I always enjoy thrift shopping at this store. The staff is always working hard to assist their customers. The store is kept clean and orderly. Your guaranteed to find a great buy!

Selection for items other than clothes can run hot and cold. Seasonal sections can be good. The prices for household items have gone up significantly, particularly for vintage glass and china. Some prices are higher than antique and vintage resale stores. There is one particular item which has been there for months. They move it around, but it never sells. Dry goods like napkins, placemat and table runners are priced ridiculously. $4 for a napkin? Seriously? Fix your prices!! More shopping carts needed. Also, the parking can be difficult as this store is in a busy shopping center. I have been unable to find parking on several occasions.

DO NOT SHOP HERE! We paid for an item at self-checkout and then went to have the security sensor removed at which point the staff told us someone had supposedly “switched the tag” and said we could not take the item- even though we had just paid for it. The tag only had a small tear at the top, but the hole with the plastic fastener was completely intact. Instead of refunding us, they would only offer store credit. Their policy makes no sense- we paid for the item and then were told we couldn’t keep it, yet couldn’t get our money back? If tag switching is such a concern, then why do they only offer self-checkout? Not to mention, these are items they are getting FOR FREE and their prices are already astronomical and completely inconsistent. The whole experience was just ridiculous and makes absolutely no sense. The staff were extremely rude and get real enjoyment out of scamming customers.

I like shopping at this well organized thrift store. It's pretty pricey but I have found some great items at 25 and 50 percent off. There is always so much to choose from. Well stocked with clothing.

***COUNTERFEIT*** On 10/8/2025, I UNKNOWINGLY PURCHASED A COUNTERFEIT LOUIS VUITTON BAG, on sale (color of the day tag) for $799.68 (originally priced at $1499.99) at VALUE VILLAGE (Blue Bucket Group I, LLC, dba Value Village). THE LV CODE SHOWS THE BAG WAS MANUFACTURED IN FRANCE, ON THE 29th WEEK OF 2028. I immediately made the Manager(s) of the store aware. I was met with much ARROGANCE from both managers, after explaining THOROUGHLY the very unfair/unfortunate situation! And STILL they refused to cooperate and refund me my money, forcing me to take legal action. NJ BUSINESS LAWS DO NOT EXEMPT SECOND HAND STORES (Thrift Shops) from selling counterfeit goods. ***The SALE PRICE along with its DISPLAY within the store (BEHIND THE COUNTER) IS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT*** It suggests that all parties involved were very much aware of the bags worth and ? responsible to ensure its AUTHENTICITY. I reported the Counterfeit Sale to the Consumer Affairs Department & interestingly enough the Investigator, Richard, assigned to my case was ridiculously rude, ignorant and not helpful whatsoever as he too denied me MY RIGHTFUL REFUND. Instead, he urged in a very condescending/threatening manner to return THE COUNTERFEIT BAG TO THE STORE IF I EXPECTED Any FURTHER ACTION TO BE taken ⁉️ Protocol is to confiscate the merchandise/report it to the FBI. Very suspicious activity ON BOTH SIDES. After MANY CONFLICTING EMAILS The detective from Financial Consumers Affairs (Bergen/Passaic County) lured me to his office on 11/8/25 under false pretenses, to refund my money upon returning the bag. Instead, I was presented with a FRAUDULENT OFFER/AGREEMENT FROM Blue Bucket Group I, LLC, dba Value Village, STATING THAT I WAS RETURNING THE BAG BC I WAS “UNHAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE” NO MENTION OF THE FRAUD/COUNTERFEIT AND STILL NO REFUND!!! SCAMMMMMMMERSSSSSSS … reported it to the FBI FOR KNOWLEDGE AND STRICT REVIEW ON BOTH PLACES!

Absolutely a joke. Staff is rude as hell and prices way overpriced. These people forget they are a drift store.

