Great service from the tow truck driver they sent and the service I received from Bruce and crew once they had the car in their shop. My daughter's old Honda Accord had it's starter go bad in the parking lot of Dick's and she'd had to leave it there and take an Uber to work. My usual mechanic in Indian Trail was backlogged and said it might be the next day before he could even get it in. The tow truck driver recommended their own shop right up the street. Bruce to the rescue! Their tow truck had arrived in about 20mins from me making my call to AAA and not only were they able to find a remanufactured starter for 200 dollars less than a new one, but also took seriously my concern that we were about to head out of town leaving my daughter with no car. Having received the car at around 9AM'ish, they literally called me letting me know it was ready while I was eating lunch! Nice! My daughter is back on the road and I am off on vacation. Thank you Bruce and the MT&A gang! I hopefully won't need you anytime soon, but you are definitely on my list for future needs.

I have been using Matthews Towing & Automotive for at least a decade. First for my 2001 Jeep Cherokee (it had a long life!) and now my 2017 Honda Pilot. I was planning on driving my elderly parents this summer on some long trips and I wanted to be sure there were no hiccups (dead battery, etc), at least those that I could prevent. Tom and his team took my car in straight-away. They worked on it and declared it ready. They were right - I had no hiccups with my car. I did however encounter a rock with my windshield, but that is another story.

From the office staff to the tow truck driver Shaun they provided excellent communication, very fast towing (under 30 min from when I contacted AAA) and Shaun was very careful and exercised caution when loading our vehicle on the flat bed. Communication after also was great calling me to tell me who they left the keys with. Highly recommend!!

Steven from Matthews Towing came out to help me with a flat this morning. He was amazing and such a great guy. Communicated well, efficient, quick, knowledgeable and just pleasant. Highly recommend!

Exceptional Service Even From the New Team Member! I was in a tough spot and needed a tow quickly. They got out to me fast and handled everything with care and professionalism. The driver was polite, efficient, and truly made me feel taken care of during a stressful moment. I also want to give a special shoutout to the lady who answered the phone I found out she was new to the business, but you would never know it! She was patient, clear, and made sure all my questions were answered. She went the extra mile to make sure I was taken care of. Thank you so much for the outstanding service!

Steve came out and picked up my Mercedes Benz and put it on the flatbed. He did a great job and he was really nice and professional. They are very well priced. I recommend this business.

I have an '04 Crysler Crossfire. It's essentially the same car as the SLK320 Mercedes. Crysler dealers won't work on it. They say take it to a Mercedes dealer. Mercedes says take to to Crysler. I took it to Matthews Towing and Automotive for a leaking valve cover gasket. Bruce replaced the gasket and some other items at about half the cost of other quotes I had gotten. He explained what he did. I highly recommend Matthews Towing and Automotive. They do great work and at great prices.

When your ball and joint and control arm connected to your tire breaks. Damien and his co-worker came through for us. Thye had to get creative and use one of their tow trucks as a jack to get my truck onto the tow bed without doing any more damage. They were very professional, hard working, creative and innovative!!! Thank you for taking care of my "Big Black". He was in safe hands. Job well done!!

My car wouldn’t start and they came out and towed my car and I was able to ride with them to the dealership. For my first time using the service, they were great and so helpful. He recommended who to talk to at the dealership and they took care of me right away. The tow service made it much less stressful for me to take care of the car! Thank you so much! I appreciate it

The tow truck arrived in a timely fashion and towed it to Hendrick Mercedes on Independence. I was present for the tow away but was not present for the drop off. The Hendricks specialist documented that the front bumper tow cover was not present and was not given to the attendant at Hendrick Mercedes Services department. Pictures were taken to document the care and the missing piece. I called AAA and Mathews Towing and Automotive repair. Neither would accept responsibility for the missing part. So I am left with paying for a $200.00 part. I am or was a 30 year member of AAA but I will be cancelling my service henceforth. I do not recommend neither AAA or Matthews Towing and Automotive. And to date neither has called me and offered an apology much less make amends.

My wife and I just returned from a trip around the country. (Over 7000 miles) Before we left, we took our car to Matthews Towing to get everything checked. They fixed a few things and made sure our car was ready to go before we left. I have never trusted a mechanic more than I do this group of people. Thank you to the whole team. We made it home safe from because of you.

I Needed a tow when my car started belching white smoke, and called Matthews Towing for the job. Kevin was prompt and friendly, and assured us he'd get the job done. He even called and sent a photo of my car in the mechanics lot. Would definitely recommend Kevin and the Matthews towing team for all things towing and repair.

I have used Matthews Towing a few times via AAA and similar auto/towing clubs, and I've always found they take care of my car in a professional, courteous and expedient manner. The drivers have always been pleasant and communication with the office quick, which is always nice, given none of us are having the best day when our vehicle needs a tow!

