This is the only place in the Worcester area that you can use to dispose of RV waste holding tanks effluence. The facilities are really setup to handle commercial trucks, and you really have to have your shit together to use this facility. Be prepared to go full haz-mat protection, ie, gloves, close toed shoes, etc.... a barf bag may be helpful.
To me, it's totally ridiculous that this is the only pump out or dump station for RVs in the entire Worcester area. I tried calling a local campground (PineAcres in Rutland) and was quoted to use just the dump site would be $70.00.
Very disappointing experience. Been coming here for years and this past trip, the attendant that was checking slips at the end of the day was too concerned with leaving by 4 o'clock he decided that he wanted to be rude and tell me I shouldn't even have been let in the facility after 3:45 where I arrived at 3:40 even making sure I called ahead to be sure they would be there to accept my load. If this is the case than the call center should be informed as I called at 3:11 to confirm. Just because you don't want to be at work, does not mean you need to be disrespectful towards customers that are now being turned away either way at the end of the day. Enjoy this review and I hope that your attitude can be adjusted by your manager. Funny I was able to unload, get my little pay out and write this review all by 4:15. Thanks for nothing.
Edit - July 2025 Customer service has improved and was willing to attempt to use Radius after the name change. Highly recommend using them for all your scrap metal needs.
Awful company. The crusher was down so they were paying literally next to nothing. This is fine had they told me before they let me drive in, get weighed, dump the light iron only to go to the office for $9. It should have been $150ish. I mean you have to tell people they are only getting 5 cents on the dollar because your crusher is down before you let them dump. Based on the pile of steel built up, they probably did this to hundreds of people that could have easily gone down the street for market rate.
Business doesn't know their own hours. Even if you call ahead, they'll give you wrong information; not that they care, so when you get there they are closed. Not to mention the employees are useless and rude. Save your time and aggravation and go elsewhere. This place is terrible.
In case you don't know, you don't need to be a business. As a home-owner, I bring them my metal scraps from reno's. If you have questions, they'll answer.
Aluminum drive on past the scales, other metals hit the scales. Find an attendant tell them what you got and unload it for cash. Simple process. The workers I have dealt with are very nice and friendly. It does get busy here at times and it's not a place you drive your fancy vehicle to as there's a potential for popped tires.
Prices are good and the facility is pretty clean for a scrap yard. The people are far from friendly though. When I arrived the woman in the office barely said anything and provided no direction on what to do. The inspector in the yard was rude all because he had to get out of the equipment to direct people where to go.
The easiest place to go for scrap. You pull onto the scale, she weighs you, you drive off to dump your stuff. There are signs telling you where to put stuff and someone is always around to help you figure it out. You drive back to the scale, get weighed again, then go see the lady at the window to get paid. Thats it!
Schnitzer's is local on route 20 and they take everything including batteries of all types, old equipment, steel, etc. I love going there! Take your throwaways like old grills, patio umbrellas, satellite dishes, etc. and turn them into cash. Easy in, easy out, and they pay cash. My business, The Perfect Edge, does generate some brass, copper, and steel waste and it's all recycled at Schnitzer's.
