I used to love this place, but recently I've had nothing but problems, with multiple vehicles, on multiple visits. Last visit, and I still have no answer as to what is wrong with my vehicle, and the power steering no longer works upon return. Very disappointing

I highly recommend Lake Michigan Auto Parts. We recently moved to Grand Haven from out of state and have twice needed work done on our vehicles. They are extremely honest and thorough, both times the service has been top notch. When I had my brakes replaced, they kept and showed me all the old brakes. They even called me to tell me the rear brakes still had a little life in them and didn't necessarily need to be replaced just yet, even though I ended up having them replaced anyway.
I dropped off the same vehicle a couple days ago with a steering issue. They checked it out and called me with the diagnosis, and said the total estimate including labor was around $300 which I told them was totally fine. They had it ready to pick up the next day and told me it didn't take as long as they thought and was only $186 including labor.
In an industry where so many mechanic shops have a bad reputation for price gouging and upselling, its no wonder that this shop has been in business as long as they have. I will only be taking my vehicles to them from now on. Highly recommend you to do the same if you are in search of a new place to take yours ?.
If you're In a pinch this shop will work with you to get your car back to you as quick as possible. I've had my car towed to Lake Michigan Auto in the middle of the night on a weekend and they've looked at it the very next morning! Everyone on the lakeshore knows these guys to be the most reputable (and affordable) auto shop around.

Experience -> They gave me some very useful pointers on how to do the work.
Knowledge -> They know all about the OEM and aftermarket parts available.
Pricing -> They are competitive with any other chain or local supplier.
Customer Service -> Not only did they order the part that I needed, they brought in other parts that typically go with that repair. They did this so if my repair took unexpected turn, the other parts were on the shelf ready to go. Thankfully I didn't need them, and there was no charge for that service.

Randy, Kurt & John are the best. They always treat me with respect, talk to me in a way that I understand & never try to sell me something I don't need. A lot of people don't realize they're a full service shop. They thought they only sold parts but not true.
These guys know their stuff I don’t care if it’s a car from the 1970s 80s 90s or brand new they know what they’re doing I truly appreciate the help that they provided me and getting my car is running and keeping a running
Randy is I'm sure one of the nicest people u will ever meet my family has been going there my whole life it seems like I'm in my 30s so I have have brought Randy and Kurt some....lets say not the nicest projects never just brake pads always rotors pads calipers the works but they always fit me in and have worked with me on a payment plan now I wouldn't assume that would work in every situation my parents and family have been going there along time and i think he felt sorry for me and wanted my p.o.s. outa his lot but I told him my situation before told him I needed car could pay this today and rest in a week and left a postdated check in case something crazy happend. It stuff like that that will make me always call them first that's why I'm doing this review I'm about to call them today for some work I also should add that Kurt has been doing a major part or if not all the work on my cars since I have been driving and he is also very nice willing to help when he isn't really getting paid to I'm just saying not many guys are going to crawl under your car in a snowstorm in a tee shirt for free and tell u to do this that hit that smack this and bam now drive it home thanks Kurt check them out u will not be mad u did they always back up there work and are always the best priced

I simply wanted a windshield blade. Not only did they greet and talk to me in a friendly manner, they also put the blade on my car without me asking. Great experience!
