Just got hang-up on by their dispatcher on a 911 call because they dispatch for my town, she stated nothing can be done and was not going to dispatch a cop out on private property. Im guessing it was to much work for the night. You dispatch for other towns but don't send help for low level calls or parking matter , and im a former class 2 firefighter and a former emt completely unprofessional by my standards and got the same reaction from the second dispatcher when I called back and i hang-up on him and within 2 minutes the cops showed up. It was and emt from han Solo ems that parked in a private space in a private parking lot. I don't feel comfortable or safe anymore in my town do to this interaction with outside dispatchers from rutgers college dispatch im glad this incident happened to show why cops get yelled at when they show up to calls. Your lucky I know the cops or this would ended bad for me and both towns start serving the community you over see and stop acting like it's a college property. I hope I never have to call them again because there going to get told off and sued for unbecoming of a public servant and endangering the community. Just do your job no matter how stupid the call is.
I just wanted to say thanks to officer Ken Buco#1180 to take time and risk to walk around route 18 for my ID and credit card . ?I forgot my wallet on top on my car and felt on my way home from Work on route 18 ??♀️I’m sorry officer Ken and God Bless you ??, he so nice ? officer like you are so important in Rutgers camp .i work at LDC hope to see you again
I had an extremely disappointing and unsettling experience with the Rutgers University Police Department. I was pulled over by Officer last name Syed, a female officer, who claimed I “seemed a bit off”— Without any valid reason or explanation, I was approached and stopped by her while simply minding my own business. I cooperated fully and underwent three separate DUI tests, all of which I passed without issue. Despite having done nothing wrong, I felt profiled and unfairly targeted.
Interactions with law enforcement should be based on clear, lawful reasoning, not vague impressions or assumptions. This experience left me feeling harassed and humiliated for no reason. Officer Syed’s conduct was unprofessional and unwarranted, and I hope Rutgers takes steps to ensure accountability and proper training moving forward. I wish I could’ve gave zero stars. 3 dui tests seriously? Pathetic.
PREJUDICE like the definition. They said something to me for walking through the parking deck. But said absolutely itching to the guy, of a lighter skin tone who’s sleeping in the back of a car with a busted window. In fact they literally walked pass him. When I called the station to get some info on it the person who answered literally couldn’t give me a logical answer as to why. Then HUNG UP.

The department came to my school to talk about their services and how they are here to help us. With a lot of pamphlets so we are informed they exist. The moment I need them, they say they can't help me. How dangerous can it not be for a 25 yo female to have a flat tire in the middle of Newark!? Not even a, can I offer assistance in getting home safely?
You can help with jumping a car but not changing a tire? What's the discrimination with the service? Isn't the police the people I should trust to have my back in moments of danger?
