It's not a place most people usually have reason to visit. But when you need to, it ended up being a positive experience for me. This is where my car ended up after being moved from the initial impound lot, after the accident.
I was treated respectfully and the staff was very helpful. Even to the point of recovering my front license plate, which ended up underneath the car.Jan 17, 2026 -
Took Copart 21 days from the initial claim to send back my personal belongings when I was told it would take 48hrs. Missing out of my vehicle was over $800 worth of belongings that was not shipped back to me. Poor customer service and incompetence across the board. Will be following up with legal action.

They have no punctuality, they're always late, and if I'm 5 minutes late they cancel my appointment.

This is by far the best Copart yard I’ve ever been to. The lady who always sits at the front desk is truly amazing; she is very patient and passionate about helping people. I love cars, so I’m at Copart often, and every visit has been a great experience. The rest of the staff are calm, friendly, and professional. They go above and beyond to help you out. Highly recommended!

Copart needs to communicate with copart title express when they get document. Because of the delay i had to call and asked them to update documents and I shouldn't have too.

If want a nice higher end motorcycle you have to have a buisiness license. It wont allow you to bid it will say on the listing. If want lower end things or things completely broken you can bid on it. This needs to change allow everyone the equal non discriminatory action to bid buy on anything.

Took my motorcycle without my approval/release, got my motorcycle back with missing parts and license plate. Called said they would mail it all to me next day....only received my plate. This is THEFT in my eyes.....

Wish I looked a little more into it before buying a car. A single mom cheated out of her hard earned money. I read the reports on the car it never said anything about transmission issues. Now I have to either sell the car or pay 5100 to get the transmission fix I never felt so cheated in my life. I’m hurt, angry and back at square 1. Yet I can’t trade it in here or get a refund that sucks !

Something doesn’t add up. My vehicle was in an accident and before any insurance company was notified or police report was filed they we’re trying to get my vehicle released to them. When I called and asked why I was told the insurance adjuster was involved. Straight up lies. No wonder their rating is so low. Shady people!! Wouldn’t trust this company

Rude management and a very junky facility. Lots of vehicle parts laying all around on the driveway. Had to park in a big mud hole. I sat there for about an hour till someone finally told me the vehicle was down the road at a subplot!

I wanted to reach out regarding an issue that I have had experienced at one of the Copart locations at Columbus, Ohio
I have purchased 2 vehicles and noticed missing parts! When a car is labeled a total loss the owner might take a part of two out of the car! Such as floor mats or spare tire, but in my cases its been more than that and I need to bring that to your attention that you might have some sort of theft in your yard. As tts a gated yard auction not a junkyard! I delat with an entire missing cargo parts! I am talking both sides trunk panels! Side trims from both sides that goes behind the doors!! Spare tires and jack kits. Cargo covers lower and upper ones! From Chevy and the Kia I got recently! Floor mats and back seat headset which is so expensive and so unethical! I had this experience with this yard only. I reached out to find a solution because its not right and I am so unhappy with that second time experience.May 14, 2024 -

Arrived at Copart/Colombus, Ohio approximately 11AM. I was there for 2 hours trying to pay with a cashiers check for a vehicle and get it loaded.
Turns out I needed my buyers ID number, lot number of won vehicle, and was supposed to make a reservation to pick up my vehicle.
Whatever happened to customer service? Last time I was there, I showed up with proper ID(Drivers License) and my email address. They were able to pull up my information and process my transaction is less than 10 minutes.
I had proper ID, Email address and year, make and model of car I was supposed to pick up. I asked the lady if she could use my Email address and pull up my information. She said no and that I could have to call customer service. Once I got my buyers ID, i was told that I was supposed to contact the transportation section and schedule a pickup time. The lady was polite enough, but the customer service sucks.Jun 22, 2022 -
Impossible to get to at times. Road closed from alum creek rd already for more then 2 months. From groveport rd there's usually a train that is blocking the road!

For having to come here to empty out my car after it was totaled and what I'm dealing with insurance wise I was expecting a hassle. Quite the opposite. The lady at check in was very nice and everything went smooth. Checked in and left within a 1/2 hour with everything I needed to get out of my car.

