I would like to extend a huge thank you to Capital Automotive for their honesty, professionalism, and exceptional service. I initially took my vehicle to the Honda dealership, where I regularly go for oil changes, and asked them to inspect two specific concerns I had noticed. When I received the estimate, I was shocked to see a quote exceeding $13,000. Although I was provided with a video highlighting the areas of concern—along with a list of 9 additional issues!!!! NINE OTHER ISSUES!!—I let the dealership know I did not agree with their extra findings nor the price of what I had questions about and that I was going to seek a second opinion. The dealership all of a sudden began offering discounts for the said work needing to be done! I let them know I was NOT agreeing to any discounts but I was going to have another professional evaluation. I then contacted Capital Automotive and shared the estimate I had received. From the start, their team was transparent and thorough. After inspecting my vehicle, they carefully explained what genuinely needed attention and clarified why several items listed by the dealership were unnecessary! The technician and Page took the time to walk me through each recommendation, ensuring I fully understood the work being proposed. The final estimate from Capital was $1,200—an enormous difference. The repairs were completed quickly and efficiently, and Page maintained clear, supportive communication throughout the entire process. I truly appreciate the integrity and customer care demonstrated by Capital Automotive. I will no longer be taking my car Honda.

Capital Automotive is the best. Very kind staff, great quality of work for a great price. I had my yearly inspection as well as routine oil change and tire rotation done and they went ahead and replaced my cabin air filter because it was in really rough shape. I highly recommend them for any maintenance needs you have routine or otherwise.

Terrible Experience! Buyers beware. My daughter, a student at ECU called me on Thursday about an unusual noise her car was making. She mentioned due to the proximity to the school she had found Capital Auto. I called Capital Auto and spoke to Sean who said to bring the car in around 2:00 pm so that he could have a look at it to diagnose the problem. I asked him to please call me, and keep me informed once they had uncovered the issue prior to completing any repairs. My daughter dropped the car off at 2:00 as planned with the service rep and she was informed at the time that Sean was not there at the time. We never received a call, so my daughter called early that evening and they were already closed for the weekend and remained closed until Monday. On Monday morning I received a call that the car was ready to be picked up and that it was low on power steering fluid. The charge was a total of $59.90 :$50 for LABOR, $4.99 for parts, $.99 for SHOP SUPPLIES, and $ 3.92 For Tax. She confirmed there was no issue and no work completed, and no leaks. I told her that that seemed a bit excessive, since no repairs were needed, and that I had asked before any work was to be completed, to call me. She said she would have the owner Dean to give me a call to discuss. Later that day I spoke to Dean and it was obvious with his disposition, that he was agitated, that I would even ask for explanation of the cost. He further explained how difficult it is to find good workers these days to show up and that he personally had to diagnose the car himself. When I explained the situation that my daughters car was locked in the shop all weekend, and that no one had ever called us, he stated that it was not his fault the car broke down. I explained that it was not broke down, and that it was only making an unusual sound. He said that he apologized no one called us, and that he personally added the steering fluid as part of the diagnosis. With that said, he wanted to know what I wanted to do about the cost. I stated that I would be willing to meet him 1/2 way, though even that seemed costly since no work was rendered. He then became even more upset and began yelling stating that he should have charged me a minimum of $100 and even that would be fair since he had to take the time to look at the car himself. He also said that he has a minimum $ 83 fee for diagnosing any vehicle and that is disclosed to everyone up front. I thought that didn’t make sense either since the charge was for $59.90. He further yelled that I will pay the charge! I stated that I would, and further explained that I will not be a return customer. At that point, Dean screamed, “you will being paying cash, No Credit card, and No Debit Card!” I stated that would be difficult since I am not in town as I had explained before, and that my daughter is a student. He yelled, Exactly!” and then proceeded to hang up. Be careful, even though this is a AAA certified garage, that does not equate to good service, or honest work. Buyers beware! I would suggest checking with a reputable and recognizable name such as Precision Auto Tune, Midas, or Meineke, especiallly if you live out of town and your child too, is a student. Good luck and scratch this one off the list.

Brian and Gina were so kind at the 10th street shop. Brian found a trash bag and covered the broken window on my husband’s truck so rain would not get in. They made a bad situation for us a lot easier to handle with their professionalism and kindness.

This is a response to Paige lying on my review you treated me wrong and also was the one yelling and talking over me and refusing to work on my vehicle because you were not organized and quoted me wrong. Wasn’t no “misunderstanding “ you couldn’t answer any of my questions cause I read you back the quote YOU gave me!! And all you had to do was just say you made a honest mistake and we could of conducted business but you chose to paint a picture to your manager that I was the aggressor and it was you the entire time leading with emotions and no logic your business is terrible and built around lies avoid this place they rather screw over people than do honest work stay away from this place. On and yeah they charged me for a diagnosis that they’re refusing to email me and have my number blocked these people are scams!!! Greenville Nc location

Very appreciative for all of the help today. We had my daughter’s car towed there. We did not receive good news but Shane and everyone at the front desk were absolutely incredible. Capital will be our go to in Greenville moving forward.

