I'm way WAY overdue for posting a review. I've been coming to Automotive Specialty Services for nearly 20 years, and no other automotive repair shop, dealer or independent, comes close to the service and care provided by Diane and her team. She and Casey and Jen look for solutions to help the people involved, not just their vehicles. They recognize that honesty and transparency are key in driving repeat business. There's no place I trust more than Automotive Specialty Services.
They make it easy for you quick fast service very friendly very nice to talk to and deal with and they'll go out of their way to help you never dealt with a dealership that one out of their way and did whatever they needed to do to make you happy this is a medium scale dealership that runs very professionally and make things go very smoothly I couldn't speak more highly of them what's my two experiences of buying vehicles from them I write them 100%
My 2014 Chevy Equinox was due for an oil change and tire rotation. Scheduled online with ease a week before. Last time the car was serviced it was suggested a coolant flush so be considered based on the age of the vehicle. Opted for that service.
As in the past, the crew at A.S. provided 5 star service. Free shuttle back to home in some not so good weather conditions. I will continue to TRUST this crew with both my cars.
Cannot recommend this shop enough, if everyone has always heard horror stories about repair shops then they've never been to Automotive Specialty Services. They are professional and honest above reproach. I took my F150 in because I thought something was terribly wrong with the transmission, come to find out thru initial testing it turned out to be a misfire in the cylinders.
They did a spark plug change and fuel system clean and my truck is running better than ever. Diane even sent me pictures of how bad the spark plugs were with carbon build up, then they explained how and why it happened and what to do to keep this from happening in the future. I will never go anywhere else but Automotive Specialty Services for any and all vehicle needs, thank you to the entire team for putting my mind at ease. if you're like me and you value honesty, transparency and integrity you will find all 3 in abundance here. I stopped in again and had my alternator fixed by Ed, and I can honestly say this is the place to go for all your car repairs.

This is my second visit and it was just as good as the first. Staff are great and explain in detail the issues and will provide a resolution to solve the problem you might encounter. Getting you in and out was faster than expected.

The best mechanic experience I've ever had. I had a severe van transmission issue a few weeks back and they went through every viable option and acted accordingly. They couldn't have been nicer and understanding. I can't recommend them enough!

Every repair is explained to me as well as oftentimes being taken into the garage to see what is actually going to be done. Diane is an absolute professional and runs a top notch business. I’ve had my car in their shop 3 times now. They are super friendly and conscientious. The first time I had my car towed there because it would not start. They paid for a bulk of the towing cost. They did a lot of diagnostics but couldn’t figure out root cause but suspected an intermittent problem with the ignition. They were able to get the car pertain by disconnecting the battery for a half hour. They were unwilling to recommend a repair given that they could not conclusively confirm that the ignition switch was faulty. They recommended that I wait until it failed again. The second time I brought my car in for a failed driver’s side seat belt. They gave me a loaner for the day. When I picked up my car they indicated that the technician had dropped the seat when taking it out and there was some minor damage to the molding. They had already ordered the parts to have it fixed at no charge to me. Subsequently I noticed a minor dent and they offered to have it fixed at repair shop at no cost to me while providing a loaner to me. Honestly, I would not have noticed the damage if they hadn’t pointed it out. The third time, my car had trouble starting and I brought it to the shop first thing in the morning. They took me right in because I only have one car and found it was a battery problem. In summary, Automotive Specialty Services, in my experience, will not recommend repairs that are not needed, offer a competitive price for services, and stand behind their work. I will keep using them and heartily recommend them to everyone
I took my 2013 VW Beetle to Casey at Automotive Specialty in Avon, Ohio. Before doing any work on my car, he called me. He was very honest and given the age and other issues, instead of a money grab, he suggested I do not spend the money to fix a bad sensor as my goal is to sell this car within the next six months. He was kind, informative, supportive and honest. I highly recommend Casey’s services! Thank you Casey!
I will never take my car to a quick change place again. They found my car dripping oil because my plug was not secure. Oil and rotation in less than an hour at a fair price. Also a free brake check. Highly recommend this place.
For years, we’ve been very pleased with the welcoming, honest and capable staff. The mechanics have performed a wide range of services over 15 + years enabling us to keep our cars longer in great shape. The service manager explains situations and give us options. Pricing has been very reasonable, discount packages offered, and warranties utilized. We trust Automotive Specialties and will continue to recommend them for auto services.
Our experience with this company was a pleasure from start to finish. We’re somewhat new to the area, so we selected them from a web search due to their high ratings and positive reviews. They exceeded our expectations. Diane was helpful and reassuring when I explained that we left our old Honda in a business parking lot the previous evening because it wouldn’t start. She arranged for a tow, and the issue was resolved the same day. Jen couldn’t have been nicer. They accepted two discount coupons and even gave us two cookies before we drove our car home! We’ll return to them for service again, and if they keep up the good work, maybe exclusively.
After a couple of missteps by the Ford dealer, I sought out a new service facility. Automotive Specialty Services is a night and day difference. They performed several maintenance services on my Ford vehicle and did an awesome job and the technician kept me updated. The office staff are competent and friendly. Their prices are competitive also. This will be my new shop for auto maintenance and repair.

