What an incredible experience...which seems odd when talking about car maintenance. My point...nice to find honest, hard working, intelligent people that give it to you straight. I would recommend this place ANYONE! Thank you Thank you THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

I brought my Nissan Rogue in because the parking brake wasn’t working properly after another shop replaced the parking brake shoes. That shop told me all three parking brake cables needed to be replaced — which didn’t sit right with me, especially since they only worked on the rear shoes. I decided to get a second opinion, and I’m so glad I met Kevin at Bala. Kevin gave me a much more reasonable diagnosis and quote, saying only one cable needed to be replaced — which made far more sense. He then fixed the issue after a follow-up appointment and walked me through everything in detail. He even drew a diagram to show how the previous shop altered parts to force a fit, which in turn made it difficult to install the new cable correctly. His explanation was incredibly thorough and honest, and I really appreciate his patience. Fixing a car can be frustrating — I’ve often felt like a walking wallet at other shops — but Bala is different. Kevin was respectful, transparent, and clearly takes pride in doing the job right. I just wish I had come here sooner. Highly recommend!

Just called to see if they had time to get my alternator replaced and Val just said “I don’t” and hung up. Didn’t offer me an available time frame or nothing…. Just hung up. Would give zero stars if i could

My clutch in my 17 Forester was shot. I called around, and after speaking to Kevin on the phone, was positive that here was where I wanted to bring my car. From our first interaction, it was clear that he was very attentive, and offered to start working on my car that very day. Prices for the clutch replacement were super reasonable, and Kevin thoroughly explained everything that needed to be done, and why. I had my car back less than 24 hours later. I will be returning!

Someone at Temple referred us to this place and they were fair, decent and fast. I’m grateful that my student found an honest place to help with her car. It’s a huge relief for her worry wort mother 2000 miles away! Thank you !

I would give 10 stars if I could. Kevin is a great mechanic and a great person. I have trusted all my cars to him for many years. He's fairly priced for the area, absolutely honest, and never pushes for a job.

Kevin was very friendly and honest. Originally I asked for a quote to get the front and rear brakes replaced, after inspecting they said I didn’t need the rears and saved me half the cost. I called ahead, they gave me same service with no issues.

This place is a hidden gem. Took my car down for maintenance in the morning and got it back in the afternoon. Kevin was communicative throughout the day and explained what needed to be repaired and the costs associated with each repair. Highly recommend.

Kevin is awesome and does a great job and has checked and fixed things without charging me b/c he is a good dude and I have been a loyal customer. They are honest and won't overcharge like other shops or dealerships. Worth it for the piece of mind alone!

Every single staff member I've interacted with has been nothing but honest and caring for not just my car but my safety. I have on multiple occasions asked for help and they have gone above and beyond to help me! I would 100% recommend them :)

Professional and friendly service. Dropped my car in for state inspection, was done very quickly. Call ahead and schedule an appointment. They also pointed out some of the issues I have with my tires. I would highly recommend them.

Best shop in town by far. They've helped me get my vehicle repaired and up and running for an affordable price, told me what I needed and what could wait, and were honest with me every step of the way. I've had some other mechanics try and sell me on things I didn't need and it was a breath of fresh air walking into this place feelin like I was really taken care of. Very nice guys too. They've fixed flat tires for me when I needed it and are flexible and accommodating. Long as I'm living in the area, I wouldn't go anywhere else. 10/10 would recommend!

Top notch. Very honest and won’t con you into doing work that is not necessary. Takes the time to really explain what is going on with your vehicle in detail and in a way you can understand. Went above and beyond making sure my vehicle was safe unrelated to what I went in there for. Best prices out of all the shops I checked in the area. Thank you!

We had a broken exhaust pipe, car became disabled. We are out of staters and were in the area visiting, took it in for a repair...they immediately put it up on the lift and made the repair for us. Within an hour we were on our way. Great guys, honest work and really cared about the car. Would definitely recommend instead of those big chain garages.

I took my 2005 Prius into Bala Garage because it was making an awful growling noice while driving. Kevin quickly identified the bearing issue and fixed it within a day for much less than the local Toyota dealership was charging. Car is running great now. Thanks!

Neil, Jake, and the whole crew at Bala Cynwyd Auto Repair are top-notch! I go to this shop for all of my auto service needs! From routine inspections to big jobs, these guys are honest, efficient, and experienced. Prices are reasonable and there aren't any hidden charges or anything like that. My Mustang is incredibly important to me and these are the only guys I trust to work on it!

Great service. They'll do their best to fit you in for routine service/maintenance. If it's a bigger job they'll assess and give a fair estimate and let you know when the work will be done. Love this place.

I went here because they had really good reviews on google. I showed up and explained to them that my car had just shut off while I was driving down the road. They said they would look at it but the next day called and said nothing was wrong with my car. A few days later I took it out and the same thing happened. I had to be towed to the shop and they said they would look into it again. They fixed something but essentially told me they had no idea if that fixed the problem or not. None of that was what upset me, though. It was the fact that they left a part in the BACK OF MY CAR (it was covered in grease and dirt which stained my car seat), after knowing that I had to leave work early just to make it to the shop in time and also had to spend $20 in ubers to get there. When I called to tell them they did this, they replied with an extremely condescending voicemail. Instead of apologizing and saying I could bring it back in - they voicemail stated that they placed the part in the car, did the work, put the car back together, test drove it, and then that "he was soooooo elated that he actually forgot to put the part on!" There was no apology for any inconvenience, for staining my car, or for costing me another trip to a mechanic during work hours. I will absolutely never take my car here again. It's extremely unprofessional in any setting to speak to a customer like that after having made a mistake. An apology would have sufficed.

I usually work on my vehicle myself but I needed a wheel bearing replaced and it was a little more then I could handle so I brought it to these guys, I can not say enough good things about them, honesty and ability are what they are all about just to name a few! I recommend them to everyone!

Top notch mechanic, who knows a variety of vehicles and how to repair them. Honesty is key here, the place only does what is necessary to repair your car, no games. It's like talking to your father and brother about repairing your vehicle. I drive from glen mills to go here. Best shop around.

I've been here a few times with both my truck and car. They've always been very helpful, especially getting my truck ready for a recent cross country trip. Fair prices and dependable work. I've tried lots of local mechanics over the years and I like coming here best.

This is the only place I will take my two Hondas - 2000 CRV and 2002 Odyssey. A quick call and I'm set up with an appointment; easy to get an oil change, inspection, or something else checked out if I'm worried that more is going on. Jake explains what he thinks is going on, advises on future care and maintenance, and there aren't any surprises. Totally reasonable and reliable. Why did I not find this place sooner? So glad Bala Cynwyd Garage exists!

Bala Cynwyd Auto Repair & Service is a hidden gem. The service I received was better than any service that I have received for my car, ever. Their team was in constant communication with updates and they never made a decision without my consultation. Their service, quality, and price is, in my opinion the best in the area. If you have car issues I would recommend going to them first.