While not automotive related directly, this morning, I discovered a cat in my car under the engine and was in panic mode. I called Capital Automotive to see if they could help and immediately they said come up and see if they could. Fortunately, the kitty was rescued and all is well. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

So I received a call from the shop Shaw the “Manager” and Paige the one who did my quote both treated me so bad for asking questions about the quote I was giving from Paige she quoted me $1700 for my repair a few weeks ago today when I went in to pay a portion towards the repairs I was told it was going to be 2900, so I ask Paige how did we get from one price to the next she “instantly” went into a rage and attack mode and started saying she got customers and wasn’t going to argue with me not once did I raise my voice or call her out her name, i stated and reassured her that I wasn’t trying to be rude to her I just wanted to gain understanding on how the quote went up $1200 from the original quote that was giving and she could not explain, she said she don’t where the mix up happened at, I stated I wasn’t confused because I wrote everything down when she first called me with the original quote so that’s what I budgeted for…Shawn the Manager is in the background at this point telling her to hang up on me and grabs the phone and screams “YOU TALKING TO A MAN NOW YOU PUSH OVER “ and refuses to work on my truck and told me to come pick it up and hung up on me, not once did I curse at Paige raise my voice etc I was nothing but respectful and was talked to like a animal GREENVILLE or any surrounding areas I don’t recommend this shop they don’t seem organized in the finance department at all and will add fees when they feel like it I feel as if they should of just admitted that Paige messed up on the quote and we went from there instead they accused me or arguing and cursing her out which never happened I left the call with so many unanswered questions and mood was ruined I went in the shop with such good and hopeful energy little did I know how hateful Shawn and Paige were and this not stopping here I hate that these businesses treat people so low and worthless I will get to the bottom of this. Please avoid this place I was recommended by AAA I will be giving them a call as well.

Regina is one of the best people ever she worked with myself and my daughter trying to get her car fixed doing the inspection helping us with tires like anything we asked she was right there ready to help us and give suggestions as how to fix it like if I lived in Greenville and if my daughter was going to stay in Greenville we would use the shop over and over again and we highly recommend it.

I been doing business with Capitol Auto for years they always did a good job fixing my cars and the prices were always reasonable. I recently had to stop doing business with them after I sent my nephew to have repairs on his car. I paid the bill which I thought was a reasonable price considering the type of repairs and time it took, after I got home I received a call from the lady that took my money, gave me my receipt telling I need to pay more for a total of $125.00 that was wrong after years they lost me as a customer.

They are very helpful! I was stuck at O Riellys i walked over to see what was possible and they managed to fit it in that afternoon. They also completed it that day, they were life savers! It was a little pricy to get it fixed but that all mechanic shops. I'm very appreciative of how helpful and speedy they were.

The man who answered the phone was completely rude. Towed my car without me know then wants to charge me over $500 for a service that I did not ask for. On top of that wanted me only to pay cash, sounds very shady.

I’ve got stories for days about how awful this place is. They’re inconsiderate, untrustworthy, and selfish. I’ve got my car back with mud everywhere on the drivers side. I reported a water leak problem and told them exactly where it was coming from, and they charged me $400 to fix a coolant leak. Recently, I had a SJB for my car and asked how much it’d be for them to install it, they told me $300 excluding programming (which would cost $200). I know where the SJB is located and how to get to it, but out of curiosity I asked why the price was so expensive since I already have the part? They said it’s because of the labor. I asked how much they charge per hour and they said $100. Quite a good joke. I just finished the job yesterday and it took less than 30mins (including driving to the store and back to buy a 10mm socket wrench). It seems like they’re trying to take advantage of college students because most of them just want their cars back and will pay anything for it. I wish I had avoided this place.

My brake line popped in traffic in Greenville, NC. Walked into Shane’s shop after parking in a parking lot close by. Explained I was in trouble and needed help. Shane thankfully agreed and was happy to help, and he did! Got me back on the road in no time. Hard to find this kind of service since the car dealers local to him would not help same day. Since I use my vehicle for home services, I needed my vehicle to make my days wages. Couldn’t ask for a better shop! If you need help or need experienced people to work on your Car or truck, go here and be well taken care of. Cant say enough about such a great bunch of people.

Brought my boyfriends car in yesterday to fix his low beams and they did fix them but all of a sudden was missing a fog light, my boyfriend went in today to see what happened and the lady at the front wasn’t very polite. I just find it hard to believe that he got his lights worked on and all of a sudden he’s missing a fog light but they “had nothing to do with it”.

I LOVED my experience here! The office staff and the mechanics were amazing! Bryan was the mechanic working on my car and between him and the awesome office ladies, I felt like I was getting the best service and best price. I will definitely be going back for every auto issue I have from now on because it is hard to find a place you can trust and this place has mine 100%!! Additionally, if you have AAA, do not hesitate to give this place your service. 10/10 recommend!

