Best kept secret in Capitol Heights, MD. I've lived in the area for a while and travel quite a bit. Every time I need auto repair for one of my vehicles I take it to Hampton Park Auto Repair. They do great work. I stopped taking my vehicles to the dealership years ago.
My friend chose this place because of the high reviews. Their experience has been the complete opposite. They brought their car here almost a month ago. No updates were given unless they called. Several times they were told it’s being worked on. But still nothing has changed. They had the car towed there and can’t afford to move it again. Otherwise they would have taken the car elsewhere. At this point it seems like their car is being held hostage. There is no urgency to complete the repair. I would love for the owner to reach out regarding this matter. As my friend is worried that saying anything about their issue will cause them to become upset.
Amazing customer service and professionalism. I contacted him, and within the hour I was able to get my brakes done. Quick and easy, great price too. I will be back!
I chose this shop based on the positive reviews and appreciated the consensus of respect the community gave to Mr. Herman’s Shop, as the negative reviews seemed to be pretty petty to me.
I called and scheduled for an oil change and received a time window the same day to bring it in, and the process was seamless.
Like many of the reviews state, Mr. Herman is a trustworthy guy, as I didn’t even know what type of oil my car took and from his experience he recommended the best one for my car. So far it’s been running very well!
A first Impression is a lasting one, I plan to bring my car back for regular maintenance as long as the shop welcomes me.
For those considering Hampton Park Auto Body & Repair. This isn’t a dealership or a large shop. The owner is very hands on with the vehicles coming in and out. As long as you exercise patience and flexibility you’ll be very pleased with Mr. Herman’s work.
My experience went from 5 stars to 1 quickly. I called Hampton Park Auto Body & Repair when they opened, Tuesday, July 1st., and spoke with Herman. I had brakes and rotors to be installed on my truck, but my "go-to" mechanic was unavailable and I was headed out of town. I explained to Herman what I needed, and he quoted me a price I considered reasonable. I told him that I would let him know when I was headed to his shop.
When I called back and informed Herman that I was on my way, I reconfirmed the price I had been quoted; once I arrived, and before I completed any paperwork, I made sure of the price a third time.
You can imagine my surprise when I was charged 30 dollars more than the agreed upon price. I brought this to Herman's attention, and he offered to refund me via an oil change. I rejected his offer, and demanded that my money be returned to me; ultimately, it was.
Any patrons considering using Hampton Park Auto Body & Repair should prepare themselves to be told one price, charged another, and demand a refund for the overage.
I just left Hampton Park Auto for a wheel bearing replacement and Mr. Herman was not only honest and fair, he was efficient. As women, we're typically taken advantage of when it comes to car repairs but this was NOT the case. Very grateful for his services.

Herman provided excellent service I feel as though he is fair and tell you exactly what's wrong with your vehicle without trying to get over on you... Great place to get your vehicle repaired
The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and honest! It means a lot to have a go to auto place where I get great service, see smiling faces and repair done right the first time. I highly recommend Herman and his team.
If I was able to give zero stars, that would be my choice. If you are a woman or identify as a woman, you can forget doing any type of car service at Hampton. I will provide a very short and concise review as this is way more than I would have ever expected from a mechanic. After retrieving my car from Hampton, Herman could not provide any invoices to show proof of what he purchased nor the work that he “completed” when asked by me and my insurance company. I drove from MD to FL on a botched job that Herman completed. My vehicle had impact on the right side. Herman placed junkyard parts on my vehicle and stated that the parts were “certified, after market” which was a lie. Out of the many parts that was needed to fix my vehicle, only two out of the parts that were actually new. Everything else was from the junkyard. Additionally, the left tire on my car was completely loose which I was not made aware of until I had my car inspected at the dealership. It was by the grace of God that I made it to Florida safely. I advise you now, if you need any work done, take your car to the dealership or to a mechanic that you fully trust and know. Do not bother to complete any service with this shop as Herman is dishonest and has a lack of integrity.
Website includes a full page with details on the Maryland State Inspection service that they provide; however, when you call to schedule you learn they do NOT perform this service and "have no idea how that got there..." ummmmmm...ok...
I tried 3 different times with these guys they can’t handle putting on a battery bracket holder, it’s really sad you can give them your car and they’ll give it back to in worse condition
A true and honest mechanic. His team has always been professional and works in a timely fashion. I have never been over charged and their work speaks for itself.
I have 2007 BMW 525I. I had a coolant leak and they fixed it with no issues. A very good job and very professional. I will go to them for future repairs when needed.
Wow, a dime stuck in my seat belt, the dealer told me it would cost $360. In Hampton Park Auto Body & Repairs, they plug it out within a minute for free, I told them upfront about the dealers charge, still did it for free, did not even look at my face. I am still in surprise meeting real action heroes.

