I took my truck to this shop d/t steering pump fluid leaking,David and his crew are friendly,patient (in and out few times )and knowledgeable,David spent lots of time and did quite a few research,finally got the problem fixed. I am definitely going to stick with them Great job,guys!

After trying to deal with a dealership and their overpriced repair suggestions, I was referred to Skyland Exxon by another local shop that didn’t have availability. I’m really glad they sent me here. David was highly professional and straightforward from start to finish. The team worked efficiently, explained everything clearly, and the repair was done right the first time. Honestly, at first I wasn’t sure what to expect since it’s attached to a gas station — but after today’s experience, this will be my go-to repair shop in the area. Great service, fair prices, and trustworthy people. Highly recommended.

After being told elsewhere that I needed to replace my new tire due to a nail puncture, I brought my vehicle to this location for a second opinion. Even though the shop was very busy upon arrival I was greeted immediately by the front desk and within about 10 minutes my car was already being worked on! After they lifted it, turned out my tire had more than just a single nail but instead of pushing me to replace it, the team carefully assessed the damage, explained the risks, and walked me through my options so I could make an informed decision. I chose to go ahead with a patch, and I was in and out in under 30 minutes with no further issues and was totally affordable! 100% recommend and will absolutely come back for further car needs! A truly wonderful team that delivers honest, efficient, affordable, and friendly service!!

I've been coming to this station for a long time and various services. Today was my first bad experience. I need an alignment. It's a rainy day. Three mechanics are standing outside of an empty Bay talking and laughing when I pulled up. The woman inside said I need an appointment and need to leave it for a few hours. Really? 3 mechanics with nothing to do can't handle an alignment without an appointment? Very disappointed. I hate going to Firestone next door but if you need an appointment and have to leave it for hours, why would I go to Skyland Exxon? I won't go back!

September 18, 2025 I was on my way home to take a trip to Charlotte. My cars communication system messaged me that my tire pressure was low. I needed help. I pulled into Exxons parking lot to ask for help. David came out to look at my tire and brought another person with him. It was determined that my tire had a nail in it and needed to be replaced. I want to mention that I’m an African American woman and David is a Caucasian man. One may ask why that matters. It matters because David cared for my needs like I was family. He called around Arden to get me a good deal on tires. He guided me through the process and made me feel extremely safe. In this climate of racial divide, David renewed my faith in people and reminded me that there are still good people in this world. I’m a fan and will support David’s establishment any time I can.

Came in just yesterday with a 35 year old Bronco, was happy to have David give me an honest opinion which was very much appreciated. Great people, will be coming back.

I think I've been coming here for over 10 years now and I've brought every car I've owned or driven here to get work done and these guys are great at what they do! David and his staff are excellent at what they do. Their knowledge is impeccable and have never steered me wrong! Simply the best around!

10/10 experience! My car broke down right by Advanced Auto Parts and they said it was probably an alternator issue. I called this place up for a tow and he got there in about 20 minutes! I was originally going to have it towed to a mechanic around the area, but I was informed that they also offer mechanic work so I decided to go with them. Boy am I happy I agreed to that! David called me the next morning by 10am with a diagnostic and part in hand ready to go. He was transparent with the pricing and work that it would take and I agreed. He diligently worked to try to make sure he could save my battery (which he did) and he checked out my oil leak while the front was open. The car was ready by 3pm that afternoon with a full run down of everything David saw and did. He was super knowledgable and answered all of my questions with clarity and transparency. He's been in this business for 40 years and you can tell! I can't say enough good things about this place!! I will definitely be coming back here for ALL my future mechanic needs. These are reliable mechanics!!

I called to have my car towed this morning. Stephen showed up in about 20 minutes. He was very kind & did a great job getting my car on the truck.

Highly recommend their towing service!!! My car broke down in a school parking lot, and I had 4 young children with me. Sean from Skyland Exxon was there within 10 minutes! He troubleshooted a way to get my van to start, so we didn’t have to damage it forcing it onto the tow truck. He drove me and my infant to the dealer, and even helped me carry my sleeping baby in the carseat all around the dealership as I was trying to find someone to help us. Sean went above and beyond and was so very kind and courteous. The highlight of this car disaster for sure! Very reasonably priced as well. I hopefully won’t need them again but they are first on my list to call from now on if I am ever stranded!

Arrived for inspection and was met by an angry rude staff mumbling profanities because I pulled up to an empty bay that was labeled NC inspection. I went to the new Valvoline behind the Chic-fillet on Airport Rd. They were fast courtesy and professional. Life is too short for hostility like that. The customer has power only if they post their experience.

Stop in to talk to a mechanic and one of the two mechanics, that were standing around with nothing to do, went off on me. I left, went up the street to another place. They were busy but friendly, and were happy to help me with my mechanical needs. No need to be rude. I guess they preferred to stand around.

My mom had a accident less than 200 yards from Skyland Exxon, we called and they came, I ask how much they charge to have it towed to mountain home area, he replied over 340.00, and insisted that we have it hauled to the station right up the road, I’m talking we are at the intersection south bound red light. He said we would not have to pay anything that day, and your insurance should cover it. We called another tow company to pick it up and bring it home, mountain home area, and they charged us 85.00$ Skyland Exxon charged us 380.00 just to drive it up on there roll back with one flat tire, and move it less than 200 yards to the station just past the intersection from where the accident happened. I could have thrown a rock the distance. Just the truth! God bless!

