I am sincerely disturbed not only after hearing what this company did to my partner today, but after reading the other countless poor reviews sharing similar experiences. My partner has a private business where he rents vehicles out to people and one of his clients wrecked the vehicle. The vehicle was placed on police hold for over a week, which was insanely unnecessary in the first place, given the accident details. My partner was not allowed to even SEE his vehicle. After days of trying to retrieve his vehicle back so his company could take care of the insurance costs, they finally notify him that the car is off hold (with hundreds of dollars of holding fees added, of course). To obtain his vehicle was over $700..... Crooks. They notified him he could use card only to tell him he could not, 10 minutes before closing. Mind you, he had been there back and forth all day obtaining all the materials the company needed. He finally makes it to the bank and gets their exact amount, 1 minute before closing. Apparently you cannot be helped one minute after closing unless you were there before closing time. They were denied service and another day of holding fees will be added due to the towing reception's mistake. This company seems to enjoy stealing from people in tough positions, and for what? A fake, gold Rolex? Shameful. I pray they go out of business and stop scamming innocent people.
THEY ILLEGALLY TOWED MY CAR! Now they are trying to charge me $350. Friday night around 2:30am my tire went flat. My friend and I were going to pick up my client who I drive from and to work. So I called and text him to let him know. He caught an Uber and offered me an uber just Incase we couldn’t get home. So I had to wait for my aunt to get from work to go get the tire and to change out the flat tire, she got off around 5pm Friday and the tire place closed at 6pm. She made it 5:46 and the tire place is 10mins away so no go. So I went out Saturday afternoon. My car is gone. No glass or pieces so I know it was told but why. MI law is that the car has 48hrs before considered abandon. They said the state police had it towed and side it was abandoned. It has food Receipt in it from earlier That day from Taco Bell and churches chicken. No where near 48hrs or even 24hrs when they towed it. It has my 8 month old daughter things in there. When I called the lady was rude. They towed it 14 miles away from my home when it was only 3 miles away. Not paying for that. Will be contacting everyone Monday. If they don’t tow my car to my house I will being suing.
These people are the worst, they charge my boyfriend with 475 for one day then 20 dollars a day, smh.. they just make up anything to charge him with, that's how I see it. Flat bed fee, gate fee, in the lot fee, in the street tow fee, (first of all, his car was by the curb.. it was not in the middle of the streets)
And then they wanna charge for the daily storage fee too? Which that we have no problem paying, but I feel like they are literally trying to price gouge him cause his plate is from Florida. But then I was looking at all the other reviews and they are doing that to everyone. This company needs to be reported... everyone should come together and try to do something about this. They need to close down and I will ask my family lawyer about this. This just feel like we are literally being taken advantage of. Smh.. shame on them. And then they don't open up on the weekends!!
terrible service. was told that i would have to pay $525 to get my car out of their lot after i was in a car accident! if i had known i would’ve taken the vehicle to my house instead, but no one gave me the option! terrible business. truly making it harder for people going thru a rough time.
The staff there that day was very understanding and sympathetic to me because I was coming to remove what items that I could from my husband's truck because he just passed away in it from an accident. They only allowed 1 person at a time to go in the yard but she must have seen my face because when I told my brother-in-law when he arrived, she allowed both of us to go in. The man that brought his truck to the gate so that we could get whatever we could out, was very sympathetic as well and I really appreciated the fact that he allowed my brother-in-law and I to have a alone time with my husband's truck because this was the first time that we saw the truck up close.

I'm very disappointed with them. My son had an accident on 96 Freeway with the wall, within two hours they Towed the Car away. Didn't nobody ask them to tow the Car, we got AAA.
So now, they want $150 and keep the Car or pay a high amount to get the Car back.
Great company, they direct with the price which I appreciated. They came out at 1am at night on Labor Day and towed my vehicle in Detroit when others wouldn’t answer the phone. Definitely my go to and I highly recommend them to you.

