Avoid this place at all costs! I’ll take a polygraph test to verify that all of this occurred to me.
Brought my vehicle in for an oil change, tire rotation and inspection. Got a call a while later saying there’s a “slight issue” with my vehicle passing inspection. The “slight issue” was I needed new brakes and rotors to the tune of around $900. Go to pick up my vehicle at the end of my work day and the guy says “There was a slight issue with your car. I was about to call you. We screwed up drilling and need to take a part to a machine shop. It’s not going to be ready today. Unfortunately you’re going to need to find a way home.” Thank God these people aren’t in the medical profession because they’d consider stage 4 cancer a “slight issue”. Had to rent a vehicle because I live 40 minutes away (this location is near my workplace). Next day I don’t hear a thing. So I call them mid afternoon to see if I will need a rental for another evening. The same guy says, “I was just about to call you.” I’m willing to bet he was not. How do you not have the courtesy to call someone to update them on your vehicle when you know damn well that person needs to know if he will need a rental for a second evening or not? I blame myself for this latest experience because I never should have went back after an ordeal in October. (Back then they told me I needed something to pass inspection and my inspection wasn’t up until this year. Plus they failed to repair a power steering fluid leak that I asked them to do.). The manager said he’d get me a “Kost Corporate Discount” with Enterprise so I did not have to pay the full price of the rental. I get my invoice for the rental and there is zero discount. Enterprise claimed the “Kost Corporate Discount” would not have helped me. I had to pay the full $100 plus out of my own pocket for the rental thanks to Kost screwing up drilling.
Driving home from picking up my vehicle following this latest ordeal and my “check oil” light comes on about 3/4 of the way into my trip. Turns out the plug came out on my trek home and my vehicle hemorrhaged oil for a good 7 miles home. To Kost’s credit, they did send someone to my home to replace the plug and the oil. Again, it should never have come to this. Thankfully, as of right now, my engine is running fine.
I will say the gentleman, who did my oil change, was one of the people who came to my home with a new plug and new oil. He apologized and genuinely felt bad. I totally forgive him but can no longer come back to this place.
So this latest experience cost me over $100 out of my own pocket for a rental vehicle and a day off from work because I could not drive my vehicle the next morning after the oil loss.
Finally, they’re so overpriced on everything. Sadly I had to give them my business the past few years because they’re the closet place to my workplace. It won’t happen again. I’ll take a sledgehammer to my vehicle before I let them touch it again.
They’re a terrible combination of complete incompetence and a total lack of courtesy and ethics. Don’t assure me that I’m going to get a discount on a rental vehicle, when I didn’t end up getting one.
I emailed Kost’s district manager on a Monday morning to share my frustrations and anger. 48 hours later I decided to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because I did not hear back from him. Magically, at the end of the day I hear from the district manager just hours after I filed the complaint with BBB. He claimed he didn’t see my email because he was “traveling at the beginning of the week”. I’m willing to bet he did and chose to ignore it until I got the BBB involved especially being he asked to revoke the complaint if they tried to work with me. Their idea of working with me was three free oil changes and a sliver off of my Enterprise bill. Thanks, but no thanks.
Again I blame myself for coming back after my October ordeal.
Found ourselves here in the middle of a 600 mile road trip with an audibly deflating brand new tire. The fellas were quick, informative, and helpful in getting us patched up. They were friendly, showed us their giant sticker ball, collection of tire-puncturing wonders, and local sport team support paraphernalia, and generally were reassuring dog-friendly good guys. If I ever find myself there again, I’ll be a repeat customer. Waiting room was comfy. Free calendars!
Woody was very helpful and accommodating. My wife's car needed an inspection and I did not have an appointment. Woody and his mechanics were already busy with other customers and wasn't sure if he could get to it. Woody said he would call if anything came available. About an hour later Woody called and said he would be able to fit in the inspection. During the inspection the mechanics found a bad ball joint and had to be replaced. Woody gave me a quote that was more than reasonable. Woody went above and beyond to make his customers feel like family.

