I wish there was an option for me to leave 0 stars. Every since this facility has changed from "WatersEdge", to "Trenton Gardens", it has been very nasty and they accept anybody. I mean anybody. From drugs, Psychiatric to speacial needs. Its very rare that you'll see disabled senior citizens (which is the initial reason for me bringing my mom here). There is one particular security guard (much older guy that wears glasses) is very rude, disrespectful and nosey. Never greats me when I come to visit, but always asks other people about what I'm bringing in, who I'm coming to see, what am I doing there. There are 3 elevators, and only one is fully in operation (which is for food service). One of them they never fixed, the other one constantly goes out, and it will take months before they "fix" it, only for it to break down again, and I will then have to walk up the stairs, 4 levels and most of the time I am carrying my moms laundry clothes on my back. There has been a constant smell of urine on the elevator, and in the hallways, the sink in my moms room was out of order for almost a year before they decided to "fix it" (one side still doesn't work), and when I come to visit my mom, I feel very uncomfortable and unwelcomed. I am currently looking for another place to relocate her.
On a positive note, I do want to shout out nurse Kimisha who goes over and beyond, very professional, patient, understanding, listens to any concerns I may have and never hesitates to inform me of any changes with my mom.
She is the only reason I have not transferred my mom to another facility. (YET).May 26, 2025 -
It is extremely dirty, staff just seemed to be unconcerned about everything. The patients were just roaming free, the hallways and rooms were absolutely filthy and smelly. Do not send anyone there.

Do NOT leave any family member here it’s NOT been updated in idk how long.. They have 3 elevators and only one works not safe at all for the facility…They they don’t give drinks with the patients meals.. I Went to go visit someone and the room reeked of urine. It was so disgusting. We had to take him outside to visit with him when we spoke to his nurse any concerns we had it was like we were just blown off. They don’t take you seriously, with any concerns you have….. I’m Reading all these reviews and seeing what people are saying and I don’t see one positive thing about this place so I don’t know how all these reviews are positive and then I see owner replying with such generic comments. How about you do something about it??? Because the facilities doesn’t show anything of the reply from comments that you’ve made any changes…..

The general manager is incompetent and clearly has napoleon complex. The nurses gave me the wrong medication 3x confusing a benzodiapapine for a blood thinner. The patients who aren't all there mentally are not separated from the ones who are. I literally was placed in the same room with a man who urinated on the floor and who dedicated in his bed. Their was another mentally ill patient who I had to physically stop from stealing my belongings more than 10x out of my room. The man also tried to physically assault me and the nurse sat there (she was the floor supervisor) waiting for me to assault him until he tried to assault me and it wasn't until then when I stated if I hit him now it wouldn't be self defense and I would be wrong? I repeatedly went to the nursing supervisor and the general manager and was met with complete incompetence and a complete lack of professionalism. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this facility and to my knowledge from what the nurses said it has only been like this for the past four weeks since the new management has taken over. If you care about whoever you are checking this place out for, Run ,run ,and keep running. Showers don't work. Hallways stink of feces. Management is completely incompetent and the general Manger has an arrogance about him that is sickening.

My grandfather was here all of 6 days, t he whole reason for him being in a nursing home is because he has altimzers and wonders, he wasn't being watched and as a nurse myself that works at a facility, we're supposed to keep a special and extra look at those residents, to keep them safe and this facility neglected to do that, I see the complaints that everyone has on here and I wish that was my only complaint, today we lay my grandfather to rest this has been a most difficult time for myself and my family, I'm sure the people from corporate and administration are sleeping well at night , well not me I haven't had any sleep since March 5,2023, it was hoffic how my grandfather passed. I'm so digusted and devastated, it all seems like a bad dream, I miss him and would give anything to hear his voice but that will never happen ,thanks to the neglect of this facility, you guys should be ashamed of yourselves, certain things just aren't tolerated... After my experience I wouldn't recommend anyone to leave their loved one in their care

