Be sure to open the drawers to find the vast collection of vintage hardware. Great selection of other antiques as well. Very busy on a Saturday afternoon

The door sign shows stairs. There are no stairs. The entrance is the door on the left. The Detroit Urban Artifacts sandwich sign should be on the left side instead of on the right side of the main doors with zero door handles that are all locked.
The store is on the right, you will start seeing items out in the main corridor.
We ended up buying several metal signs for our store and an old black and white poster card of the Dom in Koeln. I used to love walking by there while living in Koeln and every time I was by the Hauptbahnhof.
It’s a fun store to stroll through and walk through memories of the past.
Faygo $550
Vernors $650
Welcome to Detroit $250
One Way $67
Koeln black and white poster card $7
Definitely worth a gander and a visit. You are bound to find some gem.Jan 25, 2026 -

I don’t write reviews but the owner Matt needs to be investigated if he hasn’t been already. Horrible.

Not as much architectural stuff as I thought there will be, but some cool stuff.

Saw an item listed on FB Marketplace, messaged with the owner, went in an hour later to pick it up, and had to pull myself away from exploring every corner of the space! Definitely going back for more pieces. Staff was nice and welcoming.

Great knowledgeable and friendly staff, awesome selection of not only Detroit artifacts but antiques in general from many eras. Excellent pricing, and not only for the items I bought, but also what they offered me for some items that I was getting rid of. 10 out of 10 would recommend this place to everyone looking for Detroit related items as well as other antiques. The store itself is laid out nicely and items are easy to find, 100 worth checking out, I'm sure you'll come away happy with your purchase or just window shopping!

Awesome space with a large selection of urban artifacts! From furniture, magazines, glassware, random items! Go check it out. I will say the 5 stars is because they price things reasonably.

This is an amazing antique mall. The guy that runs this place is INCREDIBLY friendly! I got a rare roadsign at a very reasonable price. I LOVE my Welcome to Detroit sign. The building also has some vintage elevators and restrooms as well!

Detroit Urban Artifacts is by FAR the coolest vintage and architectural salvage shop in Michigan! I’ve been into cool old things and rifling through my grandmas attic since I was a kid, and this place gives me those exact same feelings of being on the hunt for the next buried treasure! Every corner you turn and every drawer you open has something unique for you to find! Each item has a lifetime of history and experiences in the world and it’s so fun to imagine where each item has been throughout its lifetime! Every time I find myself in this shop I come home with several new treasures to fill my home with. Ryan and Holly are both super knowledgeable and friendly and always ready to answer any questions, help you find what you’re looking for, or even just chat about the cool vintage stuff you inherited from Aunt Sue!

This is a really cool place and my photos do not do it justice. Ryan the owner was pleasant and truly helpful- he found the hinge we were looking for. We had already searched the drawers and found one however he searched and found it's mate!! I would venture to say that it has the largest selection of antique door knobs and hardware definitely in Michigan and beyond.
From floor to at least 12 foot ceiling- it was full. Furniture, antiques, vintage clothing, hardware, signs, glassware, doors, collectibles, and so much more to even attempt to list. Things were organized yet there were nooks, shelves, and drawers that made the search even more fun. Reasonably priced- we are talking very unique antiques!Nov 13, 2023 -
This gem is my new favorite antique store!! They have EVERYTHING an artist or collector could want!! We love creating art, and there is a huge variety of salvaged items and hardware that could be used for reporposing. The couple that owns the place are super kind and helpful. The space they have in Russel Industrial Center has so much character and things to look at in every nook, drawer and cranny. Come have a look and plan to spend some time. It is not hard to find!! Support our AMAZING city and the many unique small businesses!! This one is truely a gem!

Detroit Urban Artifacts is so easy to find, but it's nearly impossible to leave. So many cool things! ...lighting, wall art, furniture (shout out to the 60s Saarinen-style tulip chairs), vases, 40s-50s advertising signs, vintage tees... and more, more, more! Those that run this wonderful slice of industrial Detroit are so pleasant too!

A great place to come on a cloudy day. Lots of cool vintage, antique, and salvage. Ryan is super cool, and will usually make deals with you, even though his prices are already really good.
