I see some reviews about the lady at the front desk being rude. In my experience, she can come off that way, but she's honest. I'd rather someone be honest and kinda rude than have a sweet-talking liar. With that out of the way, the techs are great. They do honest and good work. I'm very picky about who works on my vehicles and I highly recommend this shop to anyone.
East Coast Power Train is the best around! My husband and I have been taking our vehicles there for years. The owners Angel and Rance and fantastic, incredibly knowledgeable and always do a great job from start to finish. We don’t trust anyone else with our vehicles!
I read that they do great work. So I Called this morning to schedule an appointment and the woman who answered the phone was incredibly rude. I mean, OVERTLY rude. Told me she was really busy and didn’t have time to speak to me. To those of you who had “great customer service”, consider yourself lucky you did not cross paths with this lady. I would never recommend anyone go here.
I came in to schedule a timing belt/water pump change for my wife’s car and the lady at the reception desk was extremely rude from the second I walked in. She acted like I was doing something wrong by coming in her place of business. I didn’t have a chance to tell her what I needed before the attitude started. I got tired of it, said I’ll see you later, and walked out. Will not be back and would not recommend. From the other reviews, I see I am not the only one who has had this sort of experience.
I don't know what I would do without these guys! Family place and honest! Also reasonable prices! What more could you ask for? Always straight forward and explains everything.
I have never met someone like Angel before, I absolutely enjoy her. Brought in 2 of my vehicles, she worked me in and didnt have to. Will continue to bring her all my business.
I have had one of the worst experience with this place. They tell you things that aren’t true they make false promises angel is rude so is the rest of them. I am going to pull my car out as we speak. All I needed was my AC worked on, they have had there for a week almost and they keep telling me different things such as it wasn’t on the truck or we got the pot and it was broken or we missed it altogether. This is unacceptable They are extremely rude. I said well I should get some sort of a discount for the aggravation because I had to borrow families vehicles to get to work for a week. I will never ever ever recommend that place or bring my vehicle there ever.
The service is prompt, if he said it will be ready by 5 it’s ready by 5! He fair with his prices and service is always A1. I promise I will not take my car to anyone else again!
ECP's mechanical work is decent but their customer service is definitely the worst I've ever encountered! Angel, the owner's wife, waits on all the customers and is rude, unpleasant, profane and, in my opinion, should not be working any position in customer service! Her husband needs to fire her ASAP for everyone's sake! Life is too short to ever have to deal with people like her!
Rance is the most knowledgeable mechanic anywhere! Such a warm spirit when he discusses your car issues. I only wish his wife didn't use fowl language when talking with customers ?
After being messed around at some other professional shops in Wilmington, I was recommended to this place . I drove over and spoke to the owner and explained the issue I was having with a custom car, and he gave me a ball park price. Dropped the car off and let him do his thing. The repair was made correctly ( after another shop tried and failed) and the price was exponentially lower than the other shop wanted to charge . I brought up a second vehicle i own as im too old to be crawling on the floor anymore. I knew what was wrong with it but just couldnt do it myself. These guys fixed the truck perfectly, and they verified my thoughts on what was wrong. It seems like a strange thing to say that mechanics are honest these days but I totally trust these guys, and their prices are reasonable. I will gladly refer anyone to them, and will continue to bring my stuff there. and for 45 years i did all my own repairs . This is the shop you want to go to
I had the opportunity to meet these great people a few months ago I had car trouble in Burgaw a few months ago and I called the dealership that I have done business with since I moved to the area and they told me they couldn't help me because they were booked up for the next few weeks my car somebody recommended this garage I called them a wrecker came and picked up my car I got great service they fixed my car and a other problem I had probably with at a reasonable price I would recommend them to anyone
Always friendly, professional, service. Been taking my vehicle there for the last 4-5 years. Won't take it anywhere else!

The owners and staff are wonderful and reasonably price for the service and very honest what need to be done. And will to work with you to make sure car is fixed the right way
We had broken down on I-40 returning from a long weekend beach trip. We limped our Ram pickup to East Coast Powertrain where Angel and Rance worked us into their busy work schedule. Rance quickly diagnosed the issue, they found the needed part, picked it up, and we were back on the road before we knew it. They recognized our difficult situation and provided great service to resolve it. Highly recommend!
These people are amazing! We were traveling cross-country when we broke down in Burgaw. East Coast Powertrain was recommended to us and they made sure we were taken care of! We became a priority to them and they got us back on the road as soon as they could. Very knowledgeable, especially with Chevy diesel trucks. And very reasonable on cost. Had my Accord’s SRS module replaced. Called Angel & Rance at East Coast Powertrain and they were on it!!!
First I took my Honda to the “Honda specialist”who had my car for 3 weeks, due to not being able to get the SRS part in. Picked car up without being fixed and called Angel & Rance at East Coast Powertrain to help. It only took them about 1 1/2 weeks and That’s getting the part and fixing it. I won’t be taking my Honda to anyone else besides East Coast Powertrain!!! Thank you Angel & Rance

This is a good place to get car work done. They are the first mechanic that I've ever gone to where I genuinely left feeling like they under charged me. That's on multiple occasions too. You can also depend on them to honestly let you know when a certain service would be better performed somewhere else. This a no brainier.
My car broke down on interstate 40, I was moving to North Carolina from upstate NY. I called AAA and they told me I had to find a place to have my car towed. Not knowing where to go I google it. I called several places before finding East Coast Powertrain. Angel the receptionist could not have been kinder, I immediately relaxed. The next day I returned to check on my car and Angel and the owner could not have been nicer to us. Thanks for making us glad to be living in North Carolina, you guys are great, I highly recommend this place!
Me and my dad had problems with his van and Rance looked at it with us while he was very busy. He treated us really good. He eventually helped us figure out what was the problem. Recommended!!
Great place. I had my car my car inspected there yesterday. Well worth the extra 20 minute drive instead of going to the closer "good 'ole boy" place. No rudeness, gossip, or long wait. Plus, a thorough true inspection.
They were friendly and quick. No appointment necessary and no vulgarity, profanity or gossip. I am so glad that I found them and will use them again. Plus they had a friendly, welcoming environment without trying to upsale with unnecessary parts.
Do yourself a favor and give them a try. So glad that I did.

Master mechanic and amazing. Needed a oil pressure sensor and another place said it was a 4 1/2 hour job. Rance did it in less then half hour. If your check engine light is on I would take it to him.
East Coast Powertrain of Burgaw is a wonderful Business. The owner is so very friendly and kind. He is all about making sure he give you the very best of care. I always feel at home everytime I go there, I'm so glad I had the opportunity to meet him. What a wonderful God fearing person he is..I love it there, you must visit and get some work done, he is truly awesome..:)
