I don’t usually leave reviews on places I have had issues with but today I came in for car troubles and the older African American man was very rude and hard to work. I came in to this location even though the other reviews aren’t the best for this particular employee to give him a chance and to say the least is they were correct. He was rude, sarcastic, and made comments that made me uncomfortable. It almost felt like a racism issue (not to try and play that card) It’s a shame because I’ve always tried to believe the best in this location but don’t think I’ll be returning or recommending it. I’ve also noticed this employee has worked here for at least 6 months based off other reviews so clearly nothing has been done about this issue at hand.

Terrible service. I was assisted by an old man with a sour face. I bought a thermostat, but I'm not a mechanic, so I grabbed the cheapest one and had to go back because it wasn't the right one. The man got angry when I went back and he told me that he had asked me before which one I wanted and he would change it for me, but with a very bad attitude. I will never go back to that place. I'm paying for a service, they're not giving me anything for free. 😡

My husband, Michael Lowe, came into the store on Sat. 12/28/24 at 11:00 AM to return a Windshield Washer Fluid Pump for my 2007 Honda Civic that he bought last week at the Lee's Summit location. It was obvious when my husband took the pump off my vehicle that it was the wrong part, because the one he took off looks completely different than the one in the clear plastic box. He did not open the box. He didn't attempt to install the part. He also had his receipt. Why was it different? Because, some 2007 Hondas were made in Japan and some were made in Canada. Mine happen to be made in Canada. The older Black man behind the counter has been there for a long time and has a HUGE attitude problem, that no one at Advanced Auto Corporate or otherwise cares about how he treats their customers. This is NOT OKAY. I DO NOT CARE what his problems are. If he is rude to the general public, then he needs to be reprimanded and if not corrected then fired and find a job not working with the public!!! He claimed that it couldn't be taken back, because it was an electronic part and to read the return policy. The box was tattered from original purchase and the part was clearly in PERFECT CONDITION. There are many reviews providing the same exact situation, where this same man would not take back a tool that was not an electronic part. What are you Advanced Auto going to do about this employee that is completely rude and disrespectful to your customers, other than a canned, automatic sorry reply??? If this is the best you can find for employees, than SHUT THIS STORE DOWN. Customers, please DO NOT support this store or it's behavior and go out of your way to go to a different Advanced Auto or a different Auto Parts store that cares about their customers!

Jason very nice and great customer service any time I’m there. Old African black man with black glasses at the front is the complete opposite. Very grumpy and even yelled at me when I didn’t know what lugnuts he told me to get from the shelf. In no circumstance should an employee yell at a customer. Terrible service from old African guy with glasses will not come back

I had bought the wrong socket and hadn't used it and wanted to exchange for the right one. The old man told me I had used it and told me to get out of the store "cracker". Probably explains a 60+ year old African American with hate in his heart. Sad.

Trash all workers distracted on phones. I got home after she spent the entire transaction talking on a phone to find out I was given the wrong break pads lol. What was the point of the 20 questions I answered correctly if you can’t give me the correct piece.

My son and I called this grandview location at 7:35am, the phone was answered and voice said We ain’t open right now! They hung up. So we drove up there to find this elderly man in there with the door locked. It is not 7:50am. My son walked to the door and it was locked, he knocked on the door and the man said I’m not opening up right now. My son said when will you open and he yelled I said I’m not opening up right now!!!. My son got upset and yelled back. I got out and said a You’re supposed to be open now. Couldn’t understand what he said. I told him I would let the cooperate office know of his behavior. He said So!! Oh well! Something like that!! I told him If he was too scared or too old to open the store by himself they should schedule someone with him. Never had anyone refuse to open up when it’s the time to!! Very upsetting!! Very rude employee!!

Took 1 1/2 days and two chats with customer service to get them to pull my part that I ordered online. So much for ready in 30 minutes. I remember now why I haven't done business with Advance in years.

I hate standing in lines and I especially hate standing in lines to spend money on something to keep my vehicle going. Paid for my part online, got the text my part would be ready in 30mins, pulled up and my part was ready to go! Service at its finest! Happy, Loyal Customer!

Called first to be sure they had a battery that would fit my car and checked to see if they could install it for me. Gentleman that answered the phone checked and it was a yes on both accounts. Took me a couple hrs to make my way over there and by that time the guy I had originally talked to was gone, so I talked to Henry and he was great! Found the battery right away that I wanted. Store got busy and he was the only one there, but I didn't have to wait very long at all and after the other customers left he helped me switch out the battery. Had it done in a jiffy and I was very happy. I know someone else in a review complained about him, but I found him to be very nice, soft spoken, and helpful. This was my first visit to this location, and I will be back.

I don't recommend using this location's pick up service. I have tried twice, and each time I have arrived with an "Order Ready" email only to find my order is not ready and it will be "a while" before it is. The first time, the person helping me wasn't sure they even had the item I needed in stock. The staff is helpful for the most part, but it's frustrating that the order system is clearly either faulty, or the staff is just pressing buttons to clear things for metrics.

Super rude staff. As a retail manager I was completely appalled at the attitude this guy had. Came in a few days ago to have my codes read and get what I needed to change my spark plugs. My very first interaction with Henry he was rude. Then the rudeness continued until he actually started showing me parts, then he was nice until I left. I ended up having a friend offer to do my plugs so I didn't need everything I purchased. I went back to return some items and he started sighing and shaking his head and dumped the stuff all over the counter saying "I knew you'd be one of those to bring this back cause you were trying to do it yourself." It wasn't just that he was annoyed, he was actually being hostile. Who talks to a customer like that? I'm really disappointed because I had such a great experience at the Silverthorne location that I was planning on using AAP from now on but I think I'll go back to O'Reilly's. They're always kind and helpful.

