I find it weird how this location is the only one that turns off all the sales and outdoor lights 30 minutes before closing and doesn’t allow people to come in, I could see 5 to 10 mins before but a half hour before closing is unacceptable towards people’s safety, especially in a snowy icy parking lot. Update the hours so people don’t waste their time coming to your store

Prices have increased. No Teacher, Student, EMS discounts anymore. Senior and Veterans reduced to just 10% off. Manager just shrugged me off when mentioned. I understand this is a corporate decision but you’re already getting my donations for free and now you want to rob me of my discount too? Don't bite the hand that feeds you Salvo! Grace Centers of Hope will be getting all my future donations, they still reward their customers with 50% off every Wed and Sat. On a positive note: Cashiers are great and very friendly at this store.

Actual store employees are great, however the donation center employees are some of the rudest people I’ve ever encountered. Not once did they say anything nice to me. I asked if they had a cardboard box I could move my stuff to so I could keep my tote and he replied “if you didn’t want to donate your bins you should’ve brought them in boxes. We can’t touch your stuff” I then informed him I would move the stuff myself but needed to keep the totes. He almost didn’t take the stuff because of it. Then I asked for a receipt and he asked why I would need one and made me fill out the form myself of what I was donating verses him filling out the form. The workers in the donation room are extremely rude and I will not be donating any more items here again. Recommend you find somewhere else to donate your stuff.

I did call corporate cause the way that I was treated the other day sir was super rude! Act like I was stealing from a thrift store then I woulda paid whatever you wanted!! You sir are a nasty individual

Staff discouraged me from donating there and even wondered why in the world I would want a receipt. I guess its too hard to give away free stuff here……I’ll be donating elsewhere or setting it at the curb to avoid the hassle.

The staff here is oblivious to what is going on around them. They putz and chit chat no matter how many people are in line. Any other SA I go to they professional and courteous. Not here.

Love my little vacation purse I found. The store was clean and well-organized and the staff was friendly and the prices were amazing

Usually this place is fine but lately the prices have gotten out of hand. Used clothes for the same price as new. Outside of this they dont have change to break. If i purchase $60 worth of stuff you should have change to break $100

I saw some very shady things going on with the employees here. (Like a stocker handing items off to hide for another employee to purchase). Also the women that checked me out was very rude. Won’t ever be back.

First, I have never been inside! But, as far as donating things, it’s very convenient and easy! I have taken a lot of my kids toys that they don’t play with anymore and a lot of clothes! You just pull up in the back of the store and some employees will come right out and empty your car!

Why would they charge 4.99 for a dollar hot wheel car that was donated for kids wow the best he would do was 1.99 for like I said a dollar hot wheel car smh 😮 and he was the manager very rude man he definitely needs a different job

This location is smaller than some of the others nearby and has much less selection. Not mech they can do with that. But the people responsible could do more to cut down on the whole store smelling like BO.

Today will be the last day I donate to this location. The donation worker was rude from the start. Why would I give away several bags of my belongings when the person processing them is giving me an attitude? I'll find a better organization to donate to. Maybe find workers who will be kind to people.

The prices are ridiculous. I thought used items should be at a good price but not here. Examples: Dollar store wine glasses for $4. And Mason jars missing lids more expensive than Meijer. I've found this with paintings and other household goods too. I saw $60 for a plate set even.

I have been a long time shopper at this location. I'm giving stars on here for the cashier who greeted me when I walked in and was very nice. There were no carts in the store but I started looking. I noticed that the clothing on the racks is no longer organized by color. It's just hung up randomly. It's a mess. I left and won't go back for awhile. It would be way too time consuming to shop and sort through.

This is a massive store when I visited last November they had gallon size bags of jewelry that they were selling and unfortunately they didn’t have any when I went this time, but I still found some great stuff. The clothing is color coded and separated by sleeve length. There is also a section for plus size clothing. There’s a smaller selection of toys at this location and an abundance of picture frames and CDs.

This is a Vintage Resale Shop disguised as a thrift store. It's fine and organized, but it is not a place to go for people trying to make ends meet. $8 faded t-shirts?....mmmkay. I can get them for $5 crispy new.

I came in and employee was trying to buy a coat it was freezing outside, the employee and the manager were arguing about the price, the manager wanted $50 dollars for a coat because it was banana republic. The employee said can I please pay 20, it's cold outside and I only have 20. He was like no go pick a cheaper coat, at that point I piped up and said, I bet the person who donated it would've given it to her, then he gets super defensive and is making all types of excuse, I told him I didn't want to hear it. I shop around a bit and decide I've had enough of the store, pay for my stuff and the whole time he's talking trash about the employee. $50 for a coat someone probably bought on sale for half that, the salvation army only serves themselves. I'll donate to places that help people not hinder people. Everything in that store is grossly over priced anyways. They're killing their customer base.

