I would give it zero stars but I don't have that option. First off, the employees really like to argue with you about what's what and they get rude when you try to share your opinion on something that differs from theirs. They clearly don't know the difference between #2 copper and bare bright. I have saved up scrap copper over the years including lots of bare bright wire I obtained from various people and places. So I stripped a bunch of it and started bringing it in 20 to 30 lb at a time and the smart mouth little employee at the Caldwell location started accusing me of stealing. The last time I went there I wasted my gas and time because I live 30 miles away from that location. I stood there and waited ten minutes while the guy ignored me and then when he finally approached me, this little smart mouth decided he wanted to know exactly where I got all my copper which being saved up over the years, I don't have one specific source, and I assured him nothing nefarious was going on. He waited till I was out of ear shot and asked my girlfriend where I got my copper, as if she was going to expose some big crime and he would be the hero. This made her very uncomfortable because he tended to stare at her many times before. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he proceeded to tell me he was the boss and the only one working but he was the big boss over everybody as if there was nobody above him. When I questioned him about why I all of a sudden had to document where I got it, he got rude and told me to leave. So as I was leaving, literally in my car driving out of the garage there, he continued to tell me to leave and said he was going to call the cops. Extremely rude and tried to make me look like a criminal. So it's good to know that United Metals has profilers working for them maybe they should quit their day job and go be cops. It's too bad too because I will direct everybody away from that place even if they do pay good prices. But that kid being too big for his britches that stereotypes everyday people twice his age, is disrespectful and self loathing will cost you business and will continue to until something's done about that.
I’ve used several scrap yards over the years, but United Metals is by far my go-to for recycling, scrap metal, and tire disposal. The location is always clean and well-managed, which speaks to their professionalism. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. With so many options out there, United Metals continues to earn my business through excellent service and reliability. Highly recommended!
Your driver is currently out driving like a maniac. He's not checking his mirrors, not using his blinker, and pushing people off the road. Train your employees for safe driving or get off the road!

Best place in The valley as far as I’m concerned great customer service super fair on prices and legit they’re not scandalous like a handful other places around here and they pay cash so my opinion yeah they are the go to spot if you scrap or recycle
This is my go to scrap selling spot. I usually have a lot of cans and assorted steel to sell, and these guys always give you a good price. Real nice people, and they are always willing to help you.
I scrap for a living, so I need to cut off the cat's of the cars I scrap. United has the best price in town local. Nice to work with and helpful.

It is a pleasure to see United Metals going the extra steps that they do to be a part of the community. With their annual participation in the Caldwell Christmas parade (a lot of people go just to be able to see their equipment decorated with all the lights), the decorating of their equipment for the kids, giving away trick or treat bags for Halloween and keeping their place of business so clean and organized.
They are very cooperative and easy to work with when selling our scrap. The staff is extremely helpful.

I witnessed United Metals going above and beyond for my neighbor and they certainly deserve some recognition for the amount of kindness they displayed to her. As an elderly, widowed woman, there are a lot of tasks that she simply cannot perform by herself, one of the biggest being the clean-up of the scrap metal on her property. A few months ago, I noticed a crew working to get things cleaned up for her so I figured she had finally decided to hire someone. After I commented on how great her placed looked, she explained that United Metals had taken care of everything for her at no cost. I was immediately impressed because this was not a small task! Most importantly, she repeatedly mentioned how appreciative she was of their kind gesture.

I give 5 stars plus to united metals! Guy is a hard worker, and he always has a great attitude, and a smile for us when we come in! We don't take our scrap metal to anybody else. It doesn't matter if we only bring in a few bags of aluminum cans, or a whole trailer full of prepared iron, it's always easy and pleasant, and we come away with a few bucks in our pocket. 3 cheers to Guy, and everybody else at United metals! Processing the weighing, unloading and payment is fast, and quite efficient.
Sam, the front office staff member, is friendly and welcoming. Does not present the typical atmosphere which one might expect from this type of business.
The crane operator swept the area into which I was going to back into for unloading, prior to my entering that area. Wow. Did not expect that at all. This helped prevent me from picking up stuff into my trailer tires.
Great customer service. They guy at the front is fast and friendly. When I empty out my trailer the guys working the equipment stop what they are doing and assist.
Very friendly employees....excellent customer service.....clean and organized environment....quick service...have recommended to other people your business.
