Fred’s did a great job for us! Jackson helped us troubleshoot a difficult situation & get our van loaded up out of a tight space & off to get repaired. Very knowledgeable & helpful!

It’s far and few between I give great reviews like this, especially for tow companies. However, I will say that experience I got from this tow company was not what I had ever expected, and probably the best I have ever received in the 35 years of my life. Having wrecked multiple cars, been stuck in ditches, snowbanks, lakes, mud, and more this is saying a lot. Tonight I took a friend of mine to go see if the washout was still there. For anyone who had grown up in Henderson about 10-15 years ago, they definitely know what this area is. Not thinking about it, because we had taken many rear wheel drive vehicles down there before, I decided to take my 2016 Lexus like an idiot. My friend didn’t tell me they had rained severely last night and was planning on raining again tonight. By the time, I figured that out, it was too late. I was stuck in about 10 inches of mud. I’m going to get myself out of it. I wasn’t doing myself any favors I called Verizon, who dispatched Fred’s towing. I had heard bad things and good things about Fred’s towing from 15 years ago. However, I was greeted by Jackson the driver who called me first on the phone, who had a down to earth personality, and built good rapport. I was in contacted by Cheyenne, in their dispatch team and told them where I was stuck and said it would probably be easier to get a four-wheel-drive truck to pull me out. They typically don’t have those, they either have flatbeds or wreckers. Well, Cheyenne, BJ, and Jackson came out there to get me out after hours, and she brought her personal Duramax diesel. Coming down to it due to my location on the road Verizon probably wasn’t gonna pay for it. I was too far off the road. I was in between jobs, didn’t know this, and didn’t have the money to put the bill, which was embarrassing. Cheyenne told me not to worry about it. That is an experience that you do not see much these days. Regardless of the price I will be going to Fred’s towing if I’m ever in that area in the future due to this experience. The customer service is the way it should be

I am giving them a one because of my experience. I called to see if my mom could pick my things up out of my car before I released being that I had no transportation, hence the reason I am even talking to them. I was told no she could not even with an I.D. I was told I had to be the one to get my things because I was the registered owner. I told her I am a nurse I work 7a-7p most days and you guys are not open on the weekends. She still said no so I simply told the lady on the phone “well I do not release my vehicle to Geico because I need my things out of it.” This is the 16th, the only day I have called the company ever. The next day I get a notification saying the alarm was triggered on my car so I called Fred’s. I was told that the car was picked up and release was given on the 15th. I instantly told the lady I did not give anyone consent, I did not even call them on the 15th. Could not tell me who gave consent or anything but when I called on the “16th” asked me all types of questions about the vehicle including VIN number but you don’t know who gave you consent. It’s complete BS. Then acting nonchalant about the situation because it’s not their stuff that is gone.

(7:47pm) We contacted Fred’s Towing for an over turned truck and Ms.Owen was our point of contact. We sent Ms.Owen the location of the truck and pictures of the situation and asked for a ballpark estimate of the service. Ms.Owen stated she couldn’t provide any sort of ballpark price because she doesn’t do the billing or invoicing. We wanted to keep this service as cost effective as possible by only having them stand the truck upright and off the road, there was a church parking lot a few feet from the turn over. Ms.Owen stated we’d have to see if the state trooper would allow this. I personally spoke with the trooper on scene and he confirmed that was perfectly okay with him. I then called Ms.Owen back and let her know the trooper was okay with us leaving the truck off the road on the shoulder or in the church parking lot. This is where things took a turn for the worst and Ms.Owen lost all professionalism. We had no choice at this point as the police scene said it needed to be moved right away. At 8:38pm, Fred’s arrived and had the truck stood upright at 9:47pm. I asked my driver to check the fluids ( motor oil, coolant ) to see if the truck was able to drive home. The damage was very minimal, broken passenger side mirror and a turn signal. The truck checked out and the driver was comfortable driving home. I received a phone call from Ms.Owen at 9:54pm stating our invoice was $21,050 and that it needed to be paid immediately or they were going to take our truck, mind you Ms.Owen stated she doesn’t do any on the invoicing or billing initially. I asked why the invoice was so high and she stated they charge by the hour but couldn’t let me know the hourly rates or any details at all. She sent me a screenshot of a QR Code for a money transfer app called Zelle and stated she could not provide an invoice until Monday but wanted me to pay all the money right then. This was a huge red flag as I also own businesses and would never expect someone to pay me anything at all without a proper invoice. I stated that I felt more comfortable paying when i was able to be provided an invoice, at least something i could turn into my insurance company. She then got extremely unprofessional and started yelling at me on the phone to pay and hung up on me as I heard her in the background yelling at someone to hook up to the front of our truck. I called my driver and filled him in and asked him to head towards our shop, it was late and he was ready to be home with his family. On his way back, a police officer pulled him over followed by a Fred’s Towing truck. The tow truck pulled in front of the truck and started hooking up to it! I then received a text message for a link to an payment link for $38,065.00 with absolutely no details whatsoever, followed by a call from Ms.Owen very unprofessionally stating that i needed to pay right now or they’re going to take our truck to Henderson North Carolina. I stated that it’s 10:00pm, and there’s no way possible to pay that much money through a money transfer app on your phone. I was more than happy to pay Monday when she could provide an invoice and offer an actual form of payment besides an app on my phone. At the point, I was very adamant on speaking with the owner of Fred’s because we felt like we were getting robbed! The deputy sheriff on scene recommended that we try and speak with Mr. Fred and reiterated that Ms.Owen isn’t a good representation of their company. I asked Ms.Owen a few times to speak with the owner of the course of this night and it just seemed to make her even more angry. At 11:49, I received a phone call from the owner. Although, I think there is no possible way to justify the amounted invoice he stated that if we can pay them $15,000 right now that he’ll unhook from the truck and let the driver drive home. We were asked to transfer money through Zelle, Cash App and Venmo to get the paid. At this I was mostly concerned about getting my employee home to his family. We sent Fred’s Towing $15,000 through the various apps and the truck was driven home.