They stole my belongings out of my car and then told me nobody had access to the vehicle but my things were missing. They gave me a hard time overall. They hire people who hate coming to work and take it out on the customers 0 out of ten DO NOT RECCOMMEND.
This is the second tow yard I have visited today. What is wrong with these women? Did they wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? Had to deal with another young lady that lack in customer service skills. There is a signed posted that states "We want our customers to be satisfied when leaving". I may not have quoted the exact words but how do you expect your customers to leave satisfied when they are being met with attitude as soon as they walk inside the building? I pray that whatever this young lady is going through, Lord put your arms around her Hold her tight and keep her close. Remove the stumbling blocks in Jesus name. Amen
A complete scam. It’s unethical that the police have a co tract with them. I’ve been in accidents before and was able to get to my car to get my things no problem. My car was totaled and forced by them to be towed here. Did not expect the complete money grab it would turn out to be. They are corrupt, that’s all you need to know. It’s a shame. People are already in a mess after their car being totaled and this place makes it 1000x worse. I’ve lost so much faith in life and humanity after this accident and dealing with this place. Shame on the police, shame on this company.
My son had an accident and his car was towed to this God forsaken place. Just like the majority of reviews here, his experience was terrible. The first time he went there to retrieve his belongings from the car, they told him since his car was totaled, he could sign over the car to them and he would be able to get into the car. Needless to say, during this time, the young lady behind the steel door was very rude and condescending at first telling my son they didn't have his car when come to find out, the car was there but wasn't in their system. Well, we went back down there today and now they tell us in addition to needing to have his title he needs to pay $150.00 before he can get back to his car to get his belongings. I protested and asked to speak to a manager. Yet again, another woman with a stank attitude. She tells me that the charge is per the Michigan State Police and points to a sign posted. So I go to pay using my debit card and she tells me that the card machine is broken. Then she says she can direct me to the nearest bank or ATM to get cash. (which by the way, they only accept if you have the exact amount) Ridiculous!!!!! This place needs to be shut down because of their unnecessary up charging, and unscrupulous business practices. Shame on them and shame on the Michigan State Police for being in business with them as they are complicit in all of this. Hopefully more people will take notice of this horrible place and look to not do business with them. Like my mother use to say, "if more than 2 people are saying the same thing about you then it must be true." All of the negative reviews definitely have merit. This place does not deserve to be in business with the way they treat honest hardworking people.
I showed up not realizing that I needed an appointment. A particular number was missing as well, so I was not able to pick up my vehicle. The lady assisting me was not rude about it. She even looked to make sure they had my car while explaining what I needed.
Tip...GPS goes crazy with the directions so prepare to drive in circles for a bit. The entrance to the building is not on Mt. Elliott. Look for a big navy blue building. I accidentally went to the little tan building first.
Warning! At all cost do not let the DPD have your vehicle towed to this company if possible!! Staff is very rude and unprofessional. I was charged over 300 dollars to get my car out after one day and for some reason unexplained the towing company I called (United towing) is not allowed on there lot. I will be reporting this company to Fox News. The people deserve to be aware of such a shady place that goes out of there way to legally scam people that are having a hard time.

If you have everything in order the process will go easy. I love the girl behind the counter she is nice and sweet whenever I go grab cars from there. The Lunch time is a little inconvenient but hey they gotta eat too.
The young lady helping me was very curt. She indicated cannot not give change back. Therefore if your bill is 155.00 and you give $160.00 they keep the $5. Really.

