I couldn’t be happier with the service I received from R & U. auto-body! After my car was damaged in an accident, they walked me through the repair process step-by-step and made everything stress-free. The work was completed on time, and the results were flawless—my car looks brand new again! The paint matches perfectly, and there’s no sign it was ever damaged. Ronnie and his team were friendly, professional, and clearly took pride in their work. I highly recommend R & U Auto body to anyone in need of quality auto body repair.
AVOID! If you are in an accident and the police call R&U to tow your car, DO NOT let these guys take it. We were in an accident, these guys were called on behalf of the police, and the driver Ronnie asked us where to tow the car. We had an autobody in mind and gave him the address. He promised to have the car delivered to our autobody in 20-30 minutes. This was on a Friday ... only to find out on Monday that the autobody we wanted the car towed to never received the car. Despite telling us that he would take it to OUR autobody, Ronnie took it back to his .. and did not inform us. I called them to find out where my car was, spoke to Nick, and he told us that they are required to take the car to their body as it's a local law .. but that's NOT true. And why did they not tell us this when they took the car???
It then took me 3 days, multiple phone calls and a trip to their shop to sign my car for release to our desired auto body. Forget the amount of charges applied to tow the car just 5 miles to HIS shop, and then they charged an insane amount of money to leave our car parked on the curb near the Bellmore train station for multiple nights as our car was held captive, letting the fees continue to rack up.
Do your research. There's likely a good reason they have been in business for 30+ years and do not have a BBB accreditation. Experiences like mine may help explain that...
Had the best experience at R&U from start to finish! My car came out beautiful (looks better than when I bought it) and the staff there helped me navigate the daunting task of dealing with insurance.

They also have rentals, when I had a minor issue with my rental vehicle they picked up the rental from my job, fixed it, and returned it before I had to clock out!
My experience was so much better than expected. How many businesses can you say that about? Everyone I spoke to for any reason was polite, patient, knowledgeable & informative every time I called. I spoke with Ronnie, Nick and Stacey most of the time, but everyone as wonderful and my car looks beautiful! I was kept informed in detail and I will always go back to them if the need arises.

If you are in need of auto body work, you simply cannot do better than this place. Ronnie is always nice, polite, professional and honest. He is such a decent guy, and very very honest. Everyone else in the shop is also extremely pleasant to interact with. And their work is outstanding. Great work, great people, and they always treat customers with respect. It's a very nice and very talented group of folks at R & U. I highly recommend this business.

Excellent work and customer service. Nick was a complete a gentleman from the first day of dropping the car off to picking the car up. Although the work took a long time, they explained all the issues whether it was a supply chain parts issue or something else. Besides the long wait, it was well worth it as the car came out looking better than ever, would recommend this place to anyone.
This Auto Body is one of the best around. I have used them for 10+ years. Ronnie and Nick are awesome and with great customer service. When I worked for Allstate, I always sent all my PH's to them. My family and friends as well. They never seem to disappoint. Don't hesitate to take your vehicle here, you will not be disappointed.
My car got hit and needed repairs. Nick is truly the best and takes care of everything for you. You don’t have to worry about a thing and they even clean/detail your car for you before you pick it up. An overall great experience.
My car was towed to their auto shop after the accident. The day I arrived to their repair shop Nick the owner was very courteous, polite and most of all super honest!!! about the situation. I’d definitely recommend everybody to use their services for any future car troubles! Very humble employees that are willing to work with you!!