No I didn't forget... And I wasn't going to do it... But every time I get in my car I get angry at the damage that they did. 1. They destroyed my dashboard in order to fix something under the hood. They literally just threw it back in and said that it was too difficult to find a replacement dashboard so oh well. Now I have to ride around with engine noise and fumes that come from under the hood. 2 They took my hood off to complete the same service and didn't put it back on correctly. The lifters were disconnected and thehook that props the hood up was missing. I confronted them about this and was told that they would fix it "as a courtesy". But is it really a courtesy that you had to fix something that you broke in the first place? Lucky me. 3. I installed a new stereo from Best Buy prior to taking my car to have it serviced. I got my car back and the stereo wires, hands free microphone were totally screwed. Now I can't use the darn thing because the sensors that connect the car functions to the stereo don't work. I have no Bluetooth, and I can't reset any of the factory settings because the stereo won't acknowledge the car is even in park. Who's going to have to pay for all this? Bottom line...They used to be excellent before the pandemic. Not sure what happened, but the quality of service really tanked.

I was assigned Matthews Towing by AAA and I couldn’t be more satisfied with my experience. The gentleman that helped tow my car was so kind and he did well transporting my vehicle. I liked how he held conversation with us during the process and was very kind with every word he spoke. We followed him to where my car was going and he was a great driver. He followed all road laws and it made my mind at ease knowing a safe and law abiding person was transporting my vehicle! Would recommend this company to anyone!

Horrible experience. My husband waited a total of 4 hours (night time & in a parking lot) ) to tow our Jeep. We have AAA but unfortunately they were busy and contracted out with Matthews Towing. They sent 2 different types of trucks over 4 hrs & said they could not finish the job. We had to leave our vehicle overnight and AAA came out and successfully towed it. Mathews Towing could have done it, but they quit on the job. They get paid to show up, not to finish the job. Insane. We will be filing a complaint with AAA but if you're sitting on the side of the road right now trying to figure out who to call , don't call them!

Matthews Towing is awesome. Shout out to Lauren!! AAA left me hanging on the side of the freeway waiting 2 hours for a battery. They then proceed to tell me that the next truck will be there in 3 more hours! Lauren worked her magic and got me a tow truck within the hour. She also followed up with me once my car arrived at the facility. Great customer service, I can’t thank her enough for all her help.

I went to a neighbor's house to provide medical transportation for her. My battery died in her driveway. I have AAA, so I called them and Matthews Towing arrived and I purchased a battery from them and they installed it and left. When I started the car, lights started flashing indicating there is a problem. I called Matthews towing and they said it was normal and to drive it. I drove the car to my reputable mechanic who checked it out. The window and door lock would not work. The mechanic checked it out and determine a fuse was blown whenever the battery was installed. The bill was $50.00. I called Matthews towing who requested the bill in order to reimburse me. I made a copy and sent it that day. A couple of weeks later I called to check on it and they informed me the bill had not been received. I made another copy and sent to them. Same thing. They said they didn't receive the bill. I would not recommend using Matthews Towing again.

Matthews Towing showed up to take my vehicle to the mechanic. The driver backed in to my vehicle breaking the tail light and denting the bumper. The driver took full responsibility and gave us the number to the owner of the company. We called Tom Emech (registered owner of company on NC Secretary of State website) and he apologized and said he would send a new tail light and to get estimates and he would just cut us a check for the repairs. This happened in august 2022 and here it is almost November and he has done everything he can to avoid our phone calls. We try to support small business whenever we can and this is making it very hard. Just do the right thing!!

If I could leave less I would. My husband and I own a mechanic shop and this company was delivering a car to our neighbor (we share a parking lot). He was backing in for some reason, the parking lot is big enough for them to pull in and turn around, and he backed in to one of our customers vehicles hard. Completely dented the fender and bumper. We just got an alignment on this truck so knocked out too. When we approached the driver we expected him to be apologetic, while he was nice per say, he just kept saying “it’s not a big deal” and “it was an accident”. Accidents do happen but this one could have been prevented. The driver was laughing at how upset my husband was instead of being sympathetic. We called this company and got the same tone from the receptionist. Not once did anyone even apologize or take responsibility. They stated they would contact our customer and square it away with them. I just want to ensure my customer, who trusted us with their vehicle, gets better customer service then we did. I added a picture to show the space and that there was plenty of room. Update- it’s July 18th, 3 weeks later and the vehicle has not been repaired at all.

Dead alternator and Reggie came out from Matthews Towing & Automotive. It was 7am in the morning and feeezing outside. Reggie was a nice guy and very helpful. He walked up with a smile on his face and helped me get my car towed. He was quick and efficient and assured me my vehicle was in good hands. I can’t say thank you enough to Reggie for giving legendary customer service. You don’t see that a lot these days and I am VERY appreciative. Thank You Reggie!
