My kids love the Musical Fountain! It’s like a quaint small town version of a Las Vegas fountain show. I believe it is programmed by local volunteers. We loved the Taylor Swift show, among others.
The Grand Haven Musical Fountain never gets old! I’ve lived in Grand Haven my whole life, and even after all these years I still love going to see the show. It’s something truly special about this town—music, lights, and water all perfectly synced together. Our kids are just as mesmerized as we are, and it’s become a family favorite every summer. Whether it’s your first time or your hundredth, it’s always magical. Highly recommend to anyone visiting or living nearby!
The kids never tire of the fountain light show, with fresh music and a crowd full of pure joy to enjoy it with, this a must see if you're in the area in the summer. It's a wonderful time, no matter your age.
The fountain and audio in on a big hill on the other side of the river. I saw it years ago, it was street level in a park like setting with people watching from all sides. I wasn't a fan of the Christmas Music in July on the eve of the Coastguard Festival. Sorry, maybe just disappointed because it wasn't like my childhood memory. Still it was nice, especially for a free event.
My mom said we were going to see the ‘singing fountain.’ I imagined beauty. Elegance. Maybe even magic. Instead, I got hit by more water than Niagara Falls. The wind changed direction mid‑song and suddenly I was drenched head to toe like I’d been baptized against my will. My shoes squished for hours. My phone almost drowned. The fountain doesn’t sing; it screams as it soaks innocent bystanders. Meanwhile, my mom is clapping like it’s Broadway while I’m just praying for towels. Three star — unless you’re into accidental waterboarding disguised as family entertainment
It wasn't as spectacular as all the hype. The music was very outdated, mostly from the 70s. We stayed for 2 songs and left. Might be interesting to see if you happen to be there but not worth traveling to see it.
What an awesome and unique attraction that has such a long history with Grand Haven. We enjoyed a day at the pier, drinks, and live music in the quaint social district, followed by an excellent display of music, water, and lights. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to enjoy a day in Grand Haven. We drove 2+ hours, and it was totally worth it!
I loved this as a kid & now I bring My kids. I just love the atmosphere. It's something You have to experience in person. Pictures don't do it justice. It feels like magic!
Such a pretty place to visit. My first time to Grand Haven, and Michigan! Had a great time. Beautiful area. Wonderful little shops to get some souvenirs. And the light water show we only caught a glimpse of but it was pretty. We were there the weekend before the Coast Guard Festival. And from pictures I saw, it looked like a good time. Definitely on my list to visit again!
Pretty cool that this place exists and the events they host. With the new amphitheatre on the front, the marina and pier, these fountains and the fireworks display make this area one of the best to be in the entire state of Michigan.
Loved this! A great perk in the amazing town of Grand Haven. Until the Belagio opened their musical water show set to music, the one in Grand Haven was the largest. It's so nice to sit outside after a long day and relax while watching this great free show!
Met family here in Grand Haven. They said how great this attraction was. It did not disappoint. We have been to the bellagio in Vegas., and seeing these fountains did not disappoint. Would recommend it to any family. Also, there is a fantastic frozen yogurt place across the street .
Show started at exactly 2210, the coloured fountains are actually located on the opposite side of the river from the terraced viewing area. We visited on a weekday in mid July and it wasn’t too busy. Best thing about is that it’s FREE! There was also plenty of free parking across the street and there are also restrooms behind the viewing area.
Spent the 4th of July in Grand Haven with my family. Grand Haven itself is a bustling, beautiful beach town with excellent shopping and dining available... Busy place, but still feels lazy when sitting and feeling the breeze off Lake Michigan. The fountain and light show was excellent, with no expense spared on the fireworks that followed. If you find yourself in SW Michigan, be sure to stroll around Grand Haven!
This was my first year seeing this extraordinary display of water, lights, and music! The fireworks were exceptionally the best I've ever seen, ever. And I've seen my fair share over the years. The town is exquisite, of which I spent hours exploring before the sweet treat of our America's Independence. I will definitely be back next year. And so should you.
Fountain show begins around 10 pm when it gets dark. Great place to watch from across the river. Boats stopping in the river in front of the viewing area was distracting but the show was very enjoyable. Great family atmosphere. And the ice cream at Temptations was awesome!
This was a great experience our family love it!! I would recommend this if your in the area!! A young lady was givi g away balloons to kids. She also danced and sang on the stage to the fountain it was awesome.

Great way to top off the night after taking in a nice picturesque sunset ?. I haven’t seen the musical water show in a very long time, so it was definitely nice to see again. I just have to bring insect repellent next time for the mosquitoes ? who love me so much. Please donate to keep this going. ?
Lovely and gentle fountain attraction in Grand Haven. As UK visitors, we attended on Memorial day, by pure chance. The evening was lovely, patriotic and enjoyably American, but it amused me no end that while the crowd were wowed by the lit squirty water, I was in awe of a simultaneous direct fly by of ISS doing 17500 mph , 250 miles up.... Go figure, as they say in these parts.
I'm an Indian visited Michigan with relatives and felt like very happy and Lake Michigan is worth visiting. I recommend every foreign national to visit this place inevitably. This place is perfect for swimming and to witness musical ? ⛲ fountain at night.
Absolutely LOVE ❤️ the Musical Fountains. Love watching the boats pass by, love the music, the location so close to nice stores, ice cream shops, clean restrooms! The show started at 10 p.m. Time changes ... must be dark before it starts. Look forward to seeing this every year!!!
Forth of July is now a memory but so needed during the winter months. July will be back soon. This is such a great family fun to watch the musical fountains. Will definitely visit again.
Great show to watch. Every night at 930 pm. Well worth staying out for. Diverse music something for everyone, pop, big band, country, and more. The colors and synchronized water fountains are entertaining to watch. Look forward to seeing some of special shows later. Will be back for more. A MUST SEE...
Very disappointed!! I went to watch the boat races and there was no provided seating so everyone was on a flat ground trying to see boats in the water. It was atrocious, if there had been just a few bleachers or something then I could see what was happening but instead all I could see were people and the boats that were on display waiting to race. I don't want to make a big fuss about this FREE event because it's cool to have free events but honestly I'd rather pay 5 dollars and have seating so that I can see what is happening. Sounds really awesome but didnt get to see anything. Even with seats right next to the other race contests still could not see the races (see photos).
