It was my next to last day of vacation on the Outer Banks when my Buick LeSabre suddenly started misfiring badly ….I had driven down from Maine two weeks before just after passing State Inspection and having my regular mechanic look the car over for potential troubles that needed taken care of before making the long vacation trip….and now I found myself calling around to every auto repair shop in Kitty Hawk (where I had been staying ) trying to get my car repaired quickly because I needed to be back at work on time. It was becoming a nightmare trying to get help. Finally, after reading all the customer reviews on the Internet, I focused on trying to get AUTO MAN LLC in Kitty Hawk to do the troubleshooting and repair because of their highest overall ratings. When I made a phone call to John at AUTO MAN he initially told me that he was booked solid with appointments for the next two weeks with his regular customers. But he listened to my plight, and told me that he would ‘squeeze me in’ that very afternoon and sure enough he quickly diagnosed the problem as a failed ignition coil and replaced it quickly and by the end of the day, I was back on the road with a smooth running engine again. John was truly a God-send in acting as a modern-day Good Samaritan and I experienced first-hand that all the 5.0 ratings folks have given him are absolutely TRUE !

I was visiting from Richmond Va. My battery light came on and suspected alternator. After several calls and no success with rapid repair. Most places were two weeks out. My daughter asked a nice lady in Ben Franklins for recommendations and she called Auto Man…. Thank God they had a cancellation and took my car same day repair😃😃. They were so very helpful and went out of their way to provide efficient and affordable repair and exceptional customer service!! I highly recommend and gave 5 stars!
I cannot say enough good things about Automan!! Came down on vacation and battery light came on. I needed a repair and fast!! Called around everyone was at least 2 weeks out. Found one other shop who's price seemed pretty high. Found Automan from Google and his price was more than half off!! I got the car there late in the day and they had replaced my alternator before 10 am the next day. I will say I lucked out due to a cancellation. I highly recommend Automan for quick, quality service at reasonable price. Dana was super helpful and made a stressful situation so much easier. They deserve more than 5 stars!
Last day of our weekly vacation and my car started acting up and even though they were booked the owner John took my car and saved the day. Talk about service! Recommend this shop to anyone in the area who needs repair.