They guess they did a good job flushing the radiator which is what I requested, but they could've just changed it and not flushed it. I didnt see what they really did, so they could've done anything. That was on April 7, 2020., which was 5 days ago. I only say this to tell you that while changing my windshield wipers just noticed a dent in my hood on the driver's side, so if they did this and didnt tell me then why should I assume that they actually did a flush on my radiator and not just changed the fluid. Now I have a dent on my hood that wasn't there before.
I have gone here on a few occasions for quick fix issues, such as, tire inflation, oil change and removal of a nail in the tire. I did not have an appointment on either occasion and they welcomed me anyway. The attendants were really nice and courteous. They joked with me and completed the work without my having to wait a long time. I will definitely go again.
I was in a hit & run accident and had a fender bender and was so upset about my baby looking that way, But Mr. Herman got him back looking brand spanking new!! I am going to refer everybody to come to him & I am also about to make this my go to shop for everything.. Good service, Affordable prices, Good Work,HONEST mechanic etc IM SOLD

Q&R. you have got to take your cars here for repair. Not the auto place next door, I don't know about them. For a dirty auto shop the ladies bathroom is great. I am finicky when it comes to using public bathrooms but this I gave an A plus. Now for the work. the work that they did on my car I was totally and completely satisfied the price that they charge for the price that I paid was great the mannerism and the attitudes and and the customer service that I received was fabulous I just can't say enough about these two guys go there
They do really good work and are reasonably priced. I've visited this establishment a couple of times. *Calling ahead to make an appointment is recommended*
I was not sattisfied! Customer service sucks. I don't know if it was because I am a female, but the first time i was here I did't feel welcome. The manager has no compassion what so ever. NEVER explained anything to me. My car was there on October 3rd and was supposed to be fixed after the check engine light came on. Tuesday is just stopped driving. The check engine light and the ESC light came on. Got it towed to this shop that night, wasn't even looked at until 3:30 on Wed. wasn't "fixed until the Thursday. He never spoke to me about anything just my boyfriend. RUDE. Friday while driving, my car stops in the middle of traffic on the damn beltway. I text the manager and showed him a pic of the check engine light. I stated he didn't fix the issue and I was almost hit trying to pull over to the emergency shoulder. After 30 min his reply was " MY SCANNER DIDN'T PICK UP ANYTHING, YOU NEED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER! That was it. no compassion, no apologies, nothing. Not only did I waste a day out of work, I was stuck on the side of the road late for work and stressed nothing left to do but cry. HOW DO YOU TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS? I tried to file a complaint with the BBB but for some reason this business would not come up. So this is all I can do, my story will get out. MESSED WITH THE WRONG ONE!
towed vehicle to the shop told them what was wrong and they say it had no spark. replaced distributor. asked to fix timing belt and water pump. done. upon picking up vehicle. timing belt was whining. and car did not start back up once cut off. (mind you i work on cars) Asked why didnt it start. "oh it needs a new ignition...guess we misunderstood eachother. All my car really needed was a clutch pedal groumet.
dont trust these ppl. not doing there job properly
