Went to Marden to buy carpeting for the 5th time. What used to be a good price & good service is now NOT!! After purchasing carpet they insisted on a measure @ 35$ for 2 square rooms??. Ok i can deal with. 2nd they called me to say they forgot to add travel Charge to Saco. A travel fee to go to Saco?? Not cool. Then they called me to say they forgot to add removal of old carpet, which was brought up several times. So after adding $250 to their original price, not cool, they canceled install the day of delivery & install. The price went up 18% since original price was quoted after the fact. Not cool! I will be shopping other places next time. I feel like canceling my order, however my furniture is all moved, after paying someone to do that also. Shop elsewhere for your flooring. Mardens is no longer a deal, its been a headache & leaving a bad taste!!

I was looking for fabric and I was very impressed with the selection and the great prices! The staff at the cut table were wonderful and very helpful!! I'll definitely be shopping here often ?
The staff is wonderful to work with, extremely helpful and patient. I needed to buy a recliner for my Mom who moved into a nursing home. Not only helpful loading and unloading(when the first one didn’t work for her), but very kind. In addition to the manager being helpful, Jim Willette went above and beyond to help me find something for my Mom.
Very cramped and disorganized. The staff there are very nice and helpful in finding what you would like.
Since it's a discount store, repeated visits are needed to really scope products out that they get in.
The variety of this store is SO exciting to walk into because you never know what treasures you'll find! Expect nothing and find something awesome everytime.
Complete and utter chaos! They have multiple aisles of way overpriced Amazon Returns randomly all over shelves with no rhyme or reason. The rest of the store is incredibly dirty and unorganized. If you're shopping for closeout goods, I'd recommend going to Ollies or Ocean State; both confidently up the road.
Spent two hours at Marden's selecting / cutting fabric for a quilt. Awesome selection and the staff were wonderful ! I live in NH, but will definitely be back to shop here .
Marden's is always a great addition to a family trip, and our first visit to the Sanford location continued that trend. As with any visit, a long time to browse is a must.
Two young ladies that were at the cashier were attentive and friendly! So nice to see.

Interesting discount store. Mainly went because of the LARGE selection of cotton fabrics. Great price per yard and I thought the cotton was good quality. Happily bought several yards for quilting.
Spent an hour shopping around with my family having a good time which was ruined by the so called “manager” of this (Sanford) location. He is extremely unprofessional, arrogant, cocky & rude and just has 0 customer service skills at all. Clearly the manager label has gotten to his head making comments like “I’m the manager so I can do whatever I want” and “I don’t have to show you our policy if I don’t want to, I don’t have to do anything. Look it up yourself” disgusting attitude and behavior from him & the way he handled the situation. Had he not immediately come off as arrogant and rude the situation could have been handled completely different in so many ways. Ended up walking out and leaving all our items which was easily over $60+ worth of stuff because of his attitude. I feel bad for the owners having this cocky & arrogant man as the manager of their store, thinking it’s ok to belittle customers and talk to them in such a disrespectful way.
Marden’s in general is amazing. Marden’s in Sanford is extra special. Here I find a kind of old-fashioned treatment of the customer. The staff always seem happy to help me or to ring up my purchases. And of course I want to brag about the hometown, small town feel in the store. The fabric department staff and managers are simply amazing. They know their products and their inventory. If it is in the store, these staff members can put their hands right on it. They know their stuff. I went in to purchase some interfacing. This item is usually $1.99/yard. It was a new bolt and had not been placed on the rack, so there was a small smudge of floor dust on one edge. I pointed it out and as I was trying to ask about the dirt mark (perhaps they could cut around it or cut out that section…) the manager offered to not charge me for those inches of dirt. I essentially was gifted a portion of the product. Generous and understanding of my crafting dilemma in facing a dirt smudge. Great people. Great store.
I always think that Marden's has some of the best deals around! Purchased a snowblower and a dishwasher in the Sanford martins. They were almost $400 to $600 below the regular price! Great deals. You just need to visit often.
Last Friday, Oct. 11, I purchased " too many" yards of fabric. Ha ha. Lisa was the one cutting and she was awesome. Please give her a 5 star rating. I live in Colorado but it all fit in my suitcase to fly home. The prices were so good!!!

The prices for fabric has gone too high. They should have more specific areas for lower prices. $6.99 yd is the normal price on average. That's their average. But it used to be 4 to 5.99 yd. With a lot of 2.99 yd special available.
Was my first shopping experience there. I went with a group of ladies, and we were all looking for gowns. We were not disappointed! We all purchased at least 2 gowns or more, along with other clothes items and shoes. The store has a variety of other items as well, including food. If you haven't been there yet, it's worth a visit!
We checked out the furniture store and the “department” store. We shopped there maybe a decade ago and wanted to see if anything had changed. The furniture store had a variety of discount couches, as advertised, and we were able to check out how comfy everything was. A friendly staff member came over to answer questions and make themselves available. There was no hard sell, which we appreciated. The other store was a bit more chaotic and some of the shelves were a bit disorganized. This is understandable for a Saturday afternoon, as there were quite a few customers. The grocery section was smaller than it was back 10 years ago. They had lots of discounted food with closer than normal expiration dates, which we were expecting. As long as you use the products right away this is usually fine. We really just come there to see unusual food items, like vanilla tootsie rolls and whatnot, but this time we didn’t notice anything noteworthy. We might go back again not on Saturday afternoon so it wouldn’t be a crowded / hectic. Overall still good places to buy discounted items, but buyer beware.
Awesome massive store like a TK Max. Italian Designer and other makes Carter's Hillfiger Boss etc. You have got to search, as lots of stock. Worth a visit if you are in area. Has an aroma Joe's Coffee joint in the car park very nice tasting real coffee....
