The actual work on my car seems fine so far. I had been in a minor accident. Needed a couple of doors replaced. It took them over two weeks to get it done. Meanwhile, they never once called me to communicate. I had to call them. The final time I called them, I asked why they never called. They said, "We only call when it's almost done." Then the next sentence was, "It will be done in a couple of hours." How close to the time were they waiting? How are people supposed to plan to pick up their cars and find rides? Also, for every delay they had, they blamed my insurance company. I have had the same insurance for 15 years, and it has never been the cause of a delay before. Even if they were, just take some ownership. Then I get there, and they stand behind the desk and talk for 15 minutes about another customer, saying how they were deadbeats, then they finally came over and gave me my car. Nothing in the car was put back the way it was. Floor mats were in the trunk, and I had to attach a piece back on myself. You can tell by the way the owner replies to bad reviews that he doesn't understand customer service. That's sad. I wasn't going to leave any review, but I saw the way they respond to reviews, and it made me realize this is a bigger issue. Hopefully, this helps someone not go through the same frustrations I did.

This shop was on the list of networking for Progressive. They recommended this shop to me so this is where I went to drop my car off for damage that was caused by another person The work itself came out amazing. The only downside was the discrepancy in paperwork on mileage. Did find myself inserting into what’s going on more often than I would like too, wish they would have updated me as I called for updates throughout the timeframe of work. Again, the work was done beautifully at the end of the day. Just be sure to dot those “I” and cross those “t’s” as my grandparents would say.

They did a fantastic job on my repair. They were more than willing to work around my Very busy schedule and I was able to take my vehicle while we waited for a new rim to arrive so I could still tend to the things I was committed to.

They take advantage of women and over charge them. My wife went in for an oil change which is $70 for her car anywhere else but here they charged her $116

this auto body shop was incredible. So unbelievably patient and considerate in a time of need. I was on my way to college when the oil seal broke on my car and started to leak all over the road. I came to this autobody and they took me in immediately in a time of need and stayed longer after hours to help get me on my way. Very kind people - highly recommend

A personal review of Sturbridge Automotive Collision Center. On my way to work, my passenger front tire let go, causing the vehicle to come into contact with a concrete barrier. Thankfully I was able to make it off of the roadway safely. After making an assessment of all damages, my insurance company provided a list of repair shops for me to choose from. That’s when I found Sturbridge Automotive Collision Center and had my car towed there immediately. I spoke with the owner, Gabriel, who let me know I was in good hands and this was nothing out of the ordinary for him. I was so relieved to have a shop respond with same day service. Within a few weeks I received a phone call that the repairs have been completed. I could not wait to get my car back and see the outcome. When I got to my car I had noticed not only the magic they performed, but also how they detailed the inside and outside of the vehicle! Honestly it looked better than when I purchased the car. Overall I am extremely happy with the service of Sturbridge Automotive Collision Center! I definitely recommend trusting Gabe and his team to any and all in need of service. 5 stars!! Thank you Gabe!

This place does excellent work. The owner did everything he could to get the job done while jumping hopes with the insurance. My car was immaculate when I picked it up even washed and cleaned. Highly recommend this place

I brought my car to Sturbridge Automotive for a state inspection. Just before my arrival, check engine and check emissions warnings came up on the dashboard. The car would not have passed the inspection without serious repairs. Complicating the situation, my registration had expired, which normally would have prevented the mechanic from classifying it as having failed inspection. I began to envision being pulled over by police on my way home and being handed an expensive ticket! But the shop's owner came to my rescue. He dug an RMV form filed by another customer out of his file, went online to the RMV website, found and printed out a blank copy of the form for me, which allowed me to explain that the car's registration had expired while it was in another shop in Connecticut being repaired. This form bought me time to have the car fixed by my regular mechanic (sadly, it's in a perennial state of disrepair) before returning to Sturbridge Automotive where it finally passed inspection. I breathed a big sigh of relief when I saw that new sticker pasted on its windshield. Bottom line: the owner of Sturbridge Automotive went WAY out of his way to help me out of a difficult and potentially very expensive situation. I could not be more grateful and recommend him and his shop highly, without reservation. Outstanding service!!!

I was an hour from home when I blew out my tire (& as a female I had no idea how to put on the spare). I came through the door in tears and left with a big smile on my face realizing there are still kind people in this world. My front passenger side tire blew out so they put the back tire in that place and put the donut on the back (he explained to me this was the safest way to do it). Gave me great advice on what to do when I got back to my local area if the suspension was damaged. And took the time to tell me to make sure I didn’t drive over 50mph on the spare (might sound like common sense to many people but I would’ve had no idea). When everything was all set and done I asked him what I owed and he didn’t even charge me. I couldn’t believe it. As a crying female walking into an auto body shop I figured my desperation was going to be taken advantage of. But instead they helped me out when I needed most. Honest genuine guy

Do NOT go here. I recently moved to Sturbridge so I decided to take a chance on them and get my car inspected. They had my car for 32 minutes and said it would cost $700 to fix the headlights on my Toyota Camry. I had a gut feeling something wasn't right, so I went to a different shop and they said nothing was wrong with my lights at all, and that I avoided a scam. The head guy is extremely in your face, talks a lot so you can't get a word in, and tries to confuse you so you just pay whatever he says. I'm sure he'll comment on this with something inappropriate. Bottom line, go somewhere else!

