Very poor people to do business with. I do not recommend any company that cold calls, or sends unsolicited messages. Especially after being asked to stop. They are predatory and very annoying. Vote with your money. Don't spend it on companies like this.

3 years with my Lil Herc and this thing still brings joy to me when I get to show what it can do. I can go from the mud/off-road calls to regular stranded motorist and even clearing accidents for the local police and then clean it up and go run errands to even tow my race car to the track.(we even cleared a car from the track once when we were at a test and tune) If anyone is ever hesitant trust me it will pay itself off a soon as you can put it to work. Went in for for a faulty main seal on my up/down cylinder ended up replacing it for a newer updated cylinder. Now truck carry’s dam near a semi no problem stop in about 1pm left there about 2:30 great service the whole company is down to earth and they don’t bullshit when it comes to there systems lbs will buying from them for now on thanks Mike for the badass shirt to.

I’ve been running a Detroit Wrecker unit on my commercial XL Ford for several years, covering hundreds to thousands of miles per tow—racking up nearly 200,000 loaded miles. The unit has held up impressively under this heavy use, and I often get compliments on how cool it looks. The only issue I’ve had is the front end feeling a bit light due to the unit being installed behind the axle, which slightly affects the ride. I also broke one pin after about 150,000 miles, though I couldn’t pinpoint why. I didn’t pursue a warranty claim given the mileage, but when I called Michael after 5 PM, he answered immediately and discussed solutions with me.
While I haven’t always loved Michael’s answers to my concerns, his customer service is unmatched. Every text or call—day or night—gets a prompt response, even if I’ve interrupted his family time. These are handcrafted units made in the USA with incredible craftsmanship. If there’s a minor flaw, the exceptional support more than compensates. The price of parts or warranty details isn’t my focus; what matters is getting answers and solutions fast so I can keep making money. If you’re serious about towing, you’ll value Detroit Wrecker’s reliability and service. I hope Michael keeps this level of dedication going, but I also hope he gets a chance to retire early—he’s earned it!
My partner runs several Lil Herc 2.0 and my team and I convert them to run on propane and use gasoline as a backup. Brought the units in for service we had a couple questions since the trucks have been rolling over a year we have not had to do anything but regular PM. One of the best products I have ran! They have put a lot of time and thought into the lift and it shows! I have ran many different trucks/lifts/beds/brands and this team is killing it! We have been using the forklift attachments in both our yards for over 2 years. We seem to do our best at putting them through their paces. We move over 75 wrecked cars per day with the unit attached to a Kubota 640r wheel loader (Water in the rear tires) for extra counter weight. Have we Broken things? "Yes" Have things gotton worn? "Yes". Has the staff at Detroit Wrecker Sales Been Helpfull getting us back up and running " Absolutly Yes". I would highly recomend to anyone looking for an attachment for moving vehicles in their impound to purchase from this company.

I have been dealing with Detroit Wrecker for the past 4 Years. I have to say their customer service is the best in the industry. I have never contacted them and not got a quick response no matter if its for parts or just a technical question. I have used other companies forklift attachment for years but the forklift attachment Detroit Wrecker builds is by far superior in quality and easily maintained. When I have had a problem, I have been able to contact Mike directly for any technical advise or to get parts delivered with very little down time. I highly recommend these people for all your wrecker needs.

Tried 2 manufacturers now and was scammed by both! Never ever have I been scammed by someone who can look you in the eye and straight up lie! Detroit Wrecker [Mike] Will say he is selling you the best and charges dearly for it but in reality, it breaks a ton and good luck trying to get warranty work done. I was essentially told to go pound salt after the 4th time I had an issue that never should have happened. 34k down the drain with my 100k truck. I will be buying from Zips or another reputable builder in the next weeks and lose 50k in the process.
We are currently running a 2015 Chevrolet 3500 HD LTZ that had a Detroit Wrecker Lil Hercules wheel lift installed by the guys at Detroit Wrecker when the truck was new. This truck is still running strong today with 209,000 Miles and has towed cars, trucks, and vans behind it with ease the entire time we have had it. We have never had a single problem out of this wheel lift. We cant wait to buy a new truck and put the Lil Hercules 2 wheel lift on it. Thank you for making a product worth being loyal to. Another must in any product for us is quality customer service. Mike and his team go over and beyond. Its rare to find such a great product and such exceptional customer service. If you are looking for a business to turn your truck into a tow truck that’s going to do what they advertise the product is going to do then look no further. Mike and his team at Detroit Wrecker are top notch! Laura should give classes on customer service. My business is 8 hrs away and they made me feel like I was right around the corner. They kept me informed on every single thing they were doing and if I had a question it was either answered immediately or by the end of the day. I bought a wheel lift attachment from Detroit Wrecker Sales just shy of two years ago. The attachment was more expensive than the ones we had been buying from a large wrecker manufacturer. I had even complained to them that what they are selling does not last and impossible to service with the plastic bushings they use. We would go through one of them every year.
The attachment from Detroit was actually recommended by a dealer that sells for the large wrecker manufacturer and his words were "it is bullet proof", I scoffed at the comment and said we will see about that my guys will certainly give it the test of its life. We move over 100 cars a day with this thing and it just started to show signs of wear. All the bushings are worn so I looked on the web-site and found the schematic and called Jen and just like that the parts are on there way.
To sum it up, those words its "Bullet Proof" were correct and if you are in the market for a forklift attachment do not look any further. No one makes one this robust and reliable. We have tore it up but its been repaired with ease and quickly.
Great product great company that stands behind its products and I highly recommend.

8-30-22 I have to amend my great review, we have bought three of these wheel lift attachments over the last few years and the are the best on the market. Now Mike won’t sell the parts. He would rather make you buy another wheel lift attachment than service his products. It’s a shame because they are so rebuildable. Great product is useless without parts that are reasonabley priced.
I drove 23 hours from Florida to Detroit wrecker and I found myself with better results than I had in mind, the quality of the work, the quality of everything used in the electrical and hydraulic components of the best quality, everything was excellent, better than I imagined, the material of the lil herc 2.0 of the best quality and every perfect detail,, I was super satisfied with the service and punctuality!, the owner directly communicates and keeps you up to date with photos and videos of the whole process I recommend them 100%
It has been one year since the installation of my Lil Herc unit, I couldn’t have picked a better place to take my truck. I can go on all day about the unit. But the biggest thing is, from the time I dropped my truck off, I received updates via text along with pictures daily, until my truck was picked up. It felt good to feel like I was actually there with them through the build. Communication is top notch, the unit has paid for itself 3xs. And the only problem I’ve had is ,that I don’t have another one to make more money!!! Lol

When you look at the price your first instinct is to just keep swiping left. That’s what I did. A valuable lesson well learned because in this industry you get what you pay for. This by far is the best investment for my yard when it comes to moving vehicles around. Originally we had bought a $3000usd version from another manufacturer. Lasted a year before I had to start reinforcing and fabricating weak points in their model. Hands down I’ve used Detroits Gladiator for a day so far and strength and quality is Detroits middle name per my standards. I’m content on saying this was built to last. As long as you take care of it. Grease is my best friend. But to justify the price you gotta think how much money you’ll save in fuel and damage on equipment that’s made to make you money on the street. Thanks again Detroit Wrecker. You got my vote.
