Nope! Don’t go to this place! I went in with my daughter’s car because the heating wasn’t working and it was leaking coolant. The next day they called me and told me that the whole coolant system has to be replaced to stop the leaks, and for the heater, they need to “further diagnose” to find the issue (while, in the same time they were saying that the actuator/ the flaps that change from cold to warm is broken… but they have to “further diagnose”… ) Regardless, we agreed to fix just the leak issue because I didn’t wanted to ruin the engine; he asked for $1200 but eventually drop it down to $1000 after negotiating with him. Needless to say, 2 weeks later (the car isn’t driven to much), the overheating warning came on while my daughter was on her way to school, the coolant reservoir was empty. We managed to bring it back and I was told that the houses that run the coolant into the cabin radiator(for heating) are leaking now… and I was asked another $500 for this job… interesting… I remember we agreed to change the whole cooling system… I just took the car out, he will never have our business again and I would recommend the place only to my enemies.

It's 5 stars only because there wasn't an option for 6 or more! This shop and people are salt of the earth and excellent mechanics. I needed a timely job done in order to be in the 4th of July parade for Star, and they made a miracle happen. The best, simply the best!!

I was recommended by a friend. When I took my truck here and presented my situation, Steve went above and beyond in being helpful and gracious in getting my truck fixed. His prices are fair, definitely lower then dealerships, he was direct and thorough. I am very appreciative to him and his team for all he did to help me out in my tricky situation! Great experience!!!

We have had Steve do our brakes on our Toyota. Really Great work and reasonable prices. He's such a nice man. His employees are very friendly too. And he let's me Give his doggies lots of Love!! This is the place to go!!

Well, where to start? 3k into a truck that should not have cost that much and I had to take it to another repair shop to get it fixed. Taken back twice for a new timing set and it rattled as if it were never fixed. Rough idle, poor running after being taken back twice. They were issued a letter requesting return of funds for poor work. I cited improper repair found by another shop that could have been catastrophic but was caught before it trashed my engine. Unfortunately the end result is that the more may already be ruined. Loose timing set that was not torqued to specs, one bolt was less than finger tight, RTV clogged all the oil ports, and a single spark plug wire was not put on correctly. Due to the clogged oil ports I may already have bad crank bearings and cam bearings. Since they refuse to respond then I will move to my only alternative. Good job Steve's, your shotty work will be expensive. Update, other mechanic videoed improperly installed timing chain guide by Steve's Auto. I have since sent that to STEVE'S, and they deny it was wrongfully done by their mechanic....even though it's clear as day, on video as it was opened up for inspection. Ironic. Here is a few months after being ripped off, business is still unprofessional and takes advantage of ppl. Still a dishonest business, no intestinal fortitude, no honesty.

Can't compliment Steve and the gang enough. Had a overheating car emergency, and I messaged Steve about it. Gave us a loaner, so there was no need to get a rental and had it running again in two days on short notice. Best shop in the valley

My windshield wipers stopped working and I took the car to Steve. I pulled up at 8:00am on a Saturday morning and was out the door by 8:20. He quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed it and sent me on my way. He refused payment and said it was no big deal. Great guy and has two wonderful dogs to keep you company if you are waiting for your repair. Hard to find such an honest, hard working, mechanic. Support your local businesses and support Steve. Highly recommend.

This may well be one of the last truly honest hometown auto repair shops in the valley. Reasonable pricing, friendly staff and Steve is one of Star's most charitable citizens to boot. Always giving. We need more businesses like this.

We have a Dodge Dakota that had some mechanical issues and ended up needing a transmission rebuild and rack and pinion replaced. Everything was done in a timely manner and it runs great now. We have all our auto services done here. Great people and great work! Thanks!

My husband always took care of all of our auto needs so I had never used any mechanic before. Steve's was in walking distance, so I decided to take my truck there and I'm so thankful. I was surprised and relieved by his welcoming, helpful and kind nature. It was just an oil change, but it was intimidating to me. He gave suggestions for next time and explained things without being condescending. All that & it didn't cost me near as much as I feared. I am very glad to have somewhere I feel comfortable bringing my truck from now on.