I wouldn't suggest this place if your not local...it seems those are the only ones they care to be fair with. I read the reviews before going and the few bad ones seem to have had a similar experience I did. Which I originally took with a grain of salt being in customer service myself. My car was giving me trouble starting while I was out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday. While they seem to have properly diagnosed the issue quickly (the same day I called) thats where the prompt service ended. The receptionist was seemingly helpful even though she herself was having a rough day but I am not sure where the breakdown in communication happened. She kept assuring me my car would be done in 'x' timeframe. First it was end of business the first day, next it was the next morning, then it was by lunch time. When I went at lunchtime (1 pm) to see what was going on the receptionist wasnt there and my car hadn't even been touched. I let the manager and tech know she had informed it would be ready by lunch and they both looked at each other and said of course she did. I was never rushing rather asking for a timeline so I could plan my trip home and ride there, nothing more. So when the end of day 2 came and I was told to be there by 5 only to find out they had ordered the wrong part (a starter for an automatic car when mine is manual) I only got excuses and a smug attitude from the manager. I wasn't yelling or mad just not sure what to believe/trust at that point. The manager first told me they could put my old starter back in and call it a day, knowing good an well no one wants a faulty starter, then he called another part store(next door) and told me they would have the part the next morning and could have the job done in 30 minutes (since my cars starter was sitting on their reception desk) He checked the estimate/labor which was quoted at 1 hour, talked to the technician/mechanic and said that everything looked good. Then comes the upsetting part, they added another hour of labor to my total when I got there on day 3 making it about 380 instead of the 280 I was told. I could overlook the errors and even the smugness and misinformation up until that point, I just wanted to be home but it was clear to me they just felt like adding more cost because they could. Normally when shops screw up (order the wrong part) they apologize not add more labor costs. The manager wouldn't even bother to show his face or explain why now an additional hour of time was being billed when he checked it over with his tech the night before. The receptionist still handled herself well not sure what the game is but I certainly wouldn't trust them again or recommend them. I only chose this place over the other 2 shops I had called because someone from the family I was visiting had recommend them.

Amazing shop. Best and cheapest in town. Only place I get my car inspected. My brother is my mechanic but if he’s too busy, this is the only I trust. The mechanics are truthful and trustworthy. And the prices are honestly the best in town. I recommend this place for all your car needs. Towing, mechanical work and inspections.

I have found my go to auto repair shop!!! I have a truck that was leaking water. I suspected it was from the radiator, but was hoping that wasn’t the case. Well, it was the radiator. I called on Tuesday (this was Labor Day Weekend so they were closed on Monday). They came and towed my truck to the shop and explained that it could be a couple of days before they could even look at it, which I totally understood, especially since it was a short week to begin with. Shane called me on Thursday around 1:30 pm to tell me that I needed a new radiator and how much it was going to cost. I was actually a little surprised because with the prices of everything these days I honestly expected it to be more. Don’t get me wrong, that kind of repair is expensive, I was just happy that it wasn’t any more than it was!!! So I really wasn’t expecting the call at 4:30 telling me that my truck was ready!!! I figured maybe they would get to it the next day!!! As far as I’m concerned they went above and beyond to help me and I couldn’t be happier with every single person that I encountered through the entire process!! Professional, kind, helpful, fair, honest respectful, courteous … I could go on .. I mean, no one wants to be in a position where your vehicle needs repairs, but everyone at this shop helped make my experience as painless as possible. I will definitely go back for whatever I need in the future and I highly recommend them to anyone that needs auto service!!!

Top Notch Service. I highly recommend. Those with European cars definitely should check with them - I own a Volvo C30 R Design & they do excellent work. Get a quote from em. They don't rush the work. Rushing means a possible mistake. Mechanics are busy because they do an excellent job. Believe In Greenville Support Local, Independent Businesses.

I have been here many times and never disappointed. They fix up my car in such a timely manner and the staff is so helpful. The other day I had a tire running flat and they were able to put air in the tire and check out the tire for leaks for free!!! I highly recommend for college students looking for an auto shop!!

I love this shop. Excellent prices! Fast service. Didn't charge for diagnostics. Welcoming casual atmosphere without being unprofessional. They've kept my 2002 Explorer on the road for significantly less than any other shop in town. They don't offer financing, but they certainly won't rip you off.

I am a first time customer and will not be going anyplace else. The young woman at front desk is very very nice. She explained all the issues my car had. After two flat tires at once. My car was good as new the next morning. They went above and beyond fixing all the issues the car had from reattaching my bumper to fixing my rim. I never expected to be treated so nice. And have all my problems with the car fixed so quickly. I would recomend them to anybody.

These guys are great. Had a problem with my SUV when accelerating and i could not figure out what it was myself so i took it in. Within 15 minutes of Shane driving it he reproduced the problem and knew exactly what it was. He knew to check fuel pressure and found it was a faulty fuel pump. He got a new one and had it in my vehicle within the hour. I highly recommend these guys. All of them know their stuff and above all it is quality service for half the price!

Got in a car accident, they told me my radiator was busted and that the vehicle needed to be towed. Turns out the radiator was fine and the vehicle was completely drivable! Thanks for charging me $200 to tow a completely drivable vehicle 3 minutes down the road.
