When I walked in and asked for pricing and also what kind of oil they used And if they didn't use something that I used if they were willing to put what I use in my vehicle and they said absolutely Well that's great business because that's hard to find nowadays I won't mention any names but other places won't put what you want in your vehicle for oil even if you bring it to them without them having to go get it they won't do that either but this place right here top notch service I may start using them for things that I don't feel like doing myself I've been here for a few different things now oil change was the last thing a few months ago it was another leaf spring in the back of my truck they did it excellent service there plus they've been around for a very long time and they have exceptional service I highly recommend them
I have had several older vehicles both import and American over the last 7 years and this company has always found the problem or problems and repaired them for a fair price. very satisfied. Thank you

I had an emergency situation on my Altima on my way back to NJ, I walked into the garage without appointment.the technician there was able to troubleshooting my car and fixed the problem without charge me anything, unbelievable!
I went here this morning with my roommate and she needed front brakes put on her SUV and one rotor replaced and had all 4 tires mounted and balanced for under $240.00. What a great place to do Business at, this morning at 8am. The staff members were very friendly and professional, and helpful too! The vehicle rides so much better. 😊

Overly strict on car inspection. I requested my cars AC be fixed and explained I had already used a AC kit to seal and replace the refrigerant. They failed my car inspection for a car that is in better condition than most on the road. They "fixed" my AC which still does not work and they charged me $120. I believe all they did was use an AC kit even though I told them I had already done it and it needed actual service. Very little communication between the shop and customer.
It's hard to find honest mechanics. I've been going to Harry J Smith Co. for years and they've been great. Quality service and prices are very fair. Save yourself time and stress and come here first.
Awesome crew! I just bought my first car this summer from a used car dealer and am honestly pretty ignorant when it comes to cars. So imagine my distress when my ford suddenly wouldn't start one day this winter, all lights blaring on the dash. The folks at Harry J Smith still treated me with the utmost respect and didn't hesitate to explain the details to me in a very non-judgemental way. It can sometimes be hard for women who aren't experts to find a mechanic, but they were really great to me, very prompt and transparent with what they were doing to the car, and extremely reasonable pricing. I worked mostly with Josh, who called daily with updates, made sure I knew what was going on at all times, and was polite and professional. All in all, a great experience, and I've been recommending them to everyone I know since.

Honest excellent service. Garage is clean well organized, staff are very knowledgeable. Brought 2 vehicles for an inspection. One failed due to a leaking caliper as a mechanic myself and never going there I took the vehicle home did it myself. The caliper was definitely leaking I’m extremely happy they found it. I brought my other vehicle back for an alignment I have complete faith to expect nothing but the best!
The place where locals go for excellent work that your car or truck actually needs! Fast and amiable, truthful, female-friendly. Call ahead for service. I've been going here for almost thirty years and they've never steered me wrong. I've always been treated respectfully and they appreciate my business.
Going to get a car inspected can cause a lot of anxiety about repairs. We brought our car in and they were able to get it in before our appointment even started. They were very friendly and honest. This is the first time in my life I was able to get an inspection without needing any work done. There's a reason they have been in business over 100 years. Highly recommend!
If you have any doubt what another repair place says (like VIP) bring it here! they will save you $$$! Lots of it. VIP said i needed work that would be around 800+ and I brought it to them it the repairs we not that bad and only cost me a fraction of the cost. like 397 or something.

They got my leaf spring replaced in my 07 Tundra after one just snapped one day.... Dealership was a complete replacement at over $1,000... I believe the bill was just around $200 to replace a single leaf.... I'LL TAKE IT! Been fine since! Would go back for the same issue again!
I was recommended here when I first moved up from MA in 2014 and didn't want to roll the dice on a new mechanic being a single young woman.
There have been multiple times that they've let me know where to go to get the best deal on the repair I need if it's not something they're equipped to do. The first time I went was because a different mechanic fixed an issue that returned within the week, so I called Harry j Smith instead and they recommended that I double check to see if the mechanic that initially fixed to would be willing to fix it again for free before they took my money. At that point I didn't really trust the first mechanic which is why I was checking elsewhere, but I definitely appreciated that. I've been coming here for years now, they're friendly people who do good work and I always recommend them to others!
Great experience! They were really friendly and communicative about what they were going to do, making sure I was in the loop. They seemed to have lots of time flexibility when I called in, and I was in and out within about 30 minutes!
Again, super friendly, and very reasonable cost for the service I needed.
Also PS to Colby students, they will come to campus and check your car in the lot/bring it down to their garage themselves if you need work done!