Unfortunately, this is the third time I've had to call in the three and a half years I've had my car. The dispatcher and drivers are always friendly and efficient. Today, DH picked up my car and me in Louisburg in half the time the dispatcher estimated, and took us to Crossroads Ford in Henderson. He was fast and friendly!

Bill was out to use truck to crane unload some transformers in our yard . They are great to work with and always can be relied on when needed. From Dispatch to the drivers they are a great team to work with.

I wanted to thank both Wendy and David for their professionalism. It was great having a company nearby that meet our towing needs in a quick manner. Keep up the good work! It’s not everyday you need a tow service but when you do, you want to be able to call on a knowledgeable and professional company to get the job efficiently as possible. Thank you!

? Terrible Experience One of my vehicles was towed to this location, and they refused to give me any information about its condition. I live two hours away and had to make the trip twice—all because they wouldn’t let me see the car or even tell me what shape it was in. Completely unprofessional and frustrating. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Manager said job wouldn’t be done today, due to lack of time left in work day, but and Dre and Shaun sympathized and stayed over, went above and beyond to fix my truck for me to be able to deliver my load… I am extremely grateful for their professionalism and expertise in their mechanical field. They deserve and plenty of respect for what they do. I recommend every driver to go to Fred’s. ?

Dre was absolutely great. Knew what the problem was in 2 minutes. Good thing they didn't listen to my trouble shooting. Fixed it the right way. I'm very happy. I think Dre has a bright future in his chosen career!

I had a great experience with these guys. Extremely professional at a reasonable price. Corey got to my location within 10 minutes after my call and gave me a ride back to civilization so I wasn't stranded on the side of the road.

I Hit a tire in the middle Of the road and popped the air line off the air tank. My dispatch said it would be an hour to an hour and a half before roadside showed up. Dre from Fred’s towing and transport inc showed up in less than 15 minutes!!! My air leak was fixed and I was back on the road within 30 minutes. Fastest response I’ve ever witnessed. Dre was very professional and quick to identify the issue and get it fixed to get me back rolling. Highly recommend!!!

Very honest and reputable. Took full responsibility of rocks that flew off of one of their roll back tow trucks and cracked my windshield. Paid for replacement of my windshield. Very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!!

Called at 4:22 am for roadside assistance and the Lady said they'd be here in 60 minutes. I called back in an hour for an update and she told me it hasn't been an hour. I politely said I called 1 hour ago. She rudely replied, well patience is a virtue and he had to go get tires. I politely replied, I wasn't being rude, I was just checking for an update. She hung up. The driver never showed up for the service call. I've been sitting on the side of the road for 5 hours. Truly Amazing How She Treats Someone That Just Wanted A Tire Fixed. If You Don't Want Somebody's Business, Just Say That.

They were straight up with me said it’ll be a couple of hours. Got there quick hooked my semi truck and trailer up and we were on the way. I forgot the drivers name but he was a good guy knowledgeable and told me about his job. If you need them please call them.

Wow, one of the best experiences I’ve had with any business in years. Bill showed up within minutes, went the extra mile to help me get 10 tons of sand out of my dump truck. Saved me a ton of money and time. If the boss at Fred’s is reading this, please get Bill a raise or a fat bonus check. It’s incredibly hard to find good guys these days. Job well done!!

These guys are the real deal. 1st time I've had to use heavy recovery in my years driving big truck, and they were qwick to respond, qwick to get it out, and did a great job fixing my truck back up for the road. Great group of people in thier shop and office.