Amazing experience! Woody was incredibly hospitable and made me feel welcome right away. Even though they were busy, they managed to take care of my service quickly while I waited. Excellent customer service and great work — highly recommend this place!

Woody & Bruce and the mechanics are great. I had a screw in my tire and they had it fixed in less than an hour with great service. The price couldn’t be beat. They do a great job on servicing and inspecting our other vehicle as well. Couldn’t recommend them more.
Woody was great. He worked with me and my budget. Coming here you can tell that they really care and want the best for their customers. Plus Woody was pretty funny so I felt more at ease after going through the realization of how bad I let my tires get.
Perfect spot so they can take of you car . Woody did a great job he took care of me and got me out as quick as possible. He told his guys to start taking care of me and my car was done really fast .
Woody was very friendly and helped me get the best deal. My tires were worn down and out of alignment, both the mechanic and woody noticed and helped me get a good deal. While waiting for my truck to be finished, woody was very personable and easy to talk to.

We received excellent services at the Kost Dunmore location. We've been there a few times with 2 vehicles for brake work and each time, they have been professional, fast, and honest. Woody and Allison are the best! As long as they are there, we will be returning customers.

Last week, on a road trip to New York, our car hit a curb when backing up and ended up denting the tip of our exhaust pipe a little inward. We drove down the road to Kost, where their tech Ethan offered to immediately fix it even after the manager Woody found out they were fully booked that day. Ethan straightened out the exhaust pipe tip immediately, free of charge.

I love Kost Tire in Dunmore. They had the best prices on tires last time I bought them and have a great warranty on them.
Today I had bought an older car and the tire sensor light was on even though the tires were properly inflated. They looked at it and found it needed resetting and wasn’t the sensor. They gave me my keys back and said no charge!! They are honest and reliable. I highly recommend them. Bruce and Woody at the desk were very friendly and personable. Definitely my go to place when I need something

The customer service at the Kost Tire in Dunmore is amazing! After running over a spark plug on a near by highway, I drove to Kost Tire in Dunmore and they replaced my tire in less than 30 minutes! Woody, the manager, was helpful, friendly and gave me a discount on my tire. Couldn’t have asked for better help during a very stressful time.

I was traveling and my check engine oil light came on. My cell phone wasn't working so I stopped at a nearby convenience store and asked a local to recommend a service station. She referred me to Kost Tire and Auto Service in Dunmore and I am so grateful! Although they were busy and had several people in their waiting area, the manager kindly squeezed me in. They added a quart of oil and didn't even charge me. I can't say enough about their courteous and professional service. Thank you!!!
On a road trip from Ontario we picked up a big nail in our tire. We walked in and they were able to accommodate us immediately. They patched the tire quickly and saved our road trip! A "eh" class service from these guys. Can't thank them enough
go anywhere else. got two new tires intending to have the put on during an inspection but the mechanic overlooked them. never used, never touched beyond putting them in my car and i cannot get a simple refund. store credit (NO THANKS) or other tires (why would i need more???). absolute lowlife behavior. $260 in the toilet. lovely company.
Do your best not to take your vehicle here. Car went in for a simple inspection, it passed. 2 days later the brakes fail. Took it back, had the part installed we paid for it. They claimed to fix it, but when we went to pick the car up the next day and the problem was never fixed. We couldn’t leave the lot the breaks we’re still not fixed. Had another part installed worked for a good couple weeks then brakes failed again. I don’t know who is doing the vehicle inspections/installations at this location but they probably shouldn’t. Good luck. Yes it did happen at your location. It happened on behalf of my girlfriend. And no thank you on help getting this resolved. You guys clearly don't care and she no longer feels safe driving her vehicle after being worked on at your shop.
Please don’t go anywhere else for your tires! These guys are awesome. Believe me, I wasn’t the easiest customer, and my situation was complicated. They went above and beyond helping me try to get reimbursed with tire insurance from elsewhere. That will never happen again. I will only get tires there! Special thanks to Shane, who really had to take a lot of time helping me out. 😃☺️
