What clients say about AutoZone Auto Parts in New Rochelle (NY)
Staff was extremely helpful, the store manager, Diego tried his best to assist me but I needed my transmission installed and he refused to install it, the other manager said it wasn’t in store and it would need to be ordered, this is unacceptable from a car parts store.
I arrived at this location at 8:00 AM, well after their posted opening time of 7:30 AM, only to find the doors locked. When I knocked, the lone employee inside, Patience, made no effort to provide an explanation or offer assistance. Instead, she rudely dismissed me, stating that if I “used my brain,” I would realize she was the only person there and would not be opening the store until another employee arrived. She then went so far as to insult my intelligence, implying that I was “not too bright” for assuming a business should adhere to its posted hours.
This level of unprofessionalism is absolutely unacceptable. A business should not advertise an opening time if they have no intention of serving customers at that time. Beyond the blatant disregard for customers’ time, the outright disrespect and condescension displayed by this employee reflect an appalling management style. If this is the standard of service they uphold, I have no interest in ever returning—and I highly recommend others take their business elsewhere like Advanced on North Ave or Napa across the street.
Triple A advised me to call Auto Zone in New Rochelle for help in solving my problem. I took the advice and called and connected to Benjamin G, Assistant Manager. He suggested I come in person. I arrived within 20 minutes.
Ben is a WIZARD! Within a few minutes he solved my problem and relieved my stress.
I drove off a happy, relieved customer and will recommend Auto Zone to all my friends.
Please, give Ben a raise!
Thank you.
Bad experience today Friday 17 at 3:20pm. I called in earlier today to make sure I could come in and get my battery replaced. I spoke to a lady on the phone which told me they’d be able to do it as long as I came before 5. This is the second time I have an experience like this with autozone. The worker Carlos had an attitude, told me to come back tomorrow which you should never count with someone’s time. I came on my day off and called to make sure they could do it before making the trip. Extremely unprofessional. Although I understand there were customers in the store, the company offers battery installations and their workers never want to do it. Most times I’ve been at this location the workers seem like they don’t want to be there and don’t want to work. Why work a job you’re getting paid to do if you’re not gonna do it right? I believe autozone needs to address their workers and do better as a company in overall.
Bad experience today 12-24 with the team leader, he kick me out practicly when i get in early by mistake and he didn’t want to answer my questions, they look like they don’t wanna work. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
Very rude employees. They advertise $10 off of your battery price if you bring in your old battery but actually they charge you $5 “core charge” and then remove the surcharge if you give them your old battery. I’m not really sure why I have to originally pay $5 to not hand over my old battery, which is my property, but there is no real money off for a new battery- false advertising. I would go elsewhere.
I got a new car battery today and on the highway heading to New York my car DIED. I’m currently in a Cheesecake Factory parking lot waiting for someone to help me turn it on. It takes less than 15 minutes to install the battery and you guys dropped the ball on DOING YOUR JOB- I PAYED CLOSE TO $300 TO HAVE MY LIFE IN DANGER. DO NOT GO HERE.
I went to the store to return a product that I’ve purchased at the previous store within a 7 hour timeframe. The store manager Carlos R. ( Store manager New Rochelle ) said I was not able to return the item because I did not purchase it from that specific store. Which caused me to drive to another town to return the product where I then ask their store manager “Am I able to return any product from AutoZone to anyone that is near me?” He responded yes as long as I have my receipt. Carlos R. ( Store manager New Rochelle) did not want to do his role as the store manager and provide customer service because he didn’t want to go through the hassle of inputting the product back into the system.
As I came into the store, I was overwhelmed because my battery died and I did not know if they had the right battery for my car. Samuel help me out finding the right battery and then Aaron helped me install the battery. This office although short staffed they were able to help every customer. I am so grateful I came to this store. Thank you guys. The other Autozone in the area should learn about the quality service you guys provide.
I went into AZ pretty frustrated due to the experience at another store. Thanks to the Assistant Store Manager, Sam, I left beyond happy! Sam was able to help me fix the situation and he was quite positive and knowledgeable. From now on, you can best bet that I will ONLY going to the New Rochelle store! Thank you Sam!!!
Went to this autzone for a part. One of the associates was extremely unprofessional. First he was on his phone with a buddy the entire time. Second, he made derogatory comments towards me in Spanish for not speaking Spanish. I understand and speak Spanish so I know exactly what he said. Corporate will be getting a call from me about this incident. Guess I'll be buying from advanced auto parts.
Decent prices, friendly staff. Fixed up pretty serious paint scuffs, dent fixing without the bodyshop. They helped me pick my items and instruct me on what to do. Thanks guys
5/3/24 The young mechanic was of great help over the phone and at store helping me read my battery's life and giving me the diagnostic. Auto Zone personnel has always been of great help to me as a woman with not much car issue knowledge.
Carlos, New Rochelle store manager was super and polite, in helping me with finding me windshield wipers for my Honda CRV 2019, and even replaced them for me from my old ones, Checked my washer fluid as well.
Excellent service here I would recommend anyone to come and purchase their parts here.
So very happy, and satisfied.
Anna from New Rochelle.