Very unprofessional staff. The young lady who I spoke with is very incompetent with a nasty attitude. Regardless if she takes her job serious or not, it’s still a place of business and consumers that come in are already stressed enough. Before you all hire someone make sure they at least have some customer service experience and more intelligence than a grain of rice. I had too much of a hard time getting my car towed to a dealership that my insurance was paying for in the first place. Why would they pay another tow truck company to pick up my car from a tow truck company????
My car was recently towed. I believe the Detroit police has a partnership with LIJBS. If you need to get your car out of the lot make sure you get there before 4 pm. Upon arriving you have to be buzzed in. The guy behind the door was extremely rude with me. It came off as very unprofessional. I had to go outside in the lot to get my license and registration and I was charged for that. I paid $315 to get my car back and it was just there overnight. When they brought my car out I checked to see if there was body damage because I read a review that this company scratched up someone else’s car. When the guy brought my car out of the lot I found this paint scratch on my front bumper. I just got my car recently so I know for sure they did it. Very poor experience overall with L.I.J.B.S.
This company is fradulent they lie to customers in order to inflat prices. They told me my car wasn't there even though i had tracked it to their lot. I had the police tell me my car was there and they still refused me, finally i called and reported it stolen since they claimed to not have it. Oh and instanly not only was it there it was right up front. Last thing the price gouged during the flood disater in detroit charging peolpe as much as $800 for 1 day of storage
Due to the unfortunate ran in late June 2021, my son's car caught in the flooding waters at 2am in the morning. His car, along with other vehicles were moved to the median. We called AAA and had a 10 hour wait for a tow. We located an independent tow truck driver to retrieve the car before then. When we arrived, the car was gone! It wasn't even 24 hours. Called the MI State Police and was given the information to LIJBS Towing...it goes down hill from there. I called to inquire about the car and right off the bat they were rude!! They answered the phone, told me to hold on and didn't come back to the phone for several minutes. I could hear their conversation, because apparently, they don't know how to use the hold button or it was a cell phone. I couldn't get all my questions answered before I was told, I can't see about it today, I would have to come on Monday, which was two day later. That means storage fees, which was $20 a day. The storage fees weren't the issue, the issue was the horrendous amount of extra fees and cost they added. It went from $60 to over $1,000!! How do you sleep at night LIJBS TOWING, knowing you are robbing people?!? I could understand if the car was there for days, but we went to get the car before 5pm!! If this is they way you do business, you need to close your doors immediately!! Cheating people WILL catch up to you...eventually...
One big rip off! Try to avoid having your vehicle towed by them. They charge you $75 just to go into your vehicle to get something & they say that it's a policy of Detroit police, not them!I was going to turn my vehicle over to them because it was totaled but they wanted me to pay a $150 towing fee on top of me signing my car over to them for NOTHING!
The tow truck driver did a great job! He was there within 30 minutes. That's the only reason they have two stars instead of one.
Lady was rude and even lied about me call her about my stole trailer. The police call me at 8pm Aug 5th. I spoke with her for the first time at 8:30am . I asked her want did I need to get my trailer. She told my the registration and my I'd. I even asked if the trailer was able to towed home. When I get there. She claims she told I need 315 dollars. Plus she don't tell me that I need to send them text with me information. They had my trailer 4 days before they called me. The trailer was missing tire. They are ripping Detroit off ... Beware the lady that answer the phone will lie to you.....
I would honestly give this place ZERO stars if it was an option. Other than being extremely rude to me, my boyfriend, and to the collision center, they caused further damage to my car. They also left my keys in the car, making the battery die, yet said they couldn’t find keys to my car. They also had the nerve to completely ransack my car - leaving my glove box, trunk, and back seat a mess! They were never on time delivering my car to the collision center, making this process even longer and drawn out, and also made the insurance appraiser wait all day, just to have to come back another day. I would rather personally push my car to the collision shop, before ever letting this horrible joke of a company handle anything of mine!
The Worst Towing Experience Ever.... Literal Legal Car Thieves
I had a rollover crash on the freeway, I wanted to call my insurance company to tow the vehicle. The state police convinced me to let this towing company take my vehicle. I was out of the hospital in an hour and went to retrieve my vehicle at which point they said it was 318 dollars before 4 pm. I got there at 3:00 the price was 360 plus taxes and it would have been over $400 and more money everyday after. Detroit is a poor city and this company deliberately does this because they know most people can't afford it which means they'll have to forfeit their vehicle. I was able to get my vehicle but I know people who've had their vehicles stolen and this company wants to charge several hundred dollars just for the person to see their vehicle after it's been retrieved. Talk about victimizing the victim twice and they have they blessing of the courts and police departments to get away with this. This towing company is nothing more than the mob backed by the police to make money for the city. Needs to be closed or truly regulated because most of the cars and trucks on the lot belong to single moms who can't afford another costly bill, they lose their cars and have to catch the bus with children in dangerous conditions. Heartless, don't ever let this company tow anything for you. This company has legally taken lots of vehicles using shady tactics. Everything I stated here is facts
The customer service rep Chase was friendly and courteous. Sad they didnt tell me in advance about the 5% surcharge for using debit card. Add almost $23 to my final bill. Would have stopped at bank and picked up cash.
Worst service I've experienced, bar-none. Our needs went unattended for an hour while others were helped behind us in line, misleading information over the phone was given to us, after service was paid we waited for monetary change and our vehicle for an extended time. The services are well overpriced. I was looking forward to a seat

I am extremely disappointed in the customer service and lack of information given. They twisted their rules around so that I had to wait an extra day to take my belongings out of my totaled car, required my Dad's permission since it was registered in his name; I got him on the phone for verbal permission and they proceeded to say I must present a notarized letter from my Dad even after telling them he lived a few hours away. The entire ordeal was extremely unprofessional and a scam for more money.
This kind lady told me that I would be able to return form the secretary of state (I left at 2:00) and would be able to pick up my vehicale. Now there is no problem with that what I have a problem with is the fact that the sign on the outside door says 8:00am until 7:00pm Mon-Friday. I did not know that they were closed until I drove all the way back up to the store. I then was told by the night service man that they do not open until 8:00 am until 5:00pm. When I arrived at 8:00 am the gentlemen told me that they would not be here until 8:30 am even though they are scheduled to open at 8:00am.
Awful experience , customer service gave me a hard time and would not work with me to get my car released in a timely fashion. I literally had to stand for 5 minutes and stare at the receptionist as she purposely ignored me sitting on her phone before heading over. Unnecessarily rude and just an overall terrible place to deal with . What should have taken 10 minutes lasted for 2-3 hours