My wife and I were delivering Meals on Wheels when my vehicle locked in park and blocked the road. Our insurance roadside assistance said it would be 90 to 120 minutes wait for a tow. We called Skyland Exxon and they had a tow truck there in 20 minutes. Everyone was extremely helpful and fixed our vehicle fast and at more than a reasonable price. “Do unto others” is always a good business plan.

You can trust the work done at Skyland Exxon! They have kept my high mileage car going for years now. The staff is knowledgeable & friendly. The prices are reasonable. If it’s work they don’t do (ie, new tires), they will refer you to someone who does. I would never go back to a dealership. Plus their gas prices are fair.

I went in for an oil change. And was greeted with good service at the door. I'm a recovering alcoholic who has a blown go in their car. I've been sober for 5 years but I still have to do my pentants. The mechanic who was going to take care of my oil change named Chris snurk at the fact that I had a blow and go.Nothing that I'm proud of,but it's just the way things are. After that. He put the car up on the rack. I was later called in to be shown that my factory bent stretching the back were bent and they needed to be straight across which is not true to Speck on that car he later on pointed out a bunch of other things.The only thing that was actually factual. Was the fact that I have a gasket leak which is true which I would like to give the business to the owner David because he was very accommodating and I believe he knew. I would consider giving them another chance at my business, but not until that guy is gone. His name Is Chris I do not trust his judgment he's trying to sell you more Than what Is needed? . Overall it's still a good mechanic business. Just be weary of Chris!

The tire and auto repair shop did an excellent job diagnosing our issue and getting our truck in to get fixed immediately while we were visiting on vacation. Other shops around were either booked or too short staffed to help, but the kind and responsive staff here were quick to help us out when no one else would so our family could get back to enjoying our vacation.

Customer Service exemplary. Would give more stars, if I could. David and team were amazing. RV tow bar broke and shredded right Jeep tire. Tow service took me to this business. They not only replaced the tire they were able to clip damaged front fender and cowling together and gorilla tape together so we could continue our trip. Two older local women were there. Said they would not go anywhere else because they trust David (the owner). That they had been customers for over 10 years.

I would never go there for any work on my car. They obviously don’t know the laws and are the least helpful bunch of people that I have ever met. I went in for a simple safety inspection because my car was less than three years old. I didn’t have my registration on me but from previous experience, I knew that it wasn’t required. They told me that I had to have a registration or notice and in buncombe county it had to be the emissions and safety inspection regardless of the circumstances. I asked them what people buying a car that didn’t have a registration yet were supposed to do and they misinformed me, telling me that you had to pay additional money for a ten day tag to get a registration card for them to inspect it. I went to another shop and not only did the hey have no problems pulling up my info using my vin and inspecting me but they only did a safety inspection like what the tag office told me was all that was needed. They just all around misinformed me and if I did not know better, I would have spent additional time and money trying to get my car tagged. And if a shop cannot do something as simple as inspect a car correctly, how can they correctly fix any mechanical issue?

I took my car to a chain establishment for an oil change and they told me that my battery was pushing 460 instead of the needed 600. I have had several cars worked on at Skyland Exxon and decided to go there for them to check it out. The General Manager, David, said my battery was pushing the right voltage, but he still replaced it for free (even though it was out of warranty) to ease my mind. I can’t imagine going anywhere else for any type of service again, this has made a lasting impression!

This is by far the best place to have vehicle worked on for any reason. The guys that work the garage are very good at what they do. Managers an service writer are very good at their job as well. David has an amazing work crew inside an outta the garage.

I can not sing their praises highly enough. I was told by another station m6 car couldn't pass inspection and needed a ton of repairs. I took it here tp hey those repairs b3cause my regular mechanic was covered with other work. He recommended them because he said they were honest. They were extremely honest! They told me what repairs m6 cat needed, BUT THAT NONE OF THEM WERE NEEDED FOR MY CAR TO PASS INSPECTION! In went in thinking I would pay 800 to 1000 dollars for repairs and walked out spending 30 dollars for my inspection. They are wonderful and honest which is best praise I can give.

Was only there for a 20 mins. While traveling, we needed a tire plugged. Pulled in, service rendered, they checked all the tires, and the manager spoke with us while we waited. We were in and out in no time. Great customer service and price was right.

My wife recently had some issues with tire pressure on her new car while I was out of town, she stopped by to get some help and the people here were very responsive and kind towards her. She only ended up needing a little air around all 4 tires and they didn’t even charge her for the service, but that’s not the point. The staff here is very friendly and seemingly community minded and that goes a long ways in my book. I’ve also had many oil changes on various vehicles done here over the years. Great service from great people. I can’t thank you or be grateful enough.

Love this place. My family has been coming here for over a decade, I’ve been coming since I started driving 5+ years ago! They are the NICEST people here and always make sure you’re taken care of. Great prices, always very little wait time, and definitely the best place to go to anywhere around Asheville! :-) I recommend this place 210% for any kind of car maintenance you need!!

You will not find a better group of people to take care of you or your car. I had a terrific experience getting a pair of rotors put on my car. The price was better than anyone else around and the quality of work was excellent! The manager David really takes the extra effort to make sure that you are taking care of and that the turnaround time on your repair is fast. I will never go anywhere else!
