Golden Idaho Truck Repair LLC
I went in for a simple oil change, and it turned into a frustrating experience. The job took 3 hours, which is completely unreasonable for an oil change on a semi — every other shop I’ve been to finishes it in about 1 hour and charges 1 hour of labor.
Instead, they tried to charge me for 3 hours, which is insane. After arguing, the guy finally brought it down to 1.5 hours, but even that is far more than what any normal shop charges for the same service.
Very disappointed with the slow service and the attempt to overcharge. I won’t be coming back.
I went to this shop on 11-19-2025 strictly to get a regen done on my truck — nothing more. Then they suddenly tried to charge me $975 without giving any clear explanation. When I questioned the charge, they told me they had bypassed my outlet NOx sensor without even asking for my permission. When I refused to pay for something I never authorized, they tried to intimidate me and even threatened to call the police. They held onto my truck key and refused to return it unless I paid the $975. They wouldn’t take card, and when I asked about Zelle, they suddenly raised the price to $1,500. The whole situation felt shady and unprofessional. At one point, the way the owner spoke to me felt completely disrespectful and came across as discriminatory, which made the whole experience even worse. Then they told me to take his old Prius, drive it to the ATM, and get cash — and on top of that, he had the nerve to tell me not to “steal anything” from his car. The level of disrespect was unbelievable. When I finally paid the $975 in cash just to get my truck back, they didn’t even provide a real receipt. Then someone there casually mentioned a buyer for my truck, as if they had any right to talk about selling it without my permission. Absolutely unacceptable behavior. To anyone reading this: this is my honest experience. Be extremely careful — they treated me terribly, charged me without consent, and acted like they could hold my truck hostage until I paid whatever random amount they demanded. They don’t even deserve one star.

Driving through Boise, Idaho and my Crankshaft Damper decided to break off 😳 Not only did it break off, but it also created a ton of additional damage. Given me a total repair bill costing way more than I wanted to spend. (Rush Truck Centers are straight crooks). Pressed into a desperate situation, I ok'd Rush to proceed with repairs. Now here's where the truck God's looked out for me! Crankshaft Damper was on backorder 😡 no idea when it will be available. I am livid and definitely sitting between a rock and a hard place. My next phone call was to Golden Idaho. I explained my situation to the owner, and he simply replied, yes I have the part 😁 This mechanic shop is also a salvage yard. What a blessing. Not only did he have everything that I needed new and used, but he was also able to put 2 mechanics on the job and got it done that day. I can't be more thankful for the service and their commitment to get my truck completed knowing I'm behind schedule. In my opinion, he's one you can trust. I highly recommend this company. Great job guys!
Today they helped me remove a wheel that was cracked and stuck on because of a different shop. They used ingenuity and had me back on the road in 2 hours. Lester Schwab wanted 3x the price.

We lost a bolt on our trailer and were lucky enough to break down near this shop. The service was incredibly fast—our problem was solved in just 40 minutes at a very reasonable price. The mechanics were friendly and a pleasure to work with. I’ll definitely recommend this place if you ever need any truck or trailer assistance!
A thorough and unbiased review.
To start, I will say they got me in and out same day and that's worth five stars.
I broke down outside of town and had the truck towed to their location. I was under the impression that this meant shop rates but bc it wasn't directly in their shop down the street, I had to pay outside of shop rates which was $175/hour.
They got to work at 9:30 and finished at 1:30, replacing the carrier bearing.
Driveline had fallen out and I was lucky that everything was in good shape and the only thing needing replaced was the carrier bearing. Still, after all that it's puzzling why they didn't just replace the bearing to start with. Instead they removed the driveshaft and looked for a replacement in their yard and at the shop. When they couldn't find a matching drive shaft they decided to replace the carrier bearing. From that point to completion only took one hour.
All in all I paid for 3 hours labor plus parts totalled $887.
Overcharged, wasted time trying to cut corners, but delivered in the end and that's worth 4 stars I believe. One of those things where if you don't know what you're doing then you're at the mercy of the shop.

Best truck service on the West coast. Forget TA, Love's and other services, that will waste your time and most likely break your truck. I've had more than one truck fixed at this service. And every time the technicians solved the problems I came to them with. Today they fixed the hub bearing on the trailer. They always have parts in stock, and if something is not available, they will find it quickly. Highly Recommend!
Completely unsatisfied with service I got. Did not meet my expectations. Came with airbags problem and level valve I’ve told to fix it but mechanic broke it while was working and then got his boss come to me to cover his back. All installed parts were used ones and he charged them like for new ones. The work that could be done in 2 hours I’ve been charged for 6 hours labor. And total charge was 1055$ for one air bag one used level valve and one small used airbag.All mechanics unknowleged uncertified workers. Never leave a review but this time driver after 300 miles of driving had same issue with level valve. Gave a call back to this shop and they blocked me for no reason.
Fair price and great staff. I took my car in for check ups and inspection. They took the car in quickly and gave it a good look over. They recommended a few parts that needed replacement and said where I can get them to save some extra money.
Would highly recommend to anyone looking for good service, fair price and mechanics with great knowledge in repair and maintenance.
Had a problem with my EGR. And Check Engine lights called in Yuiry was very knowledgeable and diagnosed the issue quickly with his computer. He had the parts at his yard where he has an abundance of trucks to pull parts from. Great experience back on the road in no time. 5 Star service.
