if i can give them a zero i would so extremely rude to customers especially the one who is old and long black hair shes horrible and treats customers like crap their always under staffed and always seem as if they hate their job seriously disappointed
I love DG, the only issue I have is they never have enough shopping carts. Today they only have 2. How are people supposed to shop? Specially the elderly or people with disabilities that can't carry a basket.
ON 7/27/25 I witnessed store manager, Evelyn, make a deeply inappropriate and offensive remark in reference to the local community. Specifically, she stated, "There are only thieves in this community." This blanket statement is not only harmful and discriminatory but also undermines the trust and respect that should exist between your company and the community it serves. As a customer, I was deeply shocked and upset by such a generalization. It reflects poorly on Dollar General’s commitment to professionalism and customer service. Evelyn Needs TO GOO!!!!
Stupid old lady was following me and my friends and said you guys with an adult and we replied “No” she said you guys can’t be playing around here like it’s a playground, she walked by and saw my friends food and said this yours we said “yea” she gave it to my friend and walked away she was hiding behind a aisle and saw my friends eating there food that they bout with there money and she kicked us out for no reason
Saw the bad reviews and gave this place the benefit of the doubt but the older lady with glasses is rude. Older gentleman on register was kind but this lady was just on her phone and thinks it’s ok to randomly yell at customers for the smallest things. Someone needs to humble her. It’s a dollar general, not the military, lady.
The night manager here has some sort of a god complex and told me I wasn’t allowed to purchase an item I had went BACK to the store for. I needed extra money, went home, came back 15 minutes later, was about to purchase it and the cashier was told over the walkie talkie by her control freak manager not to let me purchase the item?? Literally argued with me over it even thought it was for sale? Is this how these managers operate and treat their employees now? She was cursing at her poor cashier over the walkie talkie even before I got to the register. She definitely needs an attitude adjustment those employees shouldn’t have to endure that treatment.
It was a delight visiting this store. Customer service is top notch and one of the most organized I’ve seen in a long time. I think I spent more money just because I was able to see everything! I will be shopping here again.
10/19/23: I like going to the is store, it’s convenient and has some affordable items. One of the male managers is very nice and acknowledges me whenever I come in. I just wish some of the other employees had great customer service
The Karen worker that has black and curly hair in union city Kennedy dollar general is the most disrespectful worker ever she snatched a towel I was gonna buy this was an act of violence!! If I could I would give it 0 stars I would
I shop at this place often I love it the staff are very friendly and professional most important they are very knowledgeable about the items in the store. It seems very well managed ?
3/19/2022 this date had a coupon event going on & I was treated with improper customer service. One of the men who work’s at this location was complaining the entire time about his job & yelling at customers to stop using coupons because it was slowing the store systems down. He was extremely rude & unethical. I am highly disappointed at the customer service in this store. I have been treated with respect & great customer service at a McDonald’s & today on 3/20/2022 I walked in to pick up an online order & the young lady at the register did not ask for my name. She asked what my items were & did not scan the QR code on my phone. This is the last time I will ever return to this location. I will be taking my business to a different location. This place needs a lot of help with the staff/ employees.

Apparently they let anyone work here! Cashier nor the manager understood simple math! I had to literally explain math to both of them! On top of that, the cashier was so rude, when I asked him a question he responded with an attitude “so do you want to return them??”… my question had nothing to do with returning or not wanted the items… I was in disbelief. The cashiers and the managers here need some kind of training because how they’re acting now is VERY unprofessional. STAY AWAY!
The last three weeks was crazy for this store having only one resigter working correctly. The manger was helping out the whole line by himself and doing a great job on keeping the line going ! In and out just the way I like it ! Im happy to see that the resigters are up and working for them today! I love the energy of the new staff in this store they made my shopping experience better ! Shout out to Cristian and Ciaria and everyone else ! Great Job
Very bad customer service I I had to return a fan that I bought. I had my recipt I 0ay with my debit card .I ask for cash back or to be put back on my card they could not do neither one mangers had no clue how to refund me my money. They asked if I would like I gift card I said ok I guess I really don't shop there that much but ok. I them went to use it on a few items which was only like 3 . Dollars
Was told I had to purchase a minimum of 5 dollars to use gift card.so I left
When back another day to use gift card and found out gift card had no money so as far as going back to dollars general on jfk blvd

They didn't have what I was looking for but the place was a mess. They should be having the more staff concerning on the neatness of the place and having things organized accordingly. The place should be more welcoming to draw my clients to the store.
Love, love this store!! HORRIBLE customer service though. They should definitely train their staff to be more polite. Lately the isles are crowded with merchandise that has not been placed on the shelves and the store looks a MESS!!! SO UNORGANIZED! Have been to many other stores which have the expanded new isles and it does not look like the one in 22nd Street!
If this location's GP went down, it's because the customer can't get to anything they want to buy. I've visited this location 3 times in one month and the aisles were always PACKED/BLOCKED by stocking boxes. And the staff is walking around like this is the normal way to do business. All 3 times, my trip was wasted because I had no access to a shelf. If this is management's decision to keep the boxes out in the customer's way instead of storing them in the back until you've hired someone who can stock the product on the shelves (or until you have room on the shelves for the product), shame on them. Terrible experience!
Great customer service the new manager is very friendly n welcome us .very clean and organize I.found everything I needed. no clutter will highly recommend to others. Great bargains.
I'm a big aficionado of shabby chic & most of the picture frames in my house come from Dollar General. I have a huge picture in my living room that cost almost $250 to frame exactly as I wanted it & believe it or not, the DG frames match it perfectly. I also pick up tons of other stuff while I'm there because... well... who doesn't?
I loved it here because they had a lot of party items one can use while having a beach party or mini party at home.Items such as balloons, to colorful stickers etc.
The parking space is large too.
I love this place. I go here all the time. Not only because it’s two minutes from my house but because I love it. I’ve been going since I moved next to them about 5 years ago. As of lately they’ve hired this new manager? I think that’s his position. I love him. He is great. Very helpful and always stays calm and nice during tough situations. Aka difficult customers.
The manager with the semi blonde hair rolls her eyes at most people and is not very polite to customers. She does not have the store well organized. Be careful you might trip on something i.e. boxes on the floor that haven’t been sort out
