Checked website to see if they were open it said yes loaded up everything I was going to scrap about two hours of cleaning out garage. Drive all the way here and they were closed. Too much work to put in to be lied to. Treat your customers with some respect at least.
Employees are the best, and Mr. Waddell and his son are great and one or both are always willing to speak to customers. Best place to take your scrap. Best prices in 3 countries or more. Only place I will go for my recycling of all types of scrap metal. Only reason I wouldn't take my scrap metal here is when they are closed for their annual vacation week around the 4th of July.
WADDELLS IN ELIZABETHTOWN KY HAVE BEEN THE ABSOLUTE BEST BUSINESS FOR ALL MY METAL SALES . I HAUL ALL MY METALS TO THEM . I HAUL IN JUNK VEHICLES SEVERAL TIMES EACH WEEK.
FOR ME THE DRIVE ROUND TRIP TO GET TO THEM IS 1 HR & 30 MINS.
SURE I HAVE OTHER OPTIONS ,BUT WHY WOULD I GO ELSE WHERE ?
NO NEED TO WHEN THEY OFFER THE BEST SERVICE IN THE AREA, ALONG WITH BEING ONE OF, IF NOT THE ONLY CLEANEST SCRAP YARDS THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN.

I can't say enough good things about waddell's auto scrap and metal recycling we've taken a lot of cans vehicles everything metal here has always been a positive experience every single time. The owner is very friendly and so is the staff all the way around.
To be honest. This place is second to none. They treat you like family and will explain the entire scrap process to you if you are a rookie like I was. Wouldn’t go anywhere else I tell you that. Go check them out today. You will leave satisfied and you will return.
Worst place to go to they lied to me on the phone saying that the fender I purchased had nothing on it I specifically asked if there were any dents scratches or Anything on it other than it being plain silver and the women said no it’s plain and silver nothing is on it so then I pay for it over the phone with my card and have my dad go and pick it up for me since I had to work and he brings it to me and it has a pin stripe on it. I call to see if I can get my money back because that’s not what the women told me on the phone and they pretty much tell me I’m lying and no I bought it they can’t do anything that I can take a heat gun and take it off myself. This is rediculous the lady false advertised this fender to me so I should be able to get my money back and the manager wanted to laugh at me and say welp sold as is… management should never treat customers this way. I would never go there again nor send any friends or family.
This is an awesome setup to take all your scrap and recycling! It’s very clean! Don’t worry so much about getting a flat like most other places! All kinds of room to turn around. They even sweep your trailer off for you if it needs it! The staff is very friendly and helpful! Best prices around! We’ll worth it to drive a little further. As a bonus the ladies even give me a few pieces of candy when they pay you! Lol
I thought this was a good place until today. I had called to see if they were closing early due to weather and was told no. I thought i had till 4. I still called again to make sure at 245. They then said they were and could wait 15 min for me. Then as we were on phone I was told no they couldnt even wait that. I had no money for gas or food until i sold my scrap. They closed not even caring that i was now stranded. I even offered to take people home who couldnt get home. Ill never let these people have my business again. Its crazy to know a business would do a person this way. Now to figure out how to get home. THANKS WADDELS FOR NOTHING! And please respond to this and tell me that im lying! I can show my call log and my gps position at said time. I understand people needing to get home. But some people rely on your business to eat and survive. You left me stranded with no way home when i was a loyal customer. Not anymore.
ended up getting 90 cents a pound for number two copper when the going rate is $3. I'll stick with Edwards recycling where they pay more.
Update: they made it right when confronted with a receipt from another local scrap recycler for the same day. Had mismarked the copper as insolated copper. Ultimately a good experience in the end.
Very well organized, and upkept
Staff was very friendly, and knowledgeable were everything I needed was parts wise, and have a large selection from older cars/trucks to very recent ones.
If you need parts i would highly recommend checking them out
Every time I’ve needed to dispose of my old worn out vehicle i always count on Waddell. They either pick it up or I’ve dropped off a few. The price for recycling was the best I could find and has always been. Even with COVID running rampant they are practicing safe habits. You’ll feel safe conducting business here they take the extra step to make sure you feel safe.

Not only is it clean and organized but the service is fast and friendly. Several times I have went looking for a specific part and they have known exactly where the vehicle or appliance was that had the part I needed. When I have been there to scrap they were just as amazing and the prices are always the best around!
Great people and business, great prices, I started taking my scrap here and now I won't take it anywhere else, everyone is super friendly and always willing to help when I pull in with either a car or load of scrap, highly recommend, iv never had a bad experience
Waddell's is very clean very organized very friendly place to take your scrap metal aluminum copper all of it they give you every penny that you deserve I suggested everybody when it comes to taking your scrap to a scrap yard go to Waddell's on Steele Drive in E-town Kentucky
Anyone who put 5 stars on here is lying probably work here to make the numbers better, everyone at Waddell’s is short tempered, rude, the women up front has an incredible temper and sent of entitlement. I’ll never return and I wish the worst for Waddell’s hope they have to close there gates
Third time I have tried to purchase scrap metal Called at 1235 and inquired as to scrap price, the person on the phone at the business that sells scrap metal cannot tell me the price of scrap metal! Said no one would be able to answer the question until 3 and they close at 4!
Previously was told would get prices and call back. NO ONE CALLED
Then on site the staff was generally rude and clueless. Today was last attempt of several over last year. I give up. This is no way to actually run a business, if that's how you are ACTUALLY (in reality) making your money! Avoid!