If you actually care for your love one (Do Not) take them to waters edge . Your love ones health will decline rapidly until death . When you ask what happened they will tell you it was covid so they can make money on them on the way out. (Honest Review)

Wateredge is not a place to bring someone who can not take care of themselves, they do not have the staff to care for those who can not eat for themselves, get dress,go to the bathroom, or ask for help, when they come in to clean, or change after the went in there Diaper ,they leave it on the floor,on top of the dinner tray, the fifth 5th floor is a living hell, very ,very dirty, it's not clean very well.
There no way it should take 3,4,or even 5 hours to change someone diaper, bugs I have seen, mostly water bugs, the staff is not experienced enough to determine somebody needs medical attention, they come from all departments, learning, first time on the job, always get as much information as you can, take pictures as many times as you can ,and get a police report when need. Remember int not WHAT YOU KNOW, ITS WHAT YOU CAN PROVE, BECAUSE CORPORATE, STAFF ,AND SERVER, WILL TAKE SIDES, trust no one , don't tell anyone what you see just reported to:
NJ HEALTH DEPARTMENT
Nursing home complaint center
Senior citizen complaint center,
Remember, it's not what you know, its what you can prove. Know all of your 26 Amendments.and never stop a battle.Aug 17, 2022 -

My husband has been a resident at Water’s Edge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center since January 2019. Throughout this time, the care and attention given to him and my son and I has been extraordinary. Though he cannot speak much due to illness, the staff has kept him clean, comfortable, and calm, especially since the on-set of the Pandemic. Even when he needed brain surgery during the Pandemic and I couldn’t be with him.
I can’t thank the Administration, Nursing staff, housekeeping, dietary and activities staff enough for all they do to make their residents content and as healthy as possible.
Thanks to you all,

I'm giving them 4 stars, because everytime I came to visit, his bed wasn't made and no fresh ice or water in his cup. On the days, I didn't make it up there, his bed wouldn't get made until 3-11pm shift come in. If his favorite CNA's didn't work on that weekend, he would not get clean linen, fresh ice or water or his bed wouldn't get made. One CNA got mad, because I change his bed everyday and put clean linen on it, when I got there at 9:30. I had to put her in her place, she gonna say we don't put clean linen unless it's soiled.

My mom has been there for last two weeks. The staff and the nurses have gone beyond their call of duty. My respect for the health care workers and the staff has grown immensely after I have seen their passion, dedication and service. So I appreciate your service.

My grandmother has now been there (on the second floor) for about two weeks after switching from another rehabilitation center. This facility is amazing and extremely clean! Each and every staff member, including the aides, assistants, interpreters, nurses, and doctors are very dedicated and truly caring.
Maria helps take care of my grandmother every morning. Rubal is awesome - you can tell she is hardworking, genuine, and really cares about each one of her patients. The interpreters, Sonal & Alka, are committed to the patients of the second floor, and have been crucial in my grandma's healing and overall wellbeing. My grandma's physical therapist today was Stephanie and she was so diligent! I was finally able to see my grandmother walk today after several weeks.
Thank you so much Water's Edge!!!Jan 10, 2020 -
I was a resident at this facility after being hit by a vehicle on May 13 which left me with a broken tibia and fibula of my right leg. After my operation I was then transferred to Waters Edge. There had undergone physical therapy. The major majority of staff from the director to the kitchen truly cared for me and my needs. Bravo Water's Edge!

The facility is in a low end neighborhood but don't let that put you off. As a woman alone I felt safe parking my car in their lot. Front desk staff very pleasant and helpful. The property and facility is well maintained. Clean and doesn't smell badly or like medicine. It was nice. My mother up until her last day on this earth was very well taken care of there. The nurses and staff were very good to her. She wasn't in any pain, the loved her and kept her comfortable and clean. More than I could have asked for. I was very happy with her surroundings and would recommend and one to this facility.