Fast and excellent service and at a fair price. Hard to find all three at one place these days. I will bring all my cars to Steve for all my repairs and maintenance.

Swindlers. 4 hours to adjust roller rockers? Lol No. Lose money trying to be greedy. Told me it takes a hour to remove valve covers. Ok.. be careful going to this place..

Steve is a wonderful man who is there to serve. He was able to let me borrow his family members vehicle while mine was in the shop. So grateful for him. I'm hopeful that his team is able to keep up with his honest and pleasing standard he has set for this business.

I very much appreciate Steve's Auto Care for getting my vehicle in and fixed quickly. Steve was very helpful and went out of his way to get the part needed over the weekend so when my car arrived Monday morning by tow truck, it was fixed and ready to pick up by Noon same day. Drives great now. I would recommend them and will be returning if I ever have the need.

Steve's Auto Care did a fabulous job for my parents .. they were kind and patient with my aging parents who missed their first appointment due to a hospital admission. They took care of the water pump in their RV. Thank you for being a great shop and helping them get their rig moving again.

Just had to add another review-I will never go to another shop for anything but an oil change. Even though I've moved and live about 20 miles away now, Steve's got my business! A lube shop just told me I needed a $300+ fix, Steve looked at the "problem" and said it isn't a problem and wouldn't even take anything for his expert opinion and time. Honest, dependable, experienced and reliable. Steve goes above and beyond because he actually cares. And my review from a year ago: I brought my car in for a second opinion (after seeing the dealer) and was so impressed with the service center's work-up, input and prices I went ahead and had them do the work. Steve's Auto just couldn't be a nicer place-great people, kind, honest and more than fair. They've got my business and heartfelt THANKS!

I was traveling through Idaho and noticed my truck was leaking a lot of oil. I took it to Steve’s shop and he quickly diagnosed and repaired my truck for a very reasonable price.

Absulutely terrible. After spending $700 dollars to “fix” my car it still has the same EXACT issues. Took it to the dealer and they recommended to fix things that he never even brought up to me in his “thorough diagnosis” waste of money. Don’t go here

Steve’s Auto is about the only place I trust with my vehicle. My husband’s employer also started sending the work vehicles in because of the honest treatment, reasonable prices and quick service. We had a streak of bad luck with our vehicle since January this year, starting with a busted driver’s side window in the middle of a snow storm. Then the entire break system needed replaced (which I knew was going to happen). This summer the car broke down twice and thank heaven it did in Star, close enough that Steve and his crew were able to tow it back to shop, saving me time and money. Not sure if that is something they always do or they just felt sorry for me. Either way I’m grateful. We ended up having to replace the alternator and battery the first time and then replace the transmission the second time. Both times he called to explain options and prices before starting work. I have never felt talked down to or felt that anyone was trying to pull money out of my pocket. I have always left my vehicle confident that only appropriate and necessary repairs would be done. I can’t say the same for other shops I’ve been to in the past. Our van is back on the road and running good. Just had check engine light come on this week and I took it in to Steve this morning to make sure it was safe to drive next week on our Thanksgiving road trip. Turns out all we needed was a bit of fuel system cleaner. Sent me on my way with a bottle and we were out of there in 10 minutes. Awesome place. I have recommended to friends and will continue to do so.

Taking your car into the shop can be like walking into a dentist – painful and expensive! This recently happened to me when I took my car into Steve’s Auto Care in Star. I thought I had an exhaust problem that might run $500 tops. It turned out to be a transmission problem (and a few other things) that ended up being around $3,900.00 – that’s the OUCH and the Expensive part. I picked up my car after about 3 weeks or so in the shop – excited to have wheels again. My wife and I were very disappointed to find out the car acted worse than when we took it in. We returned the car to Steve – expecting to get a run-around. But no, instead, we received the utmost in professionalism and courtesy. Steve not only fixed the car better than before, but he also fixed a problem that was going to cost us down the road – and he did so for free! Steve, is a very honest and conscientious businessman. I strongly suggest you go there for all your auto care needs. Thank-you Steve!

Scheduled an inspection on a used car and Steve saved me a ton of money by giving me a call after just the visual inspection instead of just moving forward. Great guy. Great business. Will definitely use him again.
