manager ordered the wrong rotors for me & wouldn’t return because i was over 45 days gave me an in store credit & can’t even get the rotors i need, everyone is extremely unhelpful up here down to the supervisor on the phone will definitely be using o reilly from now on!
After filling up my car with gas, I got in and discovered my battery was dead. After getting a jump, I headed to Advance Auto Parts to get my battery tested (they were recommended from the tow service that gave me the jump). As I walked in to Advance Auto Parts, an employee was walking out. As he past by, he greeted me with a friendly hello with a warm smile. The gentleman at the counter also greeted me with a friendly hello. When I asked him if he could test my battery, he didn't hesitate to help (even though it was cold outside and sleeting). He tested my battery and gave me his honest opinion that I did NOT need a new battery (which he could have easily sold me one). He informed me that if I needed any additional help, to not hesitate to return. I felt like they were welcoming and honest. I truly appreciate that in a business. I will go back if I have any additional car issues.
Incredibly rude staff, waited for 4 minutes with nobody in the store besides me standing at the counter while both employees were standing there typing on the computer. When he did finally acknowledge me he had a bad attitude and was very rude. I felt like i was imposing by trying to by parts in there store. Will not be going back.
Savannah provided amazing customer service and put my daughter’s windshield wiper blades on for her. She was knowledgable and friendly. Great experience!
Went in for a new car battery 2/18 the guys behind the counter were very helpful. As a bonus one of the guys noticed I left a connector on the core battery I brought in. Saved me a lot of frustration and time!

Stopped in kind of a hurry in need of a new battery. Doug helped test it, confirm it needed to be replaced, helped me pick a new one and installed it even though a rather difficult location in the car. Very knowledgeable and went the extra yard. Thanks again and I'll be back!!!
I spoke with the manager in the morning and asked about getting a battery installed. I told him the year, make, and model and he told me it would take 30 minutes. He assured me that as long as there were 2 employees working that they would be able to install it. I came in later that day and there were 2 employees working. I told the guy at the desk my make and model and he informed me that it would take 30 minutes and because of that, he couldn't do it. I mentioned that the manager had told me earlier in the day that they could. He said the manager doesn't know what he is talking about. I'm sure that not everyone who works there is rude like this employee, but you lost my business.
Today Doug helped me with a part warranty and he went above and beyond to help get things figured out. I always choose this advance auto over other stores in the area and today’s experience is just another great example of how they care about their customers!
My son went to oil change place and they alerted him to a broke piece in his cooling system. The oil change place called down to Advanced Auto and the guys had the parts ready when we got there, including a specialized socket we needed and coolant. When we broke a different piece they did great helping us trouble shoot and figure out what we needed. They took great care of us!
Great service and knowledgeable staff! I have had excellent service and advice from the folks at this store for many years. Nate was a great help one day last week when when he came right out and installed a new battery for us. He cleaned up all the battery connections, which was super, and even had some tips/history about our car model and vintage. Thanks for the help!
The general manager Doug Blair was rude and ignorant, he made a big deal about reward coupons that I earned. I was apparently mislead on previous visits that I could use one coupon per item on separate transactions. This manager would not stop harassing me about their coupon policy and that he could refuse to sell to me and bane me from the store. Apparently I had a bad attitude, he said. As I was leaving he ran outside and jotted down my license plate#. He escalated something out of nothing. He made a big scene and it was a real embarrassment! I’ve never been that disrespected in my life over two $5 rewards, when I spend hundreds of dollars at advanced auto. Plus he touched my cell phone with out my permission. Poor customer service!
By far the best place to get Auto parts in Grand Haven! I bought windshield wipers and the manager Doug Blair was incredibly helpful in the process. I accidentally bought the wrong sizes, had opened the packages, and Doug was able to help me out. Aside from being extremely helpful, Doug is just a good human. Thank you so much! Highly recommend this place for your Auto Part needs!
Needed a serpentine belt tensioner for our 2011 Audi A4 and nobody had one in stock or could get one delivered for days. Advance Auto Parts had it delivered to our local store the next day by 11am. Tons cheaper and quicker than the dealer, and the part fit and works great!
Had what I needed but the guy who waited on me wasn’t the friendliest. Never said hello just asked what I wanted. He did make sure I bought the correct colored headlight

Updated…. After what I perceived to be a poor customer service experience I was contacted by the store manager and am pleased with the outcome. It appears that after publicly sharing my negative experience, management came to the realization that things could have been handled differently while in the store. I am hopeful that my experience will be used to better handle these situations in the future. *I do believe that corporate needs to do better at communicating their return policy with certain items such as very expensive headlight bulbs and other electronic merchandise.
Order online and pickup in store and use a 20% off online coupon. That makes it almost as cheap as RockAuto and much faster.
**Update
Brakes are now excluded from all online discounts. I just bought auto parts from O'Reilly for the first time ever. Really disappointed with this change.
They are always good, always helpful and quick to help out. They consistently have the hard to find parts at a great price. The location is busy, always, but the store is never too busy. Thanks.

I was so grateful to these guys! I was getting my oil changed when the guys noticed that my battery caps were missing. My dad had been rehabbing my battery and hadn’t tightened them down enough. They called over and Advanced was able to get me what I needed to prevent me from having a serious issue with my battery. They were so helpful and went out of their way for no other reason than to help me out. So grateful. Will definitely give them my business in the future!
My boyfriend and I stopped here a little while ago and can’t say thank you enough to the kind young gentleman who was working and helped us fix a problem with our sprinter van. He saved the day especially because we had a load in the van that we were hauling down to Indiana and didn’t know for sure how to fix the problem on our own. I would definitely recommend that others come here as well! I know that we’ll be back again to buy parts or if we have certain vehicle questions because we know that the great staff here will help us as much as they can. Haf an issue with my battery. I brought it in and they tested it... If my car was running I could have bought it in and they would have changed it for me.
I also bought some car wash that I can't wait to try. One of the employees recommend and works awesome and smells like delicious. Looks like the sent is honeydew. Can't wait to try
Stopped in for a rear window wiper replacement. Dale W not only found it but offered to install it because "these things are pretty tricky." So in arctic temps the stood out there and got 'er done for me. Rarely do you find this kind of personal, exceptional service Dale is my man, and Advance Auto Parts my store.
The people are great. They will get you what you need and help you save money where they can. Free battery installation, wiper installation, check engine light scans, battery/alternator tests, the best place to go for anything automotive.
If you can't find what you need in store, let the persistent employees who are motivated to have you walking out as a happy customer find it for you. Every repair will hold different obstacles but Advance takes pride in changing the experience of every customer who walks through their doors.
