Took over an hour to have one tire changed. Spent $122 and the tire was not even fully inflated, low pressure light on when I got into car after service. Will never return.
My dad and I have been coming here for years for good used tires. Was Last there in late November maybe beginning of December
and I just had to have the their tires replaced today in January. They sold me dry rotted tires. Watch the tires you get from here they maybe cracking or dry rotted. Quality here has gone down hill.
Highly disappointed with the service we have been getting from this place. Dealt with them from years. Whoever is running their day today. Operations pulls prices out of the air. Need a tires for a plow truck.And they told me that since they were the last four, the price is gonna have to be a lot higher.I thought he was joking but I ended up paying almost four hundred dollars for junk tires
Usually I have good things to say about Smith's tires been coming here for years. However this morning, I stopped by to get a used front tire and they gave me one with litterly ZERO tread!! (Looked like the one they just took off) Then the Manager had the balls to charge me $53 for a POS tire.
HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!! I think the Manager needs to double check his tires that are being put on vehicles!
The S Main St WB location is trash! I was getting my inspection done for the year and I needed tires, so I could pass the inspection. I called to make sure they had the size I needed and drove over to them to get two tires. I went back the next day to have my tires looked at to make sure my car would pass inspection. They told me the tires I was given weren’t going to pass inspection, so I drove back over to the S Main St location and told the guy I was there and was given bad tires. I asked for different tires and was given different ones. But because they are a bunch of fragile boys working there and butt hurt I demanded new tires, they OVERTIGHTENED my lug nuts! I cannot believe this. Now my husband is running all over town to find tools to get the lug nuts off my car! A bunch of jerks working at that location. Never will I go to this business for tires ever again. Nor will I ever refer anyone to them.
I have been going there for the past year. Went thru 3 tires in less than 9 months..why, cause there was a Crack in my rim, that they either didn't notice when they changed my tire 3x or they cracked it. Either way. I am not amused. I trusted this place, and its clear they hire untrained professionals. I will not ever go there again, or will refer anyone, like I have in the past. Im sure losing me as a customer wont matter to you!!!
At all cost avoid this place I swear you can find better used tires I went there with my grandma's car and paid 200 hundred dollars for alignment and two used tires and the tires have no tread and they sent me to there wikes-barre location on river Street and the alignment was not done right now the driver tire is bald and the passenger is on its way avoid this place at all cost!!!!!
i called ahead to ask if they do alignments and rotation/balance and they said yes, it would be $100. when i went in person they said $130 and i said okay, i’ll go somewhere else. they said they would price match wherever else i was going and said they’d do it for $100. after rotation/balance they said they found a nail in my tire and it would be $20 to fix it. i told them to leave it and i would fix it myself. it was just a pebble. no repairs needed. then when i went to pay they said i would have to go somewhere else for the alignment. something they could have mentioned from the beginning. very scammy business.
Left with 4 used tires, the front right one was almost flat by time I was driving for 15 minutes. Took the car back the next day because they had closed for the night and the guy proceeds to tell me I need to get a whole new tire and that they can’t fix the tire I just had put on and I had to pay for a new one l. Never giving them my business again, very rude people and shady service. They also broke my tire pressure sensor when I brought the car back for the new tire so now I have to have that replaced and it has caused traction issues with my car. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE.
I bought some tires last week, and they gave me the worst! They don't even show you the tire they're going to install and they don't even tell you the cost of the tire. When it came time to pay, they charged me $106 with taxes included and they told me that a used tire costs $50. The worst part is that the tires they installed didn't even pass inspection. Very bad service, tires in poor condition and high prices!
Please don’t go to smith tires I went there for 2 tires took them 2 hours to do then they gave me a tire that had a nail in it ok so they plugged it I had no choice cause it’s hard to find my size tire then when it was done they scratched up both of my brand new rims so if u have nice rims don’t go there , they did nothing for me not even apologized & the guy in charge there extremely rude
I was charged 20 bucks no receipt and my male friend Who came here? Last week was only charged $10 so I will be calling the Better Business Bureau. Because I’m a girl I must be stupid!
I was told my tire (which will last me only about a month or so) would be $40 when I paid with my card they charged me $58. Again, that was for a tire that will last me a month if I’m lucky. And I’m not just taking a guess, I did tire work for a while, and I should have just gotten a new one for that price. It’s my first and last time there.