The store manager Carlos R. Was very helpful to me, with assisting me in getting a rear windshield wiper for my car. Although the store didn't have it in stock. He called stores in the Bronx too see if they had any. He was very professional and polite.
I had to go delete my previous review which was also five stars so I could write this review. I guess we’re not allowed to review the same business twice. i’ve always had good experiences in the store and today was no different. I love the fact that they have the code checker to see what’s wrong with your car. When I was there today it was very busy Carlos took the time to check my code and told me I needed a thermostat. It was raining out and he had a pleasant attitude even though he had to help me in the rain. I wanted to give him a tip and he refused it. so I purchased the thermostat and the gasket from Carlos. I figured the least I could do was give him a good mention. AutoZone you are lucky to have a manager like Carlos. People like Carlos is the reason I will continue shopping in AutoZone and recommend them to my family and friends. I hope you appreciate him. I live right near advance auto parts and I go out of my way to go to AutoZone because of the AWESOME employees like Carlos.
Went there last night, doors were locked at 9.48pm when supposed to be open until 10pm. Drove 20 mins to get there. I was in a real jam to get a part to get car ready for work today. Knocked politely on window- staff sort of smirking/jeering me. One worker sweeping floor pointed at watch - and I was like yeah, I thought open until 10pm. So had to go elsewhere this morning. I think may be new manager as have had good luck there in past. So just be careful that if you are in a real jam and down to wire - don't depend on this store. I get it people trying to get a head-start on closing. However - store may need to update their hours that they close at 9.45pm. To all potential customers - just make sure you get there 20+ mins before closing.
+1 to comment from Jay E below - 'I dealt with a gentleman with braids and glasses who spoke to me in a very nonchalant attitude and complained more about wanting to go home then taking care of my reimbursement'
This was the very person and same experience. Glad not just me. I was in store on Monday - nonchalant and uninterested for sure.
I'd give this location 10 stars if I could. We're not from this area and our windshield hit with something on the NJT. Left in a situation with no parts here for Safelite to repair it and a 1,200 mile drive home the anxiety ran high until Carlos came out and took a look at our situation. He patched it for us leaving us much more relieved about the venture home. Thank you so much Carlos!!
Went to have my battery tested here. Staff was friendly took the battery out and had it charged in under 30 minutes. However, my battery was bad and is under a year old. I unfortunately bout it from AAA and now having to jump through hoops for them to honor the warranty...
If it wasn't for Daven I probably wouldn't return. Daven was really helpful and made it an easy trip, he was super polite. On the other hand there was another young gentleman with glasses on Tuesday, 4/25 who didn't seemed polite at all. Every time a customer needed help he seemed so annoyed ringing them up, answering their questions, helping them etc. There was a time where Daven picked up a phone call from a customer and the customer on the other end wasn't understanding and the young guy just jumps into the phone call and responded very rudely. It's extremely unprofessional. Anyways, THANK YOU DAVEN!
All though they have better prices then other places. The service is poor sometimes you have a great employee and they are informative and helpful. Other days it makes you wonder why you even stopped there. The Mount Vernon AutoZone was great that day, but the New Rochelle location was horrendous. I went to the Mount Vernon store after stopping at New Rochelle. I also was at the New Rochelle location during the holidays, and apparently they had a lunch situation going on. Every employee was eating. They said I had to wait yet the store was open. One employee who looked like a supervisor had chicken in his hand and a napkin peeked from behind the shelf then eventually came out with the chicken, and said give me a moment. He was completely uninterested in helping me yet I'm spending money at the place you work at. Honestly it's a waste of time going to AutoZone in New Rochelle you are better off going across the street to Napa auto parts.
First let me say: This location is definitely the best one I have been to. They were helpful, patient, and answered my questions with great feed back. I seen the new manager Jessie, who use to work at Mt vernon ( was now the manager at New Rochelle location) and him and another associate help me get head lights for my car and even helped put em in. I was so delighted. To delighted. Not only because they helped me but they did it while they were short staffed. They gave each customer in the store great personal care.
I'm strictly going to this location from now one.... even if it's simply for coolant or a car scent. I'll be here.
I've been here several times. Store is disorganized and folks behind the counter seemly barely competent, if. that. Nice that I can have a battery charged: though concerning when they can't find said battery an hour later. Kinda comic when you're in line for like 10 minutes, when only 1 person is struggling to charge a customer, while a couple of knucklehead workers next to him are only providing commentary and not helping process the rest of the line (or anything else productive for the business).
Going forward, I'll either drive further or simply have it shipped. It's incredible that this store currently has a score of 4/5 with 400 reviews.
Wait times are really bad, only one worker at the time. Ended up not even getting help as I needed. I drove a long way to come here, the worker is respectful and told me he would not be able to help me. I wish that this store hires more workers. Having one worker doing everything is just very unprofessional. I saw him answer so many calls whilst trying to handle customers. They should have workers on hand when it gets busy. I ended up waiting close to an hour just to leave. The first visit I visited this store I really enjoyed how the worker helped me. Unfortunately this store’s reputation has fallen down the roof. Even whilst looking at recent reviews many complain about the long harsh wait times. Please hire more workers!
