What clients say about SA Recycling in Columbus Grove (OH)
Yard staff is rude and dismissive. Got there nobody ahead of me still sat for 20 min nobody would speak to me. Just go to I.H they are fast and will treat you like a human being rather than tell you they will get to you when they get to you. Some people are just too busy to do their jobs.
This was my first experience with a scrapyard and it was not good. I went into the office when I got there and told the cashier it was my first time and asked what I had to do, she asked what I was scrapping and I said an ac unit. My boss gave me the unit and had already stripped the copper out of the unit and gave it to me to scrap. I was told to take my stuff to the big pile in the back and unload, then get on the scale and head to the office for payment. When I got to the office I was given a receipt for 12 dollars, I looked at her kinda funny but took the receipt and left. Upon inspecting the receipt closer I noticed that she gave me tin value for my materials. I immediately called and she said that was the price for the unit and if I wanted to get the copper price for my copper it had to be stripped, and I said it was, then she said it was on me to tell her I had the copper, I understand this but I feel like she definitely knew more about scrapping than I did and could have easily asked if I had stripped anything from the unit. I told her I felt like they were being shady and I just wanted to get my stuff back and take it somewhere else. She said ok, and when I went back to the pile of course the copper was nowhere to be found. I was then told by the manager that they have inspectors in the yard and they should have seen it, but they refused to help me out and actually started laughing at the situation. A bunch of shady people, I would not recommend this place. Update:I called in to talk to the general manager hoping to get some sort of resolution, I was told he would call me back and never did, super shady place.
My work van overheated and I was able to pull in to the parking lot. A wonderfully kind employee came to my rescue with coolant and a helping hand. Thank you so much!
I was supposed to be loaded with 42,500 lbs but they loaded 45,500 lbs. After I got fuel I was over 80,000 lbs. People were nice but it was also extremely crowded.
I just recycled scrap metal today with full of pipes weights, heavy metals vanful. They cheated on the weights about 220lb less. The weight should be 760 lbs, but they told me 540 lbs and they paid me 30 dollars even. This place is horrible. I'll never going back this place again
New Owners implied a new system that is broken extra steps to a process that was already seamless slows everything down. Kelly was great at the counter
I stopped in the PSC yard yesterday and was unsure how it all worked, but was greeted by an employee in a bull dozer he was very helpful willing to assist and answer all my questions. I'll be honest I never thought to much of scrapyards but after meeting this gentleman I do believe anytime I have something to get rid of I'll be going back to PSC Metals.
Office is staff is always very good to deal with. They have some newer yard workers that are trying to steal a good part of your load by saying something it wrong with what you are dropping off. If you see any of them walking around your truck while you unloading be prepared to get ripped off when you get back to the office. Tried to take 25% of a load of 35 water heaters because they said they had water in them. Doing the math they accused me of bringing 925 pounds of water. Water is 8 pounds per gallon so that's roughly 115 gallons of water. When I called them out on it and we walked back into the yard. Using a skid steer to pick up and shake the water out of them they got maybe 2 gallons. I have been going here probably 6 years now. I've never had an issue until now. I hope they get it fixed but I will be going elsewhere from now on.
Best scrapyard in the area. All concrete no driving in the dirt or mud running over God knows what. Excellent friendly staff and service. I'm always in and out of there quick which is important to me as I'm always in a hurry.
Great service everytime. And unlike other scrapyards if i feel they made a mistake they'll double check and will change my ticket to reflect the right payment is made.
I had a bunch of items to recycle and used PSC in the past. Process was smooth except for iron but that was me. Never had to weigh in and out and I was unfamiliar with the process. Got that sorted out and it's all good.
One of the best scrap yards in town they get a little busy but will get you in and out quickly all concrete to makes dumping your metal a little better
It was my first time. They were nice. I went through the drive thru but shouldn't have because I had a big load of aluminum siding. They moved me to the right spot and helped me out. Will use again
Went there to sell metal parts which made good money out of and took lots of cans there and they paid top dollar. I sold metal there since a little boy, age of 13.
this place has just went down the toilet since they changed from joyce iron. the biggest thing is that the refuse to pay me iron prices for iron scrap anymore they flat out said they dont give a damn if its sold as iron and they ship it out of there place as iron they will only pay me sheet steel prices for it. um no when you make more mony selling it to whomever they sell it to they should still pay more for it exspecialy since somany other places still do.
Someone told me a scrap yard would give $20 - $30 per hot water tank recycled. I brought 2 of them here and only left with $15 for both. It paid for my gas there, but really not worth my time. Maybe another place pays better....