Went to donate today and was treated very rudely. Me and my friend had come to donate stuff but due to her house renovations could only fit so much. The worker constantly kept asking “that’s it?” As if we didn’t bring enough, kept saying things were broken that I checked before bringing in due to throwing the broken parts of of the table set away. He had also asked if my friends work bag was to be donated and she had said it was her work bag and he had complained further about us having bags that weren’t being donated. Then I brought some utensils in and they were sharp so I wrapped them in some bags to prevent them from damaging stuff or hurting people and he said that we couldn’t bring trash. When I explained there were utensils in it he complained about the trash, unwrapped them and haphazardly threw the extra bags around my friends car. I will be donating the rest of my stuff to a different location or a different donation site. Absolutely ridiculous.

Every single time I've donated, which is a lot, I'm screamed at or treated like a nuisance. Yesterday, I watched the donation workers scream at every single car in line and shake their heads. Either you don't pull up far enough, or you pulled up too far, you have too much, too little, the sun is out, it's cloudy, doesn't matter because these men are NEVER nice. I have a 20+ year old SUV with a sticky latch. In the past, they complain they can't figure it out so I got out to open it and got screamed at for getting out. I was so angry, I went inside to speak to the manager. But after reading other reviews, this has been a problem for years. I'll go back one more time so I can scream back at them and then will donate elsewhere. No one deserves to be treated like that.

Charlotte is the worst employee I’ve encountered. She yelled at my friend to take our hangers off and as we were doing so, she decided to step out to smoke a cigarette. She was very rude and loud since we walked in the store. Love the clothes I got and I will for sure be praying for her. Hope she learns to be more kind.

This Salvation Army was my favorite thrift store until recently. The 2 older gentlemen that work there are extremely rude. About a month ago I went to shop and the door was open and unlocked, I started shopping and I got yelled at by one man saying “omg we are not open can’t you tell?” (I believe this man is a manager) I told him no that he was rude and walked out. Last week I went again and the male cashier was very rude telling me I need to take my clothes I was purchasing off the hangers. I was only standing in line for about 10 seconds before he called me up to the register. I informed him that I understood but I was literally in line for about 10 seconds, he then got smart with me and was very rude.

I had a customer service rep experience this past weekend and was very disappointed for this kind of service in a Salvation Army. I walked to the register and spoke she didn’t speak back her response was remove the hangers. I asked was this now policy because I’d never experienced it prior when shopping at this location. She became loud saying ma’am the line would be extremely long if we took off hanger when it’s always been my experience in retail that they do but anywho. She rang up all my items, I paid and she literally walked away once the transaction was complete and left my items on the counter never saying we have a new policy of where we don’t bag or supply them. Just rude and no customer service skills none what so ever. I returned all my items because I refuse to patronize in an establishment where I’m being treated poorly and rude. Work on your reps and train them to be professional and have development skills.

The customer service in this place has gone from bad to worse. They lie to you about the time so they can close the store quicker. They cut off lights at 7:45 opening themselves up to all kinds of liability if a customer hurts himself/herself. You can't even see the prices on the clothes due to lights being cutoff. Not once do they ask if there is something they can help you with.

The workers are extremely nice and I always find something unique here. I did however, buy an expensive chair and had to come back the next day to grab it and they sold it again. They refunded me and gave me in store credit but my heart was set on that chair. So that sucked. Otherwise if they didn't happen I would of given this store 5 stars.

This used to be one of the best locations.. Today we went in, and I am concerned as to why the gentleman at the register complained about everything, the few items we picked out.. He complained that the pricing was to low and should be higher on every item, then complained about tendering cash? Not to mention the bag I picked up had a sticker price on it and he complained it didn't have a price at all, I looked directly at the price, but it ended up missing. Then he quadrupled the price and stated this is a fancy bag, we have to charge way more. Very strange and unprofessional of a non profit organization.?

I am eating this store as four, not because the story or staff are unsatisfactory - the clothes are great and the staff was friendly and cheery. The reason for the minus-one-star is the dust. Some of the clothing had more than the usual amount of thrift-store-dust, and had many people sneezing. The selection are great, lots to find. If dust doesn't bother you and you like recycled clothing, there is good stuff to be found here.

Wonderful redo of this store 🤩 BRAVO 👏🏼 Flooring is new, Lighting is new and improved. New layout is refreshing. Thank you, proud this is my local store. I’ve been to many SA outside of my community and this is the nicest one I’ve seen and biggest but I’m sure there are other nice stores out there.

Update 05/2019: The store has bee working hard to fix everything! The store has been rearranged and a few more lights have been added. I think the store needs to work on cleanliness though. I still feel like this place is really nasty. This used to be one of my favorite salvation army’s. The last few times I have gone it looks like it has gone down hill. It is dark and dingy looking. The dressing rooms are flat out disgusting. I will continue to go to the Clinton township one. At least that one is clean and bright!