This store is nice if you don't mind digging. I found a bunch of handmade kids items for super cheap and some other good quality wool items on sale! Not bad if you're buying for yourself but resellers beware! You will have to dig to find decent prices. The discount colors were a plus. Not horrible prices, of course like any store they are going to upcharge some higher end items BUT overall, wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Huge store and good selection!!

I love Value Village in Hawthorne. I get great things that fit perfectly every time I go. Great deals daily depending on the color tags on the items. 3 colors offer 25, 50 or 75% off!

I went in yesterday to buy a few things, and when I got home I noticed I left some things behind. I called the place to see what I can do and the people who answer the phone, were very nasty. I am going to file a complaint with the better business bureau because this is unacceptable. I call and they purposely answer and hang up. Then the girl goes on to say “you didn’t talk to me I don’t know who you’re talking to and hung up”. I thought customers have the right. I worked in customer service for years and this is not acceptable what’s so ever. I have the receipts for what I bought. I will never buy from them again because of their employees. THANK YOU.

There has to be a crack down on the scam this donation thrift store & the outrageous prices they place on items that were “DONATED” for FREE! And being priced for as if similar retail price!! Buyers beware & don’t be ignorant to this! Educate yourself of the unfairness!

How does this store stay in business? Why do ANY of you shop there? I have never in my life seen such ridiculously overpriced items and I frequent Goodwill!!!! All thrift stores have lost the plot since Covid, but this place takes the cake. I honestly felt sorry for the shoppers I saw purchasing today because the amount of money they were spending on used clothes was criminal. Who owns this place? I actually want to know.

There are 2 dollar stores available: Family Dollar and Dollar Tree. Ran in for last minute cards to the latter. Shekves are full with what you need!

I've been coming to this location for years I've recently noticed the prices are a bit out of hand. Can't imagine they turn over those very overpriced worn in items. They have a good variety of clothes household items and kids items, but paying 30 bucks for a used polyester blouse or 80 dollars for worn discolored coats is ridiculous. Don't get me started on the bag selection 74 dollars for a very worn peeling leather bag makes no sense might as well go to Marshall's or Tj max. Keep in mind these are all donations that they are charging and arm and leg for very unethical.

Two male workers audibly rated my friend and I and spoke about our appearance while standing right behind us at checkout. Disgusting. One was short one was tall- both were 2/10.

Prices have gone up but if you mainly shop the three color tag discounted items, you can do pretty well. I've gotten some nice high-end label clothes (something I would never buy at the stores themselves because of the prices). Definitely a place where you have to check frequently.

Stopped by this charming secondhand shop in Hawthorne and was pleasantly surprised. They have a great selection of artwork, household items, and clothing. Some of the clothing prices felt a bit high for thrift, but with a little patience, you can definitely find some great gems. Worth a visit if you enjoy the thrill of the hunt!

Some locations are fine to shop at but don’t go to the hawthorn location especially if you are of different appearance or are neurodivergent. I have tattoos and I am a goth and i also have high functioning autism so I am somewhat socially awkward but not a criminal. I was made to feel very uncomfortable by the people working there. I have no criminal record and I am not the type of person to do anything that is illegal whatsoever. I simply was walking around and looking for things I liked to buy and I picked up an item from the shelf that said $4:99 and was going to pay for the items at the register. When I got to the register a woman who worked there yelled at me and said that is not the price and pointed to the item I was going to pay for. I didn’t know what she was talking about and I told her I didn’t do anything. Then she ripped the tag that said I changed the price when I didn’t. The tag said $4:99 and I had no idea that underneath it said $24 dollars. I was so confused and I was being falsely accused of trying to change the price when in reality I never did anything wrong and just picked something off the shelf and was going to pay for it. I was not the person who put the price tag on the item. And I tried to tell them I didn’t do what they accused me of and I am not a bad person but they refuse to listen and kept accusing me of something I did not do. I simply put all the items back and left. I will never shop at this store again and I don’t advise anyone who has body modification or looks different to shop there. It’s not a safe environment.

