Been coming to R & M for 14+ years since I started scrapping.. I avoided this place when the last scale operater was in place due to him being incredibly rude towards me & I witnessed him yell/ treat other customers poorly and slamming the carts around. started going & was loyal to R&S till I started getting burned (multiple times) by the girl at the scale..on my way to ace I noticed a flag outfront that said Under New Management so I figured next run id return to see if anything has changed i was relieved to see and be told the last operater is no longer here and the staff around is friendly and welcoming like before. Ive learned alot about the scrap business over the years & have a few funny stories to share from my vists here not to mention they've also worked with me in the past and done me favors, another reason why I have chosen to be loyal to this yard im by no means a big time scrapper I do it as a hobby & have a passion/love for it. Good to see things have turned around and feel welcomed be back its like home away from home.
First time has too be the rudeness person I ever met in my life. I 100% don't recommend you even go too this place and I didn't see prices high or low no clue. Don't care will not be back and don't recommend you going
I'll never go back to Monroe yard until they get rid of the plump scales attendant,he just screamed at me for five minutes at the top of his lungs for dropping a plastic bin with 13$ worth of electric cords. I felt threatened by that guy I felt like I wish I carried a gun for protection,if you go there don't drop any plastic boxes on the scale
Had a bad experience today. The guy working the scale wouldn’t take my aluminum with the thinnest wood on them. Didn’t pay me for the 100lbs of steel shred. The same place that doesn’t require you to remove the compressor outta refrigerator. I’d rather just get dirty aluminum that getting yelled at
Went there today had copper and aluminum, he weighed them together, when I questioned him about it ,he said don't worry about it, I've been doing this for 13 yrs,,I said I will just take my copper back ,his rude helper grabbed my box and dumped in another bin so I couldn't take it,they were both extremely rude,then he gave. 95 cents for my copper, should have been 1.95,after I called back and ask,won't come back here again, could of easily explained, instead chose to be confrontational
They manually put in your wait the prices the same as every other scrap yard but they're the lowest paying out of all of them I'll never go back here I've been told and seen it myself they're ripping everybody off I also brought in over 105 lb of copper I only got paid 60 lb of it I also weigh my scrap before bringing it in they need to be shut down are sued like Walmart make them pay everyone they screwed over if you really think about it they pretty much are doing the same thing Walmart did everybody
I have been coming to this recycling place for 20 + years 500 N Dixie hwy and have never been treated so poorly, the scale guy there at 145 p.m today treated me like I was a child, I wanted my brass and copper weighed separately and he ro me to just do as I was told with no explanation as to why he would not separate it, then he got belligerent with me so I reloaded my items and left the scrap yard, I will never return to this place again and if I knew who his boss was I would report him. Since when does number one copper and brass sell for the same price..
I brought in 148 lbs of clean pure yellow brass that they told me they would give me clean brass price for. It was all in one 5 gallon bucket. After tare weight they only paid me for 63. I didn't even end up selling them my copper thankfully cause they wanted to give me #3 prices for clean pure bright copper. They claimed that they couldn't tell if it was mixed with anything. If you want to go to a reputable place that pays decently go to glr ( used to be glr) on stark rd between Plymouth Rd and 96. They also have the technology that these ppl aren't able to have so they can read whatever purity of metals you have. This place is most certainly a scam. I didn't notice at first mostly because I'm used to not being scammed and was talking to one of the guys that work there. The staff was ok to deal with except the guy actually running the scale. He was rude and short responding. Would not recommend. Go to a good place it's worth the drive if you are located around this R&M place
I don't normally bother with internet reviews, but these guys rock. Took time to explain what was what and gave me a fair price. Will definitely return.
Asked for help to unload something, guy said he could do it easy. When we walked out he told me dont be mad if I break your window out that happens and I said then I don't want you to help me and he got angry about it and procceded to get in his crane, I told him not to touch the truck. I then asked another guy for help who helped me unload a large pieces carefully as yo not scratch the truck. I mentioned instead of pulling on the scales and trying to back through other peoples way I would weigh them up front and walk them back, which I've done in the past. When I did that the guy at the front was rude, he stated this was his yard and his rules, fine, so I walked them out mentioned on the way back that I had discussed to doing that, his attitude towards me was still rude and snarking so I got my receipt and as he was still arguing I told him I have no need to come back for this treatment and said good, I was a customer there for a long time and now I wont go back and I reccomend no one does
Went in today to drop off scrap metal, delt with a young man named Bob, who was very helpful and pleasant. Definitely will be going back and if you have scrap
metal, highly recommend R & M. ???
Had used them many times in the past without issue. Recently spent over a month calling to get a metal recycling dumpster without any return calls. I had spoken to one person several weeks ago who told me they would send one out. Finally spoke to another person today who told me we weren't a priority and they were deliberately not sending a dumpster and not returning our calls. I won't use a company who thinks its okay to treat customers this way. Now I'm over a month out and need to find a new company to deal with.
I went there few times and they give me the best price, Mike he is a great guy, help you with out a complaining about the scraps, no like other places!!!!!
Great service, quick and honest, I weigh all the metal before scrapping and they're always accurate. great prices on mixed grades of metals. E.G. number 1 and number 2 copper mix, yellow brass and plated brass mix. number 2 copper price for tinned hairwire copper.
