In April 2025, I purchased a 2019 Subaru outback from parkdale auto. This was my first time buying a reliable car on my own as a full time university student, and I needed something dependable to get me to and from school. Unfortunately, less than a year later the engine broke In a way that should never happen.
A loose screw from the intake manifold runner fell into the engine and completely destroyed it. That doesn’t just “happen” the only way something like that would’ve happened is if there was an improper installation or manufacturing issue. I requested a full invoice of the work they did on the car before I bought it, I seen they had done major engine work. It appears they removed and reinstalled engine components and maybe failed to tighten 2 screws. If that’s the case that costed me an entire engine.
Don’t worry it gets worse….
They also fixed the valve cover, yet it still had oil leaking from it. That just shows how bad their work is. I brought it in because of an oil leak and they told me there wasn’t one, then brought it to 2 other shops and there was indeed an oil leak. Before I purchased the car Anna was showing me the carfax and mentioned the one and only owner had no major work done on it. And why was that? Because parkdale auto did it all, which they failed to mention to me. I don’t know about them but I would want to know if the car I was about to buy had significant engine work done on it.
This entire experience has been stressful, expensive, and disappointing. Transparency matters. Honestly matters. That’s why parkdale auto does horrible business.
If you choose to buy a car from them, protect yourself and buy a warranty regardless of the cars year, because based on my experience you cannot rely on their word or repairs.

Needed new tires. Shopped around so I ordered tires from a reputable online dealer. They shipped it straight to Parkdale Auto and were installed the very next day. I opted for their road force balancer. Absolutely great job. Thanks Parkdale Auto and their team!
Alex and his team is great to work with. I am out of state but own a car nearby their shop. They were able to assess and relay the information to me clearly and then performed the work. I will be back, for sure.
Parkdale Automotive was able to get my Chrysler in to have the issue diagnosed the very next morning after it broke down. I was blessed they had an available Loaner vehicle for me before looking at my car. Even though I had to have the car fixed at another establishment, due to it being a warranty part, I will always recommend Tyler & his crew at Parkdale Automotive.
My 4WD wasn't engaging, I had it to two different reputable shops and despite the installation of front & rear actuators, it still wasn't working. After spending $1500 on parts and labor, I took it to Parkdale Auto where they diagnosed and fixed the issue in an hour.

Send my vehicle to get looked at and they charged almost 200$(just to look at it)
Took it to Conrad’s down road did the exact same thing for free

-edited- On the second note I just stated a facts in my review could have wrote way worse how they tried to start my vehicle knowing it had no fluids and they wrote my whole information of my vehicle on here , what I paid with 🤯and situation over here doxing people in reviews because they don’t know the definition of a review they believe they can do whatever and no one can say anything it’s their fault why they get bad reviews clearly show signs of a guilty consciousness see such great hospitality huh ?!? Btw I did not bring my car in because it wouldn’t start that’s a lie I have the paper work for proof I brought it in because the heat was barely working. The vehicle ran before it was tow to this place. When it got there it didn’t start. Like I said they tried to start it knowing it didn’t have fluids. They use the excuse that they get paid 40$ /hr so they have to charge a ridiculous amount that is most time free. Coming from the cities they don’t do this bs this place is a complete scam!
Good experience! I was looking for a Repair Shop for a friend that lives some 60 miles from me. I was able to get my questions answered from their Service Writer Dakota. An alignment appointment was later made. I was pleased to know the Shop had purchased brand new alignment equipment. They sent me a computer print out before alignment and after making adjustments. They did a complimentary vehicle inspection as well. They didn’t try to upsell me and honored my request to only adjust what could be adjusted. My invoice was much less than the estimate given. Their Technician test drove the car to verify the complaint and once again after corrections were performed. My friend stated the car steers much better than it had and feels very comfortable and confident to drive, especially on wet or snow/ice covered roads. I had good communication with Dakota and would recommend this Shop. Pictured is the vintage 2000 FORD TAURUS at my Home Shop. This was a Florida car with no rust at all.