I was warned about going to this place I did not heed that warning. Everything I was warned about happened on my visit. Strongly recommend to anyone find a different service location. The dealership I had no issues getting a sticker because the work light function there is no directionals in my mirrors yet this location demands that there is beware these guys are a total rip offs just trying to take advantage of people and add on prices for repairs that are not needed.. I even have it in writing from the dealership and a copy of my complaint that was filed with the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles Inspection Division. Everything the owners saying below is a actual lie This truck does not have turn signals on the mirrors - In writing and verified by registry of motor vehicles oh no.....

Walked in, no one at desk, dude walked out to speak to a customer already there, didn’t say “hello”, “how can I help you”, “could you wait one second”, or otherwise address me at all. Waited a few more minutes then left. Customer service and first impressions are everything, and this one was abysmal. You’re never too busy to say hello, particularly when you’re walking by me. They probably do stellar work, but I’ll never know it.

My daughter went in for them to look at a repair. The person she dealt with was nasty and argumentative. Take your business elsewhere. Horrible experience. There was no fraud attempt. Look at the owners response to all of the bad reviews. It’s typical. He just starts accusing the very if fraud. My daughter was told by the insurance company to use auto shop in Massachusetts and not Connecticut. So she went there because it is “preferred”. The owner got nasty and verbally abused her. Just a nasty individual.

After a little over a month, I got my car back. It took so long due to parts being backordered which is totally understandable. I would suggest keeping clients/ customers updated on the status of the vehicle if the project took so long, rather than having to call and ask about it, which is what happened on my end. Other than lack of communication, Gabriel and his crew did an awesome job replacing my sunroof and detailing my car. It was super clean and loved that they were able to wash off tree sap that would not come off for months. I would let them work on my car again. Staff and Gabriel were friendly and professional. Also, since I did not have any rental coverage included in my insurance, they took it upon themselves and contacted Enterprise and gave me a nice discount for my rental. Thank you Sturbridge Automotive!

As an industry professional(insurance appraiser) there’s two things that are always abundantly clear when it comes to shops; quality of workmanship, and quality of customer service. On both accounts Gabe and the boys hit it out of the park. My company vehicle required some minor repairs recently. Work was done right and quickly. What more can you ask for?

From leaving buff marks during detailing to taking 1/2 hour to inspect a 1964 collector car, this place is terrible!!! Not enough room to list the amount of incompetence!! Strongly suggest you stay away. Never mentioned it failing? Those of you in the know understand the time I listed above, those who don't well best of luck to you. FYI - they take your $$ before the inspection or even looking at car. Added picture of this very "DANGEROUS" car :)

I got in a car accident when driving in Mass my van had to be towed at the scene. Being from out of state I had NO CLUE where to have my van fixed. After looking into MANY places (in and around Sturbridge) I came across Sturbridge Collision. I dont even have words for how professional, informative and genuine everyone here was. If your looking for someone honest, reliable and efficient to get the work do these are YOUR PEOPLE!!! It gets better...they even vacuumed and washed my car!!! Thank u so so much for everything one of the BEST customer service experiences in Mass I have ever had.

I would not come back to this place if they paid me to let them do a free repair. First of all, keep your business professional. Customers do not want you listen to you jam your political views down their throats and listen to you complain about whats on the news. Its amazing that someone even has to say this. Also, it doesn’t look well when your mechanics are alarmists and condescending. I find it very interesting that while your auto body shop would say a car is a danger to the road, other mechanics see little to no issue when getting a second and third opinion.

After more than 3 years bringing our family vehicles here I can't help but feel ripped off by Gabe and crew. We took my husband's 2013 GMC Terrain with 80k miles here after it was having some issues bucking and couldn't pass inspection because of the check engine light. We were told by several experts it's possibly the transmission or O2 sensors so we asked Gabe who we trusted to diagnose what was going on and what our options were. After several weeks and several phone calls trying to get an update from him he confirmed we needed a new transmission. He gave us our 3 options and we picked one and said go ahead and complete the work. Weeks later we called several more times for updates. It was still on the list to get done we were told and took another week. Then he let us know we should replace the serpentine belt and another pipe costing us an additional $500 for the original quoted job, but we knew we needed to pass inspection and trusted his advise and said to do it. Now spending over $3000 we go in to pickup the car (FINALLYYYYY) and he warns my husband to keep an eye on the check engine light. WTF??? He said hopefully it wouldn't come on but if it does, it's most likely an O2 sensor. We pull off after paying and not even TWO MINUTES LATER the check engine light came on!!! My husband went right back the next day with codes from AutoZone to be sure we were on the same page and yup, they're saying O2 sensor and possibly spark plugs. Gabe tells my husband he can't do the job until at least next week. WTF??? We have a time limit to get the failed inspection reinspected for no cost and he already had the car for well over a month not to mention how suspicious his warning was about a possible check engine light coming on when we leave. He was very busy so my husband calls back later to ask what it'll cost and he says he'll have to get back to us. Meanwhile we call 2 other local places while we wait to get prices. Gabe doesn't call until the next day and guess what? He wants to charge us SIGNIFICANTLY MORE than the other places after all of the time and money we just spent there!! ??? Super unprofessional and can't help but feel very ripped off. Wouldn't use them again. Learned our lesson. Thank you for nothing..