This store was great for years, until the last few months. The new manager is rude and reminds you constantly that SHE IS the manager. Won’t warranty parts that are still supposed to be covered. She won’t open the store on time. She always gives me the wrong parts. RUDE RUDE RUDE! Even my kids thought she was extremely rude. I can’t shop here any more.

This location is customer friendly. I had an emergency situation with my truck and Brian went over and beyond to assist me with safely getting back on the road. He was honest and very helpful. Brian keep up the good work. We need more people like you in our communities.

Terrible customer service now. This place used to be good. Not sure what happened but the employees (including the "supervisor") rather play on their phones and hassle you about your return than do their job. If I want to return an unused product (ahem this same young guy was already mentioned by other reviewers) than JUST DO IT. That is literally part of your job. Very lazy. Typical. We will never return here. O'Reily is better!

Guys are friendly but not my favorite auto parts store. They will not help you like another auto store does change your windshield wipers, change a light bulb in your rear tail lights, help you put oil or antifreeze in your car and more. As a woman who does not know how to do these things it is so helpful when you go to an auto parts store and they are so helpful and assist you with these things.

I always had good experience with advance and i always recognized the older employee is very nice but, this time this other younger employee was rude and didnt care about what he was doing, if that’s all there was I wouldn’t write the review. I ordered online and i went to pick up and this is what i got, a box that was water damaged and rusted break pads, They need to check up on this guy and also the inventory to make sure you are not giving customers damaged and rusted items.

Always had good experiences with employees and staff. Allowed me to borrow tools and work on my car in parking lot after I bought the part of course lol but still a very pleasing experience besides spending my money lol Never an issue. Prices are not always the lowest compared to competitors but I’d rather spend a few more dollars and have good service.

Went to get my battery checked. They told me I didnt have to come inside they would send someone out in a minute to check it. I waited 20 minutes then recalled. They then told me I had to come in. I went in and they said they couldn't check it because they had customers. There was 1 customer and 2 employees. Once he realized I was going to wait inaide he then came out to check the battery. He said it was reading bad but he didn't think it was the battery that I should take it to an auto shop. The auto shop said it was the battery. I went back to advanced Auto and asked how much the battery was he didnt want to tell me. He said didnt we already tell you through the auto shop? The other employee said the price is different. He then gave me the price and said what you want to buy a battery? I said that's why I'm here. He started ringing me up. I asked if they would install it. He said no, it's too dark. There are plenty of lights in the parking lot. Not a problem to see exactly what they're doing. I wont be back.

Absolutely shocking. I had a defective part with a receipt. I came into the store and handed the receipt, and not just a receipt but a commercial parts invoice, and part to Jason at the counter. He took it and looked at it looked at me then went in back for like 10-15 mins. When he came back to the counter very rudely told me he called the store where the part was purchased and they couldn't remember selling it to me. What!?!?!?. Are you serious?!?!? Then told me he was unable to do the return!!! So hold on here let's just review. I purchased a part from advanced auto 1 week ago and it quit working and left me stranded I now I'm treated like the criminal!!! Very insulting and embarrassing. The only good thing I can say about Advanced Is that when I promptly called the district manager he sounded genuinely apologetic and concerned about what happened. Come on, get your act together Advanced. In particular Grandview MO location.

Watch out for the prices being different when you check out than shown on the shelf. I paid $8 more for a gallon of oil than I should have. I called, had all of the receipt information which they confirmed, but they could not just put it back on the receipt. Now I have to drive all the way there again just to get this money back. It is easier to just submit a claim on my credit card than to deal with these guys again. Fortunately I have found a different place to purchase my auto supplies from.

As I stepped in I was quickly greeted by Jason and Brian E. and asked if he can help me with my car problem.. I mentioned what I needed and showed me options... Excellent service by both Gents and great atmosphere.. I got what I needed and the experience was definitely awesome... Thanks Guys...

This location is reliably unreliable. We order commercial parts from Raytown location even though this store is less than a mile away. Normally for us it’s a joke how bad they are but every now and then we will order from them to see if we can get simple parts quicker than from the 20 minute drive from raytown. We are always disappointed with the grandview store. And the staff and manager Dave would rather place the blame on us than to simply send the part.

A great place for boys to grow and become great scouts. Food leaves room for improvement, but can't complain since scout camp cost for 10 day camping is more than great. I would gladly pay more if food improved

Looks like Jr's Jr's writes bad reviews at every place they go. Maybe it's not the stores but the customer. And why don't some of you try working retail to see what kind of bullshit these sales people have to put up with from the public plus 3 or 4 phone lines ringing before you trash them. Maybe then you won't be so hard on them. This store has more stock parts on the shelf than the competitors in the area. Always had what I needed.

Very bad service, they answers the phone in our customers right on hold, doesn't ask any questions or anything I called 10 times in a row in Jake put me on hold every time!! Beside the customer service inside the store is worse. That store needs 2 closed down completely or a new staff

I understand when a store is very busy it may take a minute or 2 to get my questions answered, but there is no reason that I should have had to wait at the store for an hour to get the part that I needed. After taking several customers first that had come in after me, Jose knowingly sold me the wrong part. He was very rude, and treated me like I didn't know anything because I'm a woman. He told me it would work just the same. And when I went back to return the part he then told me that they don't make and can't order the right part. Really? It was ridiculous. He obviously didn't care about my business. I have been a loyal Advance shopper for as long as I can remember, but last night was the last time I will ever go to Advance for my auto parts. I took the $105.68 that I spent on the part at advance and went down the road to AutoZone where they didn't have the part in stock, but could order the correct one and have it for me in less than 24 hours. So, long story short, don't shop here.
