My car had body damage from a minor accident and I took it to Callahan for repair. First let me say that the staff was incredibly nice and so helpful with guiding me through the process and working with the insurance company. I picked my car up yesterday and it looked amazing. No one would ever know there was damage, a truly beautiful job. I always prefer to use local family owned businesses instead of big companies and I am so glad I came to Callahan Paint and Body.
I would do zero or negative 5 if possible. I had my car towed by them, not my choice, the county's. They had outrageous fees and rude every step of the way. Finally got all my items out of the car, mad two trips to be extra sure and found out items were missing. Tried talking to the owner who decided to tell me to take it up with the deputies who didn't do a complete inventory, that they don't need to steal. She said this AFTER admitting that my car wasn't in full view of the camera when I was there in person, told me who were employees are (mostly family), that she wasn't going to argue and hung up on me. I will not be dropping this. I also encourage to anyone and everyone else to file a report with the county sheriff's office. They are on the list with the county, and if they are not going to liable for missing items, but not so proper inventory lists, they do not need to be on that list. I didn't have a say or the option to choose a wrecker company and have ended up being robbed! And from the reviews, this isn't the first time peoples' items have gone missing, or been allegedly stolen from this company. Again, if you have or had items go missing please please make a report and bring this issue up to the county so hopefully they get taken off the list and no longer have the chance to allow items to go "missing". I was in the hospital when my belongings "walked out of my car". Absolutely disgusting! I will also be making any formal complaint I possibly can and encourage anyone else experiencing the same to do also. Why would someone take my scanner if they have a $30,000 one? Maybe because it looked just like a tablet and believed it was something else? Or for general principle? Who knows? But it doesn't change the fact that that item, with others are now gone and they were ones who had (and have) possession of the car. Do not let Nassau county call them if you get in an accident! Do not, do not, DO NOT! Or be prepared to replace items.
When my brother took his truck to them, they would not release it to me. He is in a mental institution. The body shop said my brother has to pick it up. I told them he was not in his right mind. They are 2 hours from my house. The body shop still has the truck and is charging 30.00 a day to keep it.
Where do I begin on saying how happy I am with Callahan Paint and Body. Stephanie and her team has been absolutely amazing. My husband and son was rear ended and we had to deal with a horrible insurance company on trying to get our truck repair. But Mrs Stephanie has went beyond what she should have to on making situation better. Brittany in the office has been extremely nice to talk to on many phone calls. We have had to use this Body shop before and will continue to use them if we need them in the future.
DO NOT, and I mean do NOT go to this place. I got into accident in my mom's truck and we went there today to grab things out of it to find it open and destroyed that weren’t either open/destroyed at the accident. We also found out that there were about $200-600 worth of tools, cleaners, and other stuff that belonged to us, and the fact that the lady that runs the place tried to top my mom if a verbal fight was pushing my buttons. She better be glad my grandfather was there to hold me back from lashing out at her and telling her to take a hike, but in a more mean way.
If I could give a zero I would, when my truck was towed there after an accident my son was in, they finally let me get my personal belongings out of the truck once I signed my truck over to them. Only to find it had been broken into and over $500 worth of my property had been stolen. Not only that but parts of my truck we're missing and windows broken that weren't broken in the accident. These people don't care about anyone's property that is stored on their property.
I have used Callahan Paint and Body 3 or 4 different times over the past few years. The most recent was about 2 months ago, when my car received body damage from a minor accident. They've always done wonderful work, all the employees have been friendly and professional. My car looks flawless. I would without hesitation, recommend Callahan Paint and Body to anyone!
Took my 2016 Ford Explorer to this place for some front end damage. They did awesome work on my front end. Paint looks great. Work looks great. Only issue I had was I was told it would take 2-4 days to have my car fixed. A week and a half later my car was fixed. Also they missed a dent on my driver side fender which didn’t get fixed and now wants to charge me another hundred bucks to get it fixed. Once I got my car back all was well until now my driver side headlight no longer works. It has moisture in it. Before I gave them my car my headlight was fine and worked fine. They were instructed to buff the scratches out of the headlight. When I called to explain my headlight no longer worked once I got it back from them and a rainstorm came by they told me they were not responsible for replacing my headlight. Yet it worked fine before I dropped my car off to them. I was told “they don’t have a $1K to put out for a new headlight.” I feel like this issue is their fault when my headlight was FINE until I gave it to them.
I will not use this company again.
Callahan Paint and Body not only did an amazing job on my car after a wreck, they took care of everything from start to finish. They are able to handle the repairs and reset on the air bags and electronics as well as doing an amazing job on the body work and the paint matching is spot on. Stephanie went above and beyond, assiting me in the process and communicating with the insurance company directly to make the process seamless and painless.
They have been working in my cars since I was 16 years old and I'm 31 now. Everytime they have made sure my car is back to new before I get it back. Just had to drop off my SUV and I know it will be no different then the last times!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! They advertise that you have a choice in towing companies, so I urge you never call them or let the sheriff call them (at an accident scene). The lady in the office (who I believe to be co-owner) is absolutely rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. She also contradicts herself a lot. She told me I wasn't the 1st unhappy customer but also told me no one didn't like her.
My France's truck was towed after an accident. We were under the impression if we didn't recover the vehicle they kept and sold it to cover our towing expense. However, we found out they can place a lien on your license if you decide not to recover your vehicle. She informed me she was unable to contact us and decided to place the lien. When I told her we never recieved a call she told me she is too busy to call people. She also told me she is too busy to answer the phone after I complained I could never get an answer forcing me to drive an hour to be able to talk to her.
She was rude and argumenative both times I dealt with her. The first time I left cursing at her. So the second time I called the courthouse and sheriff 1st to find out more before having to pay $445. I walked in ready to pay the second time and She was just as rude and literally called the sheriff's office requesting them to come bc I mentioned they offered to come with me. She also told me she was suing me for defamation bc I told her other people agreed she was rude. AND IT IS NOT DEFAMATION IF IT'S TRUE.
Additionally I requested all documents she had on our truck. She told me she couldn't give them to me bc they were on the computer. She did give me a copy of the tracking for the certified mail. I still don't know how much they recovered from selling or junking our truck and what that money wasn't applied to the balance.
I have been advised that they do shady business so please please avoid these people. She is rude and something isn't adding up.