Stopped here to get my work van inspected. Called ahead and spoke to Laura at the desk, super nice, asked her if they had time to fit me in this afternoon. They fit me right in, took my van right away, inspected it in a very timely fashion, and I was on my way. Fast, Professional, and Honest. Very comfortable waiting room, tv, coffee, and water, bathroom available as well.

My car was backed into at work recently at work by a sanding truck, I called Sturbridge collision center, and recieved an immediate response.owner asked if I had my claim numbers, to which I did and he pretty much took care of everything insurance wise from there. Now for my car , I can not say ENOUGH about and thank Gabe, and his crew for a job so well done! My car looks brand new ! Once again , Thank you Gabe , and your crew!

Five star service all around! The owner is honest about what your car needs and explains everything in detail - he even provides before and after pictures. I brought my jetta here numerous times over the years and the owner was honest about whether additional services or a new car made sense. If you're looking for a trustworthy mechanic, this is your spot!

Great Place to take your car. I spotted in for an inspection and they discovered that there was a problem with the front left suspension of my car. Gave them my mustang for one day, and they stayed open after hours to make sure it would be done in that one day. It was fairly cheap and had great customer service. Definitely recommend them to others! It's been 2 years since I first posted about this place and it is still the best automotive place I have been to. Fantastic customer service, quick turn around times for repairs, and great work that I can trust.

If I could've given more stars I would. This place is the best, hands down. I needed some rear bumper work done after I got backed into, and I'm glad I chose to bring my car here. Repairs were immaculate, fast, professional, and they do a really great job cleaning my car when they were done. Estimate was spot on, and I couldn't be happier. They even buffed out a paint mark on my car that wasn't part of my claim. Will definitely go here again, and recommend you do too.

My mom has come her twice to have her car repaired (once due to an accident and once due to a leaky sunroof) and she received excellent service! They listened to her concerns and didn't try to sell her extra services (as we have encountered as women at an auto body shop). There prices are very reasonable and her car was so clean it was like new when she picked up. We will both be coming here again for routine maintenance as well as any auto body work that needs to be done!

I was visiting Sturbridge, MA and found my check engine on. Stopped by and got a great service. They gave me an estimate and said that the car will be fine for a long drive home. It gave me a peace of mind since I was driving with kids. Mechanic at home said the car can wait for the repair till my next visit to MA, I will ask Sturbridge Automotive to repair my car. Very nice people, honest, knowledgeable, clean office, people seem to enjoy their work.

I have had, by far, the worst experience with Gabe at Sturbridge Auto. Over the course of the last month I have taken my car to Gabe on 3 separate occasions to have my a/c fixed. The first time I went to the shop Gabe advised that he could look at my car if I was there prior to 5PM. I left work early and lost time but arrived at the shop at 415. At that time, Gabe stated he didn't have time to look at my car. I brought my car in the following week. Gabe had the car for 2 hours and stated my ac compressor 'looked good' but the condenser was dented and needed replacing. He quoted the price of $400 to fix the condenser. I brought the car back the following Sat to be repaired. After 3 hours at the shop I called to get a completion time. During that call Gabe stated that the condenser had been replaced but now the compressor was not working. I let Gabe know that I didn't want to spend too much money on the ac. He said that I would pay $400 that Sat and he would replace the compressor with a used part for $150 the following Fri. With witnesses to the conversation Gabe confirmed an absolute quoted price of no more than $150 for the additional part and labor. I let Gabe know that if the price was more than $150 I wanted my old condenser back and my money back. He confirmed again that it would be $150 and I would leave the next week with working ac. Three days after our conversation Gabe called and stated that he couldn't get a used part and that I would need to buy a new unit for $525 not including tax. After being quoted a total price of $550 he is now trying to charge me over $1000. I spoke with another local mechanic and he stated that it's not possible for the part to only work during the 2 hours that he diagnosed the problem. The part never worked and I was taken advantage of. Gabe tried backtracking stating that he gave estimates,...again I had a witness to the conversation speaking about quotes as an absolute price...not a range. This man is a horrible business person taking advantage of women. He blantantly lied and renigged on an agreement. He is attempting to bait and switch. I will never do business with Sturbridge Auto and I suggest that everyone do the same.