My car was sent here after being totaled by an insurance company. Copart sent a text saying they would pick up the car at my residence the same or next day. 5 days goes by and randomly in the evening the car is taken. I kept my keys out of the car with the doors locked at night and when being gone till late as there are people who check for unlocked doors to steal things in the area. They didn’t call, text, knock on the door to say they were there…just dragged the car while in park into their rollback. I decided to buy the car back and they were to deliver the car back to me. 6 days later no signs of the car meanwhile insurance paid me and the rental was going back. Still nothing. Called Copart 6 times until I could finally speak to a person as it kept redirecting me through their automated menu and redirecting my call to Cleveland for some reason. I showed up to just take the car home myself so I can get it fixed, inspected, and back on the road instead of being without a car. After showing up to Copart I was informed that I had chose the delivery option and not to pick it up…yeah and almost a week later there’s no car and I’m tired of waiting. So after standing around a while they have someone to toss around the car with a forklift at the entrance and some mud smeared all over my carpet which was clean when the car left my possession. If you have a nice car and there’s any chance you may be buying it back after a total, push the insurance company to evaluate the vehicle on your property and not go through the inept idiots that are Copart. What a joke of a place.

Wasn't the funnest experience, but having your car totaled and dealing with insurance (Grange)companies is horrible. This company did however get me in quickly and were polite, and thank you for that. Polite goes a long way when having these issues. They handed the title work efficiently.

When we got there had to sign in and then got a text saying your time is 37 minutes then the next said 25 minutes. Long story short we was out side,not even having going inside yet was a total of 1 hour 40 minutes. If you don't have to buy from here don't waste your time. The loaders are pretty good about getting to loaded but the front office is killing the place slowly

Customer service is a JOKE. I was in a car accident on 6/9/21. I had suffered minor injuries. Because I live on the opposite side of town and could not get a rental for 1.5 days following my accident, I called Copart (assigned for the inspection and tow by my insurance company) and explained I would not have my personal effects removed or the key ready until 6/14/21. They assured me not once, but on two separate occasions on 6/11 that this was okay and manageable. The driver DOES NOT CALL, shows up to my place of work where the accident occurred to get the vehicle, and harasses my boss and co workers and then takes the car without my permission with everything I own inside. Management was of no help, despite the fact they basically stole my car. I demanded it be returned to me so that I can use a different inspection company, because I do not trust them. After a supervisor with my insurance calls them, they agree to return the car to my address. THEY DID NOT SHOW UP, and are now closed for the weekend. No idea where my car is, there is no tracking in the vehicle according to my insurance adjuster.
I was very upset, and because of the coldness and attitude received by their reps and manager, I became livid on the phone demanding and answer. They simply do not care, it’s just a dollar amount to them, but to someone who has been in an accident and has had to handle everything, I’m very upset with how this has been handled.Jun 11, 2021 -

I won a lot for an old Ford Ranger and went to go pick it up. I find that the online instructions are a bit confusing and it's much easier to just show up and get your questions answered. I believe I got what I paid for so no complaints there - you're buying cars at auction sight unseen of course it's not gonna be perfect. Office staff very friendly and helpful, loading was quick and easy. I have no complaints overall.

They were putting new cars in the lot when 20+ trucks were waiting for their car(s) to be brought to them. There needs to be a better system put in place. They also showed no advertisment for their "no cash" policy. We drove 6 hours with cash, and were told we had to go get a money order which placed us even farther back on the quicky growing line.

Compared to other locations the loading phase of things here is very slow and time consuming. Office staff was friendly and helpful though. And loaded was actually cool. The place just isn't as smooth flowing as some other locations.
As with most Coparts, loading area was a crappy muddy lot, similar to muck in a horse stall. Perhaps pavement or even gravel is just expecting too much.Mar 30, 2018 -
Ridiculous! I'd give this place zero stars if I could. Everytime we have to pick cars up here, it takes HOURS to load one to three cars. There should be an call-ahead appointment system or something if they are this behind all the time because waiting this long costs us money. I might have to start surcharging our customers who buy here regularly because we waste half a day standing in line in the cold when we could be actually moving a load. The parking lot is trash. I'm surprised we haven't flattened a tire driving through it yet. We've complained to management on several occasions to no avail. I'm avoiding this place if at all possible from now on and telling our customers to avoid it too. I advise all of you to do the same. Save yourself the headache.

You can pretty much guarantee 90 minutes to 2 hours for one car this location is the slowest copart in a 200 mile radius. 3 loaders but only operate 1 most the time until gets time to close then they operate more. Sitting their 2 hours and wait for a car when I can't feel your toes is not cool. I am not the only one that feels this way many of the drivers do as well which really hate coming here to pick up cars because you know it's gonna take forever.
