RiP OFF! BEWARE! GO ELSEWHERE ! My son & his friend took in a load of scrap metal. That we been collecting for long time. We made the mistake of calling ahead and asking questions ( I personally never took in scrap) doesn’t mean my husband hasnt. They asked my son if it was his 1st time also ( 1st red flag) anyways they gave them .004 a pound. Tld them it was 2300 that they had. Didn’t separate anything, so wondering how they came up with the amount. ..and who would even waist their time for 4 cent a pound
They cheat u n be in ur personal business I would not recommend them to my enemy we weigh the item b4 we took them he gave us half n said to my husband ur not even spose to be driven smdh
Every so often I will haul scrap to make extra money and I always take it here. Drive slow when you come in on the scale and be patient. It's usually relatively quick. They also work on cars and sell used tires I believe in the garage attached and they will do right by you. All and all good people and a good buisness.
I always take my business up the road to carpenters guy in the scale house is a joke here at broadway yeI bet he talks to his wife the same way he talks to customers going 1mph over, the scale also never show y what the true weight is outside of the scale and I’ve always felt shafted leaving here do better
A couple of days ago, I came here for the first time, and had some scrap I was trying to get rid of. Entered onto the scale and the guy ran out screaming at me in a rage saying I entered in to fast. I rolled in onto the scale in first gear without my foot on the gas pedal. I was going extremely slow. I backed up re entered and had to feather my clutch in order to go slow enough. Luckily the old man didn't have another brain aneurysm, because I was "going too fast".
But when I was given directions on where to drop my scrap off in the yard the old man was extremely short with me. Gaving me directions on where to go that were some what confusing. As he was giving me directions, there was another guy trying get around another truck in the yard and the old man abruptly stopped talking to me walked past me in another rage and began to yell at this other driver pointing to the direction he was supposed to go. While walking back he was was talking to himself calling the driver names and swearing under his breath..
I verbally repeated the directions he had given me to confirm the directions as to try not to set him off again and he yelled "YES"
Looking back on this experience I don't think I will ever be coming back here again. I understand people can be going through some things, and it might affect they way they act. But it's no excuse to be short, rude and say condescending and expletive remarks towards other people. I was a first time customer and was treated like scrap I was bringing in. Like garbage.
They don't show you your scale weight, there is no indication on how much you weigh besides what the guy "tells you". Seems pretty shady. They even have a side view blocking cover on the weight read out monitor, so you can't see it and a Divider between you and the clerk. When you pull in onto the scale they should have a readout on the outside of the building. A competitor that is right down the road does this. Shows you the weight as you pull on the scale. Broad way is all hand written, and all left up to the clerk to tell you how much you weigh, whether it's what you actually weigh or not.
They backed me up to a machine with a magnet to dump. The dumping area was pretty clean, so I didn't have to worry about puncturing a tire. There was a bit of a wait to get in and out across the scale, but thats expected on a Saturday morning I think.
Turned in 175 lbs of bare bright and shiny copper. Mostly very large gauge wire. I received less than $2.50 per pound when most other places are paying over $3 per pound. I will not be returning to this place.
I was in a bind and needed a tire and rim for my car they took advantage of that and tried to charge me 100 for it granted it was close to closing time so he says for me to stay open this what its worth to me... bad business wont go there again

I travel past 3 scrap yards on my way to Broadway, every employee is nice and eager to help, we at Klein and sons automotive will continue to do business here for a lifetime.
This place totally robbed me of my money I just got paid one dollar a pound for my #2 copper(shielded wire) I usually travel to Twinsburg, Ohio to a scrap place on Dutton road. But due to limited time I had to come here and in disbelief on how little I got paid I called my scrap yard in Twinsburg to see what they were offering for #2copper and the nice lady on the phone said that they're paying $2.25 a lb (That's over double!!!) I want to know how this place gets away with this highway robbery. So to everyone that is considering coming here believe me don't was your time. Go to Twinsburg!!! You'll get your moneys worth for your scrap and it's much nicer more advanced place. Screw Broadway Iron these guys are crooks!!!
