This Acme is the worst. They treat you as if your stealing from them by making you feel uncomfortable and follow you around I went there with my son who is autistic and he likes to touch and ask questions about everything jn the market and when I was about to pay I had the store manager watch me like a hawk as if me and my child were up to no good.

Good variety. Customer service is a mixed bag. If you use online shopping, be aware that if you purchase for your elders (e.g. parents) using the same credit card as you use for yourself, Acme will consider you the same household even if you don't live together. This can cause problems with using some of their coupons. My mom had this issue and they couldn't do anything about it, or so online customer service said.
EDIT: not sure what contacting Acme again would do since my mom had to cancel her order because the promo wasn't being honored and the coupon she used for the order is now gone. That was an unhelpful suggesting from Acme Markets.
Clean, well-organized store with a wide variety of fresh produce, quality meats, and everyday essentials. Staff are helpful and friendly, and checkout is quick. Prices are fair, and shelves are always well-stocked. A pleasure to shop here every time! Just have the security guy stand to the side and not stare too much at everyone lol
They often don't have products in stock, even though the Acme online say they are having a sale.
Just today, went there for Brazil nuts, and was told that they don't have it in stock and they not getting the delivery, even though they have repeatedly asked for the nuts to be delivered to the store.
Second time this has happened. Last time, it was a brand of chips that was never in stock.
The staff is very nice, but it seems their corporate/distributors don't give them what they need. Sad!
This place has beautiful items for helping to cook and clean your house and food your dogs and cats and birds and vegetables and meat for your house and some stuff for your car. It's a beautiful and very nice place.
This is a PSA for any young woman, whether they’re alone or with friends.
My younger sister and I came to shop for groceries here around 4PM today. The minute we walked in we noticed there was a security guard (normal), however, his demeanor and way of observing us was not normal. There was an unnerving and almost provocative way that he stared at both my sister and I. I was the first one to notice it and tried to ignore it, but once my younger sister vocalized the same discomfort of the way he was observing / staring at us, I knew it was not right.
We decided to walk away from the vicinity he was in, and a minute later we find him to be walking right behind us. In all honesty, we were disturbed and frightened because he continued to look at us in such a way that made it feel like it was predatory.
I went to complain to whom I presume was the manager at the time, and told him about the security guards behavior. He told me he would go speak to him about it.
A few minutes later, my sister and I overheard TWO OTHER WOMEN loudly comment that the same security guard was following them and how weird it felt. I approached them and told them how we experienced the same thing and that it was not an appropriate for him to be doing.
All four of us decide to speak to the manager and tell him about the behavior (once again). It seems like the manager wanted to overlook it but this is something that SHOULD NOT BE OVERLOOKED.
No matter how long the security guard has been employed here, to be in the position of authority in a sense, and use it as a tactic to disgustingly almost stalk woman while they are SHOPPING is unacceptable behavior.
I truly hope a deep and thorough background check is run on this person, for the sake of this locations reputation and safety, hopefully even replaced.
I will not come back here to shop since I cannot shop in peace or without worrying that I’m being followed for the wrong reasons.
What have been my experience in this store the associates are very eager to help when asked. I really like going in this particular store when they have sales .it clean and not over crowded.
I always go to acme to do my shopping. I spend lot of money over there since I moved to NJ but one day I went there for the purpose of just buying my baby formula and I was treated like a criminal by the lady who helped me. The bottle i wanted costed only $26 and the lady refused to hand it me and escorted me to the register to stand there to watch me pay for it. I have never been so uncomfortable in my life. I spent hundreds on groceries every time I go there but to even escort me for a formula that cost $26 and watch me pay I was shocked. I usually buy it at Costco but that day I needed it and acme was the closest. I will never forget this disrespect that I faced that day.
During Covid-19 these folks fought the good fight and I will be forever grateful. They did nothing short of keep us safe, clean, and well fed. Absolute heroes work there!
I’m living “across the street” and usually shopping in this ACME 365/24/7 for several years.
Today my wife feels not well and we went to this store to buy: Powder against flue, pills against pain in throat and 2 sparkling water cans.
As always only 2 cashiers working and self checking open.
We used self checking. Usually system asking ID for purchase Teraflue medicine powder. Worker refused to sell me this item because I didn’t had physical ID(for what reason I need it??? For flue powder ??? I’m walking to store, cuz living close). I called manager and they refused to sell it.
10000 times before worker just asked me to enter my BD without even thing to ask my ID.
I’m 30 years old man, with long beard, you can tell when you see me. Just pissed me off. I don’t need to take ID just for small shopping in grocery store..it crazy in our days.
Big fan of ACME. I'm frugal but like quality. You can get both here. Definitely sign up for specials and discounts. They don't play with specials! Real value IMO.
Recently moved to Jersey City and had to SHOP in order to SHOP. I’ve never been to an ACME supermarket before… I always thought it was to over priced. After trying out 3 grocery stores before finally finding acme this location is probably going to be my go to grocery store not for the prices .. BUT the workers really are kind. They ALWAYS ask me at checkout to bag my items, which I so want to take advantage of but they are already standing there for hours … so the least I could do is bag my own items. But the fact that they never fail to ask… is absolutely awesome to me. The app is pretty good as well. I usually always find coupons for the items I buy. Thank you to all the workers for being kind and helpful!
This is a calm Tuesday night and they have only one lane open. There are only a few customers in the shop but it takes them 10-15 mins to checkout. Can’t say I’m happy about it. And the prices are not cheap either. The advantages here are it has wide range of all products including medical supplies and pills
This place is awful. Products are priced wrong, produce is frequently moldy and/or rotten, its almost as if they send all their rotten produce to this store. Meats are too expensive. Courtesy desk is rude.
Its sad because there are a couple of good employees here but the bad ones and the quality ruin it.
Prediction: They will close within 2 years
