Can't express how lucky we are to have a truly dependable and trustworthy mechanics in our neighborhood. Anytime someone is broken down on the side of the road it is a horrific experience. On this particular occasion I had the back of my truck full of meat that was just purchased and on its way to church for donations. Unfortunately (1st time) my dependable Dodge truck that has never failed me in 21 years. Serpentine belt busted as a result of the air condition condenser locking up.
With one phone call to Portis Car Care, with Hunter on the phone handled the situation very efficiently and professionally. Which resulted in Dave getting on the phone with me within a minute. Tow truck was arranged and my truck was in their shop in no time and myself along with all cargo was safely transported home.
It was a true and valent team effort by Portis and was executed flawlessly.
What was even more impressive after a long list of items that needed to be repaired. As a result of me procrastinating. Dave and his team at Porter's Car Care repaired and restored my truck back to me well before my expectations. Even as I explained I only use the truck as a secondary vehicle and no need to rush. I think the time they had my vehicle was well more than reasonable and after picking up my vehicle it was driving it as if it was almost new. I greatly appreciate Porter's Car Care and can't thank them enough for they have done. What could have been a total tragedy turned into not much harm at all and the best part was the church got there their donations and none of the meet even came close to spoiling. Thanks to the quick response, dedication and keeping the highest standards and tradition of Superior Service in the Auto repair industry by Portis Car Care. Service that is just not found anywhere else today.

It's a very welcome and friendly local garage atmosphere. The mechanics are really to notch! They've sorted out some issues i was having with my truck that stumped other shops. Their rates are not only competitive, but VERY reasonable.

I found Portas while searching for mechanics online, and I have to say, this is the most honest and reliable repair shop I have encountered. Since finding them, I haven’t took my vehicle anywhere else. As a woman, visiting the mechanic is extremely nerve wrecking, however they never once took advantage of me, or belittled me due to my lack of knowledge regarding cars. 10/10 would definitely recommend to everyone, especially women!!
We had our car towed to Portas after seeing positive Google reviews on a Friday and quickly began to regret it.
First, we asked for an estimate and heard nothing back for over 5 hours. Upon calling in, we found that not only had they ordered parts already, but the part ordered "didn't look right," so we would have to wait over the weekend before getting the car back. While it was inconvenient to clear our weekend plans, we could understand that part.
But then we get the car with an AC Delco (not OEM) ignition module and we were charged for, not one, but for the cost of over two OEM parts if purchased straight from the dealership. On top of that, we were charged $165 for work and diagnostics. That is just rediculous.
The work put in, on the high end, in the cleanest and with the most reputable technicians costs $400. TOPS! Not $650.
I would advise you to not bring your business to Porta's auto care. They are just another untrustworthy auto shop.
Had my car in for routine maintenance & to have a tire repaired. Dave got me in & out quickly! It's always a pleasure, Porta's Total Car Care staff are the best! It's so reassuring to have mechanics that you feel at ease with & trust. You'll never pay for anything you don't need. My family has had our vehicles serviced at Porta's for many, many years. We've never been disappointed!

Today Porta’s completed transmission and differential service on my 2017 Ridgeline. It was completed on time at a reasonable price. The Porta’s Car Care team are professional and courteous. A few months ago they replace all my brakes on the same vehicle. I would strongly recommend them to work on your vehicle. Forget the dealership and drive to Porta’s.

Porta’s car care was highly recommended and provided excellent & reputable customer service. My brakes were pulsating & Porta’s provided an honest assessment for resolution. Moreover, Porta’s provided excellent workmanship/craftsmanship which is very difficult to find today for automotive repair and/or maintenance. Portas has taken care of my mother's cars for years. Always fair always honest. I took my old truck to them for diagnosis, I thought it was a head gasket and even though they knew they would t do the repair work they gave me an honest diagnosis and price.
We have been using portas for years. They are not in the business to take advantage of people and always give us a fair estimate on the work that needs to be done on our vehicle. We will continue to take our cars to portas for any repairs.

My older car broke down on the way home from a camping trip in Upper Falls, Maryland. At the suggestion of a good friend, I had it towed to Portas Total Car Care. Not only did they bring my car in for diagnosis quickly, fearing that I was stranded in Maryland, when it turned out that it made more sense for us to have the car towed home where family could make the extensive repairs at lower cost, Portas was completely supportive and refused to charge us for the diagnostics they had to run.
It’s so rare in this day and age to get the kind of service people could count on decades ago. Portas really cares about their customers. I highly recommend this shop. In a world that is so leery of mechanics it is wonderful to find one that is so obviously trustworthy.
I had a noise issue with the front end of my vehicle. Called on a Monday and they scheduled the appointment for the next day. They had the car for 2 hours and they called me with the diagnosis. Repairs made and the vehicle was picked up by 4 pm. Repair cost was very reasonable. Excellent service. Thanks ?

I've been going here for years, and will continue to bring my vehicles to them as long as they're in business. Honest and dependable, with fair prices and good work. No matter how weird the problem is (and I've brought a Chevy Cobalt to them with some really goofy, intermittent issues), they don't just throw random parts at it, hoping it fixes the problem and charging you a fortune in the meantime for parts you didn't need and didn't help; they keep digging until they find the root cause and are sure what the fix will be. I 100% trust them with everything from my Ford Raptor to my Chevy Cobalt. I can't speak highly enough of Portas Car Care.
I have been bringing my car to Porta's for a long time and they have been great. When other places said I needed to have expensive work done I would take it to Porta's for an estimate and they would tell me I didn't need to have that work done. These people are honest and are very nice to deal with and the price is reasonable.

I have been taking my present, past and family vehicles to Porta's for at least 20 years. Their customer service, diagnosis, honesty, quality of service and repair, timeliness, and price is impeccable. They truly are dedicated to the auto repair industry. I have heard many horror stories over the past years from people who have been railroaded into repairs and extras by other shops and dealers. I have always placed a Porta's business card in their hand with a excellent recommendation and many of them are now loyal customers.