Work was impeccable and was completed in a timely manner. Not only that, I got 3 other estimates in the local area and they were all at least $400 more than they were! Highly recommend!
The service provided by this business is second to none. Nick, the owner, is a down to Earth guy with his customers best interest in mind. Tired of auto body shops beating you over the head with high prices and gimmicks to make you spend more? R & U is the place to go! Well today at 1230 while stuck in complete traffic in the Bronx thr lovely driver older white gentleman tried to cut me off. When he failed he flipped me off and tried to run into my car. I’m not sure if he’s a worker or the owner but either way he is a hazard to the road and should not be allowed to drive with that kind of road rage and total disregard to others while on the road. I was traveling with my two young children ages 3 and 7 take this man off the road ASAP he was also traveling with a woman in the passenger seat edit ; not a woman. It was a younger man with glasses
Yes! They are that good! R & U was recommended to me by a friend, due to their honesty and expert workmanship. The front end damage on my car looked pretty bad and I was worried that the paint match might not be perfect as the car, a Toyota Corolla, is 7 years old. To my delight the car was not only finished on time as promised, the car looked brand new. I could not have been more happy with the results. My lease was up in a few weeks and my car had damage that needed to be fixed. Nick and Ronnie were honest and not only saw what I thought needed to be repaired, but they also said they’d take care of anything else that might have been an issue for me. They helped me do my insurance claim and rented me a car right there at the shop so I could just be on my way. Even though I didn’t leave them a lot of time, they promised me I’d have my car back when I needed to turn it in. I called a few times to check on progress and they were always courteous and kind, and they totally delivered on what they promised. When I went to get my car, it was like new! Not only was it repaired, but it was also washed, waxed, and detailed inside and out!! I’m handing it back to the dealership in perfect condition thanks to R&U. I will go back to them anytime and will recommend them to anyone who needs work done!!
I have been coming to R&U for years since my car accident 5 years ago. I found out about them through my sister who has used them before. Nick has always taken care of whatever issue I came across. He has always been fair and honest in not only pricing but what I needed done. Arrangements also have been flawless through his efforts. I'm so happy with the work that R&U did on my car. Someone accidentally reversed into me and caused damage on the driver's side and the guys at R&U didn't hesitate to help me with whatever I needed, which was new door skins and a paint job. Nick worked with me and was so helpful. They also detailed my car and made it look great - like new! I highly recommend them.
The staff at R&U were awesome! They helped us get through several crashes and our cars came back brand new. Their attention to detail was impressive. No matter where the accident happened, Nick or Ronnie would send Brain with his flat-bed towtruck to quickly collect our damaged auto. In one case we were on the NYS Thruway right before Thanksgiving! They helped us deal with our insurance company and renting a car while our car was being fixed. My Honda was pretty damaged by a hit and run. After getting a bunch of estimates from four shops - r&u auto body was the most fair, professional, personable and considerate of them all. They treated me like friends/family and assured I would get my car back in a timely manner. I've been to many auto body shops but will never look further than R & U because they practice what they preach and do the job right. I am blown away. There is no competition! I was in my first ever accident when a car t-boned me. I called a family member for guidance and they said I must call the guys at R&U. I did so and within 15 minutes, despite being late Sunday night, they had a truck there to tow my car. The next morning when I went in to do the paperwork I was greeted by Nick who was exceptionally friendly, personable, and helpful. He guided me through the paperwork very quickly and calmed my nerves about the whole process and reassured me he would help me through everything and help deal with my insurance company. Before I knew it he handed me the keys to one of his rentals and I was back on the road and at ease knowing Nick and the guys were on my side in getting this sorted out. Can't emphasize enough the lowering of my stress levels after visiting the shop. Unfortunately my car was deemed a total loss but Nick asked me to show him the insurance payout on the vehicle before I accept any settlement. I gladly did so and after Nick's review of the figure that he deemed low based on his inspection of my car, he helped me fight for an additional $760 that I got from my insurance company that was more in line with my car's actual value at the time of accident. Upon returning the rental Nick continued to offer good advice and insights regarding insurance, coverage, and auto knowledge from his years in the industry. He gave me a more than fair price for the rental for time I had it outside what was covered by my insurance company. Nick, Ronnie, and all the guys thanks again for everything. You have a customer for life.
Wow! I went to pick up my car and didn't even recognize it. It looked like new! These guys are the best. All new parts, excellent craftsmanship. They took care of everything: dealt with the insurance company, even helped arrange a rental. They explained everything, and even when the parts were delayed in shipping, they kept me updated.

They will treat you like family. I have been getting my auto body work done here for years. There is a reason these guys are always busy. R&U auto-body in Merrick Long Island has made my car look better than when it was new. They were pleasant and easy to work with. My Jeep came out of this shop looking newer than when I bought it. They did a great job fixing my bumper and fully detailed the exterior. Nick treated me like family and kept me updated throughout the whole process. A rental car was provided to me and no money was spent out of pocket. We had a wonderful experience at R & U Auto Body! We had our 2006 car detailed and spruced up. Hood was repainted and blended beautifully as well as some wear and tear fix up repairs. All four rims were redone, sanblatsted and purchased new tires as well. When I say the car looks Brand New, I’m not even joking! Nick and his crew did a spectacular job and were such a pleasure to do business with! I highly recommend them!
I have been a customer of R&U auto body for several years now. I have had nothing short of excellent service each and every time I had come to them. Ronnie, Nick and John are very professional and are straight shooters who provide awesome customer service. I refer everyone I know there without hesitating because I know they will be treated fairly and equitably. I brought two of my vehicles to them just last month and they handled everything from the insurance claims to the car rentals. They actually made the insurance claim call and then I spoke to a representative. I was also able to get a rental car in a short period of time and the rental company drove the car to the auto body shop. The whole process was seamless and convenient.
