Website indicates they take TVs so I called just now and said I have three flat panels and one CRT we don't take TVs she says interesting guess you can't trust the internet when you're trying to find places to do business which makes no logical sense other than it's typical Indiana. It's the Zores website not a third party that says they take TVs. Glad I didn't just load them up and make a trip down there without calling first.
It's very sad that they don't care about all the huge bumps and all the nails laying everywhere. I've been going to zores for years and they just let the entire area go to hell. I've messed up one of my trailers from going here, broke the stand on my trailer from the huge bumps on the ground. I've gotten numerous nails in my tires it seems like they don't even care about their customers and their vehicles and trailers. The staff is absolutely amazing. But the area where we have to dump our scrap has huge bumps in the ground there's always nails everywhere and it's truly sad that they don't even care to clean it up, to level the ground, to try to get the nails out of the way. I'm actually considering going to a new scrap yard because I have a brand new trailer and I don't want the ground to mess up the jack stand and I don't want to get a bunch of nails in my tires. I seriously hope the higher-ups see this comment and make some changes because I've been going to you guys for years and it's not fair that I have to risk my vehicle and damaging my trailer just to go somewhere that I offer loyalty. Please do better for your customers
They took 20% off of the weight the scales said for what I dropped off (80lbs vs 100lbs), and didn't give me the change for what was owed for that already shortchanged weight ($6 instead of $6.40)
Also has lots of metal bits on the ground that make me fear for my tires
I loaded 8 Tv's and 2 printers into my truck. Drove all the way from
Greencastle. Got in line on scales. Then the told me the were charging 10.00 per T.V. Brought in 12 gauge THHN and they said it was #2 insulated for $1.50/pound, the pricing board said #1 insulated was only $1.65/pound so I didn’t bother arguing with them.
I’ve been an electrician for years and #2 is only for communications/computer wiring. #1 insulated should be well over $2/pound.
DO NOT come here unless you want to get over $1/pound less than what you’re owed.

It's a terrible place! Also, they don't let me take my personal things out of the vehicle and the lady who is supposed to help me is racist. She let an American lady in several times and since I'm Hispanic, she let me in once. Also, she doesn't give me all the information I need, just a few things and that makes the vehicle stay locked longer. (Not to say that she helped me unwillingly)
Although maps and their sign say they're open until 12:30 on Saturdays, they were closing their gates when I drove up at 12:10 this afternoon, and said they close at noon. This was very disappointing, as I drove 45 minutes to drop off some electronics I've been needing to get rid of, and have been struggling to find the time. (Edit: moderating the review after I've cooled off a bit.)
Came in when they open at 8 so I could be to work by 8:30. Everyone was friendly and helped me get through quickly. When I was leaving to get paid I realized I left my I.d. (My fault). She comes back and says we can’t pay you unless you have an id. It says it at least 3 times coming in. Not true because I was on the website last night, this morning and drove through there was nothing. She would not budge. So very frustrating experience. Not to mention there’s no reason they should need an id. I’ve never heard of that.

This place is the worst of the worst there are straight out aweful. I took 5 aluminum rims here he wanted to give me 40 cents a piece for them. I went to A different place and got 90 dollars your just ripping people off how do sleep at night.
They don't answer questions because they love to hang up the phone on you it's funny that this business has been open for 97 years yet they have the worst customer service ever there obviously is no concern for any customers questions or anything I suggest going to integrity metals instead of this garbage can of a business..... Or even OmniSource.....
I have been to many scrap metal yards in the tri-state area, and this one is consistently the worst. The yard is poorly maintained, extremely poorly layed out, and unorganized. I understand any scrap yard is going to have some mess, clutter, and wear, but 8 inch deep potholes and 10 inch pools of water everywhere is just not ideal. I also find their prices are consistently lower than other yards, and the employees are often unhelpful or just plain rude. Their location is convenient but if you want a good yard to sell your metal, avoid this place at all costs. If you do decide to come, bring a 4x4 truck and waterproof boots. You’re gonna need it to unload…
Well the web site is completely false! Per the website, they take ALL electronics and FREE. The detailed list included the flat screen tv and the microwave. Took a flat screen tv and microwave. We were told that they did not take the flat screen tv and the microwave would cost 10 cents/pound.
I would recommend to avoid contact with a female voice who answers if you are inquiring about any related residential concerns. In spite the website stating, " If you have a sizeable amount of e-waste to get rid of, we can pick it up and haul it away for free!", the lady who picks up and hangs up several times, will deny the clause is there. You must have a minimum 4,000 pounds and let's say if you tell this independent company they're wrong, they will deny services. Zore's please be mindful that your expressions today of microaggression was to refer companies who will charge people an offer you are providing for free, and denying me services. What was expressed to me today was an abuse of power and rudeness by the female representative who took 28 minutes to finally direct me to the real boss that was able to point me to independent contractors from Facebook but I don't have social media either. Thanks for all the nonservice provided to me today. The only resolution I got from the call was that I was talking to a company and from the sound of my voice they assumed they were talking to a WOMAN WHO is not equipped to run a business, not have an equivalent of 2 tons in her 4,000 sq ft home, that I only want to do it for a desire to obtain money, and I like social media. (Which are all false)

I was in a car accident they towed my car and told me the car would still be there for the insurance company to look at. Not even a week later they claimed the car had already been scrapped before the insurance company came to look at the car. Now I'm not able to collect the full amount for my car. So unfair! This location is on 47th street.
Cleaned out my shed and was going to take my scap metal and caylitic converter to zore. Called the recycle area to check on pricing and was told they pay 10.00 for caylitic converters because they don't like to receive them. These came off of vehicles that were crushed and we had the title. This person was rude and why does zore advertise that they accept caylitic converters, if they act this way.....just saying. I was very suprised
This place is about towing your vehicle and giving no notice. If you don't know where your vehicle went then they will sell it after 45 days creating a new title called rebuilt. This is legal car theft at best. I understand there is a need for towing due to illegal, illicit, or nafarious activities. However, if a person does not know their car is towed how is it legal to sell it? If I could give zero stars to this company and it's shyster activities they would get it. Beware vehicle owners!!!

My experience at zore's recycling was not a good one ,first time I called the young lady said sure we, take air conditioning units. I said is it easy... she said sure you just pull up.
When I pulled in went to her trailer Office, she advised I had back into 9 inches of Water and unload the Units myself. Tennis shoes and socks and Rolled up pants Soaked!!! So no 'FORE WARNING ' a Bad Review...

They come up as a recycler for catalytic converters. I went there to recycle one only to be told they only pay $10/unit. When I questioned their price the receptionist told me they only post that much because they do not like to accept them.
Then why put them on your website and deceive the public?
