What clients say about Township of East Brunswick Recycling Center in East Brunswick Township (NJ)

This is an excellent recycling facility. The dumpsters for cardboard and plastic bottles are roomy and welcoming. The containers for concrete and electronic waste are well marked and easy to locate. If you forgot to bring your household waste to the curb, the garbage truck always has your back. The only thing keeping it from getting 5 stars is it's somewhat of an exlusive club. One must show ID with an East Brunswick address to get in.

True bastion of democracy. Free disposal of large personal items with employees that are helpful. 10/10 would come again

Different material for waste disposal. Teamwork was a good job. He shows the point where to dump and easily be simple. I like it. Thanks to them ??

The EB recycling center is great and truly a benefit of living here. I have a bigger suv so can discard many things there and never had an issue from Landscape waste, Fridge, sofa, paint etc. The big garbage cans and recycling cans we have now are more than enough.

While with the new recycling cans do not hold much, being able to bring extra items to the recycling center helps. Best part is that it’s only available to EB residents, which is similar to every other town.

I have a box 100" TV Box - Cardboard Carton that I need to recycle. This box is so huge that it will definitely not fit into the Black Recycle Bin provided by the township. I cannot cut it into multiple pieces to fit in. This box will not even fit into my car. I requested the township to pick it up under bulk pickup and they refused to do that. I am supposed to arrange for some other way of disposing this. This is very unfortunate and discouraging.

I didn't realize East Brunswick had such an extensive recycling program. You can bring nearly everything here other than extreme hazardous waste. They accept concrete, paint, stains, electronics, bulk waste (mattresses, furniture, etc) and you can even dump regular garbage here if you've got too much to fit in your can.

The rude attitude from the attendant at the post when I got there to drop on a few tile that had broken and I replaced in my house was unbelievable they wouldn't take it. You don't want me to make my cans too heavy but won't take the stuff at the dump

Very easy to get in and out of. Wished I knew that they took all the stuff that they do I would have been here a long time ago. I'm happy that they take old concrete and block. I was able to clear my yard. They will also take old paint and stain along with household trash and furniture.

E. Brunswick recycling Center is top notch. They are ALWAYS extremely responsive, friendly and go above and beyond. I’ve been here about 13 years now in East Brunswick and I just had to write a review because they really really helped me out today. I couldn’t be happier. They are always there if I email or call with any questions or need assistance with any pick up items. It sounds crazy but if I could give the recycling center a hug today I would haha!

I'm so glad I can bring recycling and garbage to the recycling center when needed. This is a very useful service township provides for it's residents. Please keep in mind that they do not allow dumping of any construction debris. Off you have any off that mask sure to put it in the back garbage bags.

I use the facility quite often with no hassles. Gatekeeper is friendly and informative. Good service. Glad the facility helps me get rid of my landscaping cleanup.

Great place to unload your garbage, recycle, metals, tree limbs and lawn debris, concrete and woods. All separate into 8 categories and even sections for electronics. But you have to be a resident of East Brunswick.

Always helpful. Often, it is certain residents with self serving "expert" attitudes who are the local "Karen's" are the problems. Try a little digniyy.

The personnel are always helpful and many items are recycled at this location..

I am completing disappointed in the way my cans and recycle bins have been left today. First they placed someone's garbage in my paper bin, considering the pandemic we are in this is dangerous and then they placed both my yellow tins together so I can separate them. Since this home as a disabled elder individual these cans will stay as is. If I see again someone's actual garbage in any of my bins I will refuse to recylce.

It is organized and easy to navigate. The only issue I have ever had was the attitude of one employee. I’ve lived in EB for over 20 years. I arrived with an out of town resident on one occasion who allowed me to utilize his trailer to dispose of a large appliance as well as quite a bit of recyclables following the holiday season. This employee proceeded to play 21 questions with me. Upon producing my ID showing my residency in EB, he inquired about if we both live in EB. “No, but I do and these are my items, please fill me in on the rule that says I can’t have and out of town family member assist me in lifting an appliance”. This employee also stated it was preferred that the resident be the driver of the vehicle. Again, fill me in on if thats a rule or simply just what “he prefers”. It’s my family members vehicle and he is present, I’m not telling him, “hey get out of the driver’s seat, the employee at the recycling center prefers if I drive”. Not to mention what about those residents who don’t have driver’s licenses and need someone to drive for them? They have and ID just no right to operate a vehicle. I would assume they can still utilize the center. I understand wanting to make sure the individuals utilizing the center are residents, however questions and comments such as his do not help prove that. It’s simple, if the person has and ID confirming they are an EB resident and the items in tow can be discarded at this center, then get out of the way so we can go about our business. I work too hard to be interrogated by the gatekeeper of the recyclables.

Would be nice if they took wood. Had some renovations on the deck done and had to hire a dump truck company to carry out and properly dispose.