I will never take my car to Smith's used tires ever again. They charged me for work that they did not do. As a result, about two weeks later, I had to take my car to the dealership and they fixed it right. Consequently, I paid an extra $315 in addition to the $1200 that I was charged with them to do some of the same work. The owner Chuck and his worker Jerry were very unprofessional and classless. I have my paperwork from the dealership noting what was needed to be done and what I was charged for. The owner totalled disregarded this paperwork, staing that the work was done (lies). With that being said, for anyone considering doing business with Smith's used tires, take my advice, don't.
Take your vehicle to a reputable mechanic because they are not it!!!!!!
Came here on Friday, 4/19/2024 for new tires. Staff was great, friendly, and very helpful. Smith’s really surpassed my expectations. Was able to leave with brand new A/T tires on my Navigator for a great price. Would highly recommend them.
I’ve dealt with Smiths used tires numerous times throughout the years. I typically got to the one in Hanover but they didn’t have any tires my size that were in good condition. So they sent me to the South Main Street location because they have a larger inventory of tires.
The guy there, a short skinny dude, hyped the tires up he was giving me that they were extremely high quality with great tread at a great price of $62.50 a piece. I was like great, that’s awesome, thank you! Give me 4!
The very next day, I take my suv to Mavis Tire in Wilkes Barre for my state inspection. They said everything looks good on your car except for your two front tires, they’re dry rotted. Because of that I can’t pass your car. I was like WHAT?!?!? I just got them yesterday at Smith’s Used Tires on South Main Street. He said that’s your problem, I myself have had nothing but issues with that place along with other customers.
I went right back to Smiths and they did replace them but they shouldn’t have sold me dry rotted tires to begin with especially after the guy was hyping them up.
Now I gotta go back up to Wilkes-Barre tomorrow to have my car reinspected
Had to replace one tire because I got a flat. It was $53 but had good tread so whatever. Tried to upsell me a new tire for $75- why would anyone buy one singlular new tire?? They let me leave on a tire with an AUDIBLY leaking stem and I didn't even make it a few miles from the shop before the tire pressure light came. I had to put air in FOUR TIMES on an 8 mile drive for a family member to fix it. Do not recommend.
For years I've been going here probably about a decade bringing various vehicles from my business fleet for tires. Their prices have always been the best and their service quick. This last time their prices were 40% more than Mavis tire or Jack Williams. There's no point in going out of my way to go back there if their prices are going to be so much higher than their competitors
Absolutely best tire place in the area! Smiths is great but this location is the BEST! They are always quick but efficient, very polite, and very good at what they do. We always come here and recommend others to come here. Even if we aren’t able to purchase the tires directly from them, we still come to have our tires mounted by them. Wonderful place, great customer service, the owner is always super nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place. Even after moving out of the area we still come down to WB specifically for Smiths on Main st. Thank you guys!
5 stars!!! Just had 4 snows put on. No wait time. In and out so fast. These guys are on the ball. Can’t beat the price or service! Will definitely go back and have already recommended to a co-worker/friend. Now I can relax with this snow storm we are getting. Thank you !!!
I was making a trip from VA to NY and got a low tire pressure alert 3 hours into the trip. We came here and got fast service. They went to plug the leak for $15 and found two issues with my tire and I needed a replacement. They had a used tire that fit my car and they had it replaced in under an hour for $75. I was amazed that they even had the right size in stock as I have always had to order them in the past. The crew looks tough but they were all polite, attentive and knowledgeable.
I would give this place a NEGATIVE STARS rating if I could!
I went there to have 4 dry rotted tires replaced. I paid $10 extra per tire for the "better" tires. What I got was 4 dry rotted tires and at least one rounded lug nut and another that was either rounded or cross threaded.
I got a flat 2 days later and when I called them, the manager said to bring it in and he would "make it right". Here's how they make it right; they give you 2 more dry rotted tires that are 9 years old, 2 nearly bald tires that weren't made in this country so they don't have a date code, and, as if that wasn't bad enough, their employee snapped off a stud AND the lug nut. They also flat out REFUSED to pay for the repair.
Here I am, 2 months later, and I still have 2 bad front tires that I can't afford to get fixed. Meanwhile, the owner is driving around in his Maserati and carrying a wad of bills that would make a drug dealer jealous.
Bottom line is that I wouldn't recommend this place if it was the only place on earth. _
I have been to the River St location a few times now and the great customer service and prices have always been consistent. As a woman, I feel like I am treated equally here and not being overcharged or given sub par products like other shops in the area. Whether I'm buying used or new, I'm not pressured either way although the prices for new really are fantastic! I'm always recommending them for great prices and outstanding service! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
