Shawn Howard is and absolute great guy. He went above and beyond to help me when my Jeep was in need. My Jeep went into limp mode and I needed two sensors after coming off I40 heading to the beach. I came in the store and His coworker helped me check out, she was awesome and very helpful also. He then proceeded to come out and help me with my issues. He was great at helping and solving my problems and get me back on the road to my destination. He also offered me his cell phone number to make sure I didn’t break down after leaving. He said he had some people that would help along my way if I was to break down again. We need more people like this gentleman in this world. I will be stopping back by at a later date.
Bought a radiator from advance in burgaw ...the next day ...got the car tore down and opened up the box to find a defective radiator...called them up and was told it would be shipped in 3 days ...or I go to the one up in New Hanover and exchange it ....had to pay someone to take me ....and was out in the dark and cold putting it back together....none of that was called for if the part was right ...was told that it not on us ....but it is ....and I'll never shop at that store again ..I'll walk before I buy anything from yall rude people who don't give a darn about your customers....the guy at the other store was nice and helpful and said sorry and he gave me a 20%off coupon for that day but I didn't need anything else...pretty much was told them are the brakes at the burgaw store ....totally unprofessional and like a swift kick in the nuts
Needed a car battery and the nicest man waited on me and in within 30 minutes I was out of their and had found some other things I needed at a reasonable price and it was a better product than I had been using
The person checking me out (Julio) did not want to answer any of my question or that he even even really cared to be there. Other workers were friendly but just not the customer service I am used to from the Wilmington stores.

Had a great experience buying a replacement bulb. Gentry provided impeccable customer service. He happily helped make sure we found the right bulb for our car. Friendly, polite and a true professional. He's an asset to the store and a true gentleman.

I really appreciated the help and service I received last night when the family van clunked into the parking lot midway on our journey to Myrtle Beach. With a few tools i was able to replace a bad spark plug in the parking lot and make it safely to our destination.
Went to buy battery the employee insisted they had to replace it. Well I guess no one there gets training because employees didn't know what they were doing and in process broke parts in my motor and possibly damage battery I just paid for so I'm calling corporate in morning and seeing how they plan to fix what their employees messed up hopefully there are better than their burgaw employees

Great auto parts store. Knowledge and friendly staff. Always willing to help. Even though there are now new competitor stores in the area, this place has them all beat with the level of service and knowledge staff they have.
The staff was helpful since I wasnt entirely sure I had the right battery for my lawn mower, but they were a big help! They also informed me of their return policy in case I didnt use it, which was great since we were trying to fix multiple things at once.
I mean it's an Advance Auto Parts, it's all about the staff because all this stores are the same. The staff is mostly okay they've got a few in there that don't really know that much but they know how to use the computer you're better off if you know what you need when you walk in the door they will send you out without stuff if you don't make a list. For example I sent my brother up to get a wheel bearing kit for his truck so I could replace it they sold him wheel bearings inner and outer but no grease seal and no cotter pin they didn't even offer it and he didn't know he needed it because he's not a mechanic it's little stuff like that and it's happened several times they got too many girls working in there that just don't have any experience outside of the computer, but it's Burgaw so you get what you get
Went in last night to order a repair manual and get a few small items. Girl informed me books are mostly online now so I asked her to order me one. She asked what kind of car I had more than a few times and kept getting it wrong. According to her I drive a 1918 Chevy... I actually drive a new Dodge. Finally, after going through a long process of repeating what my car was, she asked me if Dodge was an American made car. It doesn't matter if she was new or not, she should not have been left alone in the store if she knew so little about even general automotive information. Went home and ordered the stuff myself online. No way I'll go back there and risk dealing with her again.
Ill called and waited for ten minutes on hold only to get hung up on. I was in the parking lot the whole time and it was only one customer there. By the time I walked in the store I witnessed the employees pick up the phone and hang up instantly without even answering me as the customer which was on the other end of the phone line....smh. I wouldve bought more but i changed my mind because of this incedent. I recommend that you shouldnt call this store...Just go in I guess?♂️ not me anymore.
I needed some windshield wiper blades the lady at the cashier assist me with my purchase and then came out and put them on in the rain she was the best thank you Advance Auto
Every time I've gone in they've had the part I need in stock and at the best price in town. The most recent visit was to get my battery tested, and the gentleman was polite and honest and even went so far as to charge the battery up for me to make sure it was ready to start my vehicle. I can't recommend them enough if you're doing repairs yourself.
Just like any other AAP has most of the parts you need. You go early enough you can get a part you need the same day if they don't have it in stock. Your best bet is to know what you need when you go in there because if you get someone that knows nothing about cars you might end up buying the wrong part ? or just send your husband ?????♀️
I stopped here after having my vehicle jump-started by a friend to see whether my battery was bad or whether I needed a starter. A lady employee came out with her testing material, which determined that there was nothing wrong with my battery or starter. I still don't know why I had a dead battery in the first place, but the employee was very helpful and I only waited two or three minutes before she came outside to help.