Can these staff members give a break to customers? I drove an hour to get there, found what I wanted and they didn’t sell it to me because it didn’t have a price tag, like it was my fault! The supervisor said there was a procedure to price items. Come on now, you’re not selling diamonds! Be practical, be nice! Will never set foot in this store. I went to Goodwill today, there was no tag on the pillow cases I wanted. It took three minutes to put a tag on them. Show respect to your customers and their time! Learn from Goodwill!

I was really excited to explore this thrift store, but unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed and overcharged. As I browsed through the racks and shelves, I noticed that many of the second-hand items were being sold at prices comparable to, or even higher than, their brand-new counterparts at retail stores. I specifically saw a few designer brand items that I knew were currently on sale at department stores for lower prices. It's hard to understand why I would pay more for a used item when I can get it new for cheaper. I hope the store reconsiders their pricing strategy to make their items more competitive and appealing to customers. Until then, I'll have to think twice before shopping here again.

Over priced mostly fast fashion. Prices feel exploitative. $13 lulu lemon bag. $25 cheap bongo from someone’s vacation with a name written on the top.

I have yet to venture into the clothing but the home items are extremely overpriced. I get not giving things away, but the prices we saw for a majority of items were WAY over the top. I was happy to snag the glass hand for $10. Not sure why that was way more reasonable than the other stuff pictured. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here but if I was in the area I'd stop.
Dec 21, 2024 -
Whoever is pricing these items is seriously out of their minds; asking for hundreds on used stuff. Definitely consider going somewhere more reasonable. The items in the picture are priced $99.99 and $149.99; does it seem reasonable?

I’m giving this place two stars because the people who work here do a great job of keeping it clean and organized properly. On the other hand, I will give it a very low score because why does this place have an armed guard for people buying old clothes and trinkets. I understand Thrifting became trendy, but there’s no reason for a poorly airbrushed Taz T-shirt to be displayed in the window for $40. The store is very disconnected from its community and it shows. I believed there would be a dystopia, but I didn’t think it would be that of a hipster dystopia.

Prices are outrageous, 20 dollars for a worn adidas sweater, 80 dollars for a worn jacket 150 for a leather coat. The prices have completely gotten out of hand. Mind you these are donated items that are WORN.

Overpriced! Thrift stores are intended to help the community and low income families but this thrift store takes full advantage of peoples disadvantages! I don’t know or understand the system in which they price items but jackets are starting at $40/$50 and up! Which raises the question, why shop second hand if the prices are going to be just as much or maybe more than retail prices. Attached are pictures of these ridiculous prices. (Faded glory leggings $14?!?!)This place should seriously reconsider

I used to come here with my cousins almost every Saturday because they have a Huge selection of clothes, toys , shoes , coats, purse and the best thing is the house decorations you can find so many beautiful items there. The only problem is ,that they have is the prices are insane.. one day I checked a rock a stone grey rock for $19.00 dollars like it wasn’t a big deal at all, also a shirt a white t-shirt . For $9.25 like whyy???? That was a simple shirt that before another person wore it.. It is a thrift store the price has to low a lil bit more so people can be more than happy to shop there .. because ; A) clothes are use and B) they are very old. (Some of them) .... So if this place take the time and consideration to low the price more, it would be way better and more people go There is another thing, they have a “ discount day” , but it’s Only for people who download their app. anyway I like the store what I don’t like is how high prices are!

Always love it. This place is amazing!!! Great deals and great finds! Something for everyone! I like coming here because it is open every single day. Even on holidays! But if you come on Holidays there is literally a line around the block, so come early if you want to get something good because holidays are 50% off the price. Another good time to come is Mondays and Thursdays also 10% percent off. Honestly its a win win, the variety of clothes and stuff they have is really so worth it to check out. Especially their designer brands.
