base to tell me which one I needed). The one female worker (the one with dread locks) looked at me and “just google it”. After I told her that I have and there are so many options I just don’t know which one is the right one , she said “just look it up on YouTube” in the most snarkiest, meanest tone I have ever heard. I have never been spoken in such disrespect in my life and so I walked towards the battery section in shock, frantically looking online what battery would suite my car. Thankfully the other female worker (has brownish red hair) came up to me and offered me help. She helped me look up all of the options on her computer and guided me to the right battery. I would give her 10/5 stars if I could because she was so sweet after that horrible interaction with her coworker. I was still in just such shock after I left by how mean the one worker with the dreads was that I burst into tears right after and I don’t think I can ever go back.

Staff has been on point since they opened, they answer all calls and very helpful with any questions that I had. I've had a battery installed and tire inspected for it to be plugged. No complaints thus far 👌🏽 😌

Came in for a battery and figured I'd get wiper blades while I was there. Asked for help showing me which ones to buy. He pointed to the isle and said something... I was confused and went to the isle, trying to figure out what he meant. Then said to myself, if he doesn't want to help, I'll get wipers elsewhere. So I got my battery and left about $60 worth of wipers on the shelf. If I wasn't dead on the side of the road, I probably would have gotten the battery somewhere where your business is appreciated.

Professionalism at it's best. My deep and sincere thanks to Mr. Deno and his amazing Professional team. My car battery died in the middle of a busy traffic. Got towed and the frustration of not knowing that a repair shop I know don't work on weekends. I walk into this auto zone branch on city line and I got greeted immediately by the store manager. I expressed my concern to my car and what was needed. He and his team without hesitation jumped into action and assisted me in getting me to my car and changed my old car battery and replaced the new one. Also was told my car needs coolant immediately when they checked it. A team member took to his knowledge and help in filling my car coolant tank. My car was back to life like never before. I will highly recommend this branch of AutoZone to the general public. Thank you so so much Mr. Deno and your team who are vicious in providing excellence in their work. Thank you.

Samir and Tariq were very helpful with getting my battery replaced. Samir tested the battery and explained the reason why it was bad and Tariq was very helpful with making sure I had a warranty for my battery in the system. Samir then put the battery in for me and greased it as well. A+ customer service!

The guy I spoke with his name is deno, very respectful &&& patient. I was trying to figure out the right part for my car and he actually took the time to look into everything for me. He asked me to come into store for better help but he was able to help me over the phone, great customer service. I will come to this store for now on.

This AutoZone needs 10 Stars! My battery was dead and I had no way to get a battery home from their shop.The store manager, Deno was incredible! Deno drove over in his personal car and put a new fully charged battery in. I followed him back to the store and then paid for my new battery. They even deduct for taking your old battery off your hands! I’m really grateful to have called the right store!
