first time dropping off copper, I am impressed with their organization and simple process making it super easy and quick. everyone was very helpful and kind.
Havent even gonna bring my stuff in after talking to 50 people around the brainerd/ baxter area who have made the mistake of bringing their metals in. No visible scale and these guys dropping prices by 50% on one guy because he was getting ripped off and they said they would fix it and then came back and said prices dropped in the last 5 mins and screwed him over because they already unloaded his load. And the mysterious helium filled scale they use and wont show you… DO NOT BRING YOUR METALS HERE.. BAD IDEA!!!
Great people, but was surprised once I took some old batteries in for a small resort and they paid penny's on the pound for them. They paid about $32. For 11 batteries. You are better off taking them to Auto parts stores that give you $10 each for in-store credit. That's where I'll taking the old ones from golf carts and boats that need to changed out.
How absolutely frustrating
My husband brought in two pounds of copper and was only given credit for one and I think if that's how they're going to do things then we're done going to them
and we've been going to these guys for yeeeears
so I guess it's to Monticello we go with our next recycling bundle
that's really sad this is how they make their money
Haven't had a bad experience. Only been there a few times. There is a sign in the office with their current prices so that's nice. They've been helpful when I've gone in. It'd be nice if you could see your weights when pulling on and off the scale. One thing I'm not a huge fan of is that when you cash out with the matching you don't get change, only cash. So if your total is say $15.80 you get $15. I waited like a dork at the machine for far too long before realizing.
This is a very reliable business. I have gone to get rid of my scrap iron for 20yrs now and all i can say is people need to have patience and respect. Their jobs here are very dangerous, and high stress. Appreciated and i am very thankful for Crow Wing Recycling.
Felt as if they didn't want me there. They told me I couldn't use a card & that it was $5. Had to leave & come back. Which is fine, even though they have never charged me before. So I found that odd. Inconsistent anyway.
Also, not ONE mask worn inside their office or in their garages. Not one.
Bad Buisness Hauled a semi load of iron in handed me my slip said 50 a ton I told them I had a commercial account so it should be 60 a ton they took the paper back gave me a new one for 30 a ton said price just dropped that’s dirty pool I will never bring anything there again
If going do not let them have you put all your metals in one bin even if staff says to. Sort them by type, and weigh separately. Otherwise you will find they will pay at the lowest sheet rate. They will not tell you this when you bring metal in, so make sure you are on top of it. Aside from that underhandedness, the staff has been helpful in unloading, polite whenever I have brought individual items in.. just make sure you are better prepared for sorting, and weighing your individual types better.