Always a great experience when I need car serviced. This time it was an unusual sound and turned out to be with the tires! No issues now. And of course their greeter Shelby came for a pet and attention and quietly toddled off.
Since my husband died 2 years ago I have had to learn what taking care of my car really means. The Parkdale staff and technicians bend over backwards to understand my concerns and solve anything that needs attention! I feel very secure knowing they are there helping me remain independent. Had 2 exhaust manifolds and 2 O2 sensors replaced on my 2015 silverado around November of 2024. At first everything was great. But in a few short months after, I started having problems again eith my exhaust. Took it into another shop and after 5hey went through it, they determined that BOTH of the exhaust manifolds that were installed, were installed improperly and not tightened down all the way. Causing me to get 2 new gaskets and replacing both sensors that were installed as well. Paid over $1200 to parkdale to originally do the job for me. I will never recommend this place to a single soul. They seem nice and competent at first, but clearly common sense falls far from the tree here. I shouldve known because I was warned by many people how awful they are. Poor quality work and high prices for the services performed. Ive had to spend another grand just to get my problem rectified. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I suggest yall do your homework before choosing to have these incompetent fools touch your vehicle. I imagine they will flag this review and remove it after reading this. Thats the kind of shop this is. My lawyer suggests suing in small claims court for the repair costs. Strongly considering it
Went in for a front end alignment. On a 2021 Ram 2500 with 37” inch tires. With a straight axle front end and the sizable tires I knew I was putting Parkdale’s knowledge and expertise to the test. Needless to say Wes (Parkdale Auto Master Mechanic) didn’t miss a beat. Ensuring not only the front end tracked straight and true but also ensuring I drove it and my expectations were met before he called the job complete.
For a pickup weighing 9,000lbs, it now drives like a vehicle half its weight. Well done Team Parkdale and thank you for always being a go to for when I need some vehicle experts and assistance. Parkdale is the only shop outside of my own garage I will trust with my 4 wheeled assets. - Thanks again!
By far the worst repair shop I have ever been to, and that is a title which I do not bestow unless you’re truly awful.
My original review was flagged and hidden by them, yes they are that type of shop.
I went in for an alignment which they had me miss work for because they weren’t willing to do it 3 hours before they closed. I thought this was odd but went anyway, I found out why- I waited in the waiting room for 6 hours!! For an alignment they told me would take at most an hour!
I waited there two hours after they closed for the day and then they charged me FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for an alignment?!
On top of this the tech they had couldn’t figure out how to align my car and replaced the upper strut to knuckle bolts with smaller bolts to get it just good enough to pass. They then kept my original bolts and when asked about this they lied to my face, assuming I knew nothing about cars.
The just-good-enough bolts caused my car to become dangerously misaligned after the first bump I hit out of the shop. Being worse than before.
In summary these people will over charge you, lie to you, and not even fix your car after making you wait all day. Not to mention the customer service was near the worst I have seen with the manager and desk people treating the customers as lesser humans.
Do not believe the hype from other reviews, this place sees you only as a dollar sign.
We had our Subaru in for struts tires brakes and alignment. Alex did a great job with a complete estimate and to approve the repairs. Their team of mechanics did quick turn around and the car drives like a new car. Much appreciated !!
While traveling something came up with our vehicle. As always, Parkdale auto has been there to get us taken care of. They are the best in the business! Attention to detail and swift action. We can’t thank them enough!
A big thank you to Dakota, and I believe Alex was the other man, for answering all of our concerns when we hit a pan on US-31, resulting in a damaged gas tank, on 7/12/25. Thank you for getting the needed parts ordered and getting our Traverse in for repairs. Being 3 hours from home without a vehicle for 9 days could have been a lot more stressful.

The team members of Parkdale Auto are awesome! Anna, our salesperson, was so kind and very patient, not to mention extremely knowledgeable, not only about the various cars but also the warranty programs. About four test drives in and an hour after her shift was officially over, Anna was writing up the paperwork. It was a one-stop shop -- everything was handled right on the spot and we were on our way with our new ride. While there, we meet Tyler, the owner, who was equally kind. We met the techs and mechanics. They have state-of-the-art equipment for diagnostics and they also offered discounted services. Their motto is that if they wouldn't spend their money to fix a problem, they wouldn't spend mine. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Be honest and fair. Good people. Good team! And it all started with Anna.
These guys were lifesavers after buying a "problem child" from Wyatt Ford! When they wouldn't help .....Parkdale Auto did ..in many ways...right away! I'm thankful for the services they offer! We arnt all in the same boat and it's always nice to be listened to and have options to have your transportation needs fixed and maintained! Thanks again fellas at Parkdale Auto!
Tyler was amazing to work with! Super quick and easy process and very professional. Waited after hours for me to get back from Traverse City and went above and beyond to make sure I got my 4Runner. If I ever need a new vehicle I will definitely be back!