Best shop I’ve used my entire life. For 15 years, they have kept our cars in excellent working conditions, providing every repair and service promptly and 100% reliably. But they have also treated every member of our family with such kindness, going well beyond what we’ve expected. They have picked us up, dropped us off, loaned us cars, moved car seats back and forth for us, provided monthly deals and great value via their car care club, and showered us with cookies. We’ve also been impressed that they regularly support several worthy charities. Diane, Casey, and Jenn are truly wonderful humans. It is wonderful to see a business run this well and we are very grateful to them.
Automotive specialty services is absolutely amazing! Casey was so helpful when explaining about brakes that needed replaced. Even took my husband back to show him. I’ve had such good experiences each time I’ve come here I won’t take my car anywhere else!
Following up our original post, we did bring the car in for the repairs suggested in the free estimate. Again extremely pleased with the customer service which seems legendary in today’s world. The whole team was very friendly and accommodating, the facility is spotless, and they kept us informed via phone calls as to their progress and a couple of minor changes to the original work order.
They even asked us to bring the vehicle back for another free follow up inspection just to ensure everything was working properly. We’re very happy that we found Diane and her staff and will definitely be back when our next need arises.

Words fall short when describing how wonderful this establishment is. Diane and Jen(I believe was her name) were so kind and helpful through the process.
I needed an urgent repair on New Years Day, and though they were closed, I was able to get my vehicle towed there. Casey began working on my car immediately the following day, with clear communication the whole way through. I still am in awe that I did not need an appointment and that Casey was able to get my car back to me within 2 days, especially during such a busy time of year. He was honest, and did not make me do any extra repairs that I wasn’t able to afford, unlike most places.
They even offer credit plans for those, like me, who are unable to pay the whole price up front. The process took literally 2 minutes and covered everything I needed.
Since the repair, my car is running smoother than ever. Needless to say, I will not take my car anywhere else but here from now on.

After breaking down on a road trip from Massachusetts to Sandusky at night, I was able to limp my truck to Automotive Specialty Services. Fortunately, the shop was only 1.6 miles from where I had pulled over.
Not only were they able to get my truck in, first thing in the morning, they were able to fix the engine issue and repair the failing rear brakes.
I am blown away by the levels of communication throughout the repair process. Not only were the phone calls and texts great, they also sent photos of the items that needed repair and explained the process thoroughly.
I want to thank the whole team for everything they did and getting my truck back on the road so I could enjoy the rest of my vacation.

This establishment is a great resource and business. Communication was SOLID! The repairs can be expensive depending on issue(s) with inspection, parts, and labor but with the fast turnaround time and not cutting corners on top of getting the job done right with factory parts? You get what you pay for when it comes to quality work backed with warranty. They itemize bills which is great to understand. I paid A LOT for the repairs needed, and way more than I expected ($1700) but it seems it was worth it so far. I’m happy to get my 2014 Ford Edge back on the road again fast and reliably. Thanks Casey, front office and mechanics for the service. Note: I had smaller and cheaper shops turn me away due to the work needed in timely fashion for two cars! Always save for a rainy day.
