Recently hauled out for bottom painting and some other routine maintenance work on my 46' catamaran and had a great experience. Danny, Ricardo, Andy, and the rest of the team were well organized, professional, helpful, very personable, and reasonably priced. I'll definitely be a return customer.
We were on our way from Louisiana to the Bahamas through Channel 5 when we started taking on water from a failed shaft log seal. Key Largo Boatyard was the only yard that could handle us and they happed to be conveniently located. We were hauled, repaired, and back in the water in 3 days. Can’t say enough great things about the team. Ricardo, Andy, Tim, and Danny were competent, expedient, and wonderfully affable. Keep Key Largo Boatyard in your emergency phone number list.
I can’t thank Ricardo and his crew enough for our time at the Key Largo Boatyard. We did a DIY bottom job and not only did they provide top quality materials for us, but they shared their expertise and guided us through completion of a great job. Tim handle our Lagoon 450 with great care both on the haulout and splash. If you are doing your own work, I highly recommend considering this place. The only downside is no onsite restrooms and we had adequate facilities on our boat to last a week, so it was not a bother to us.
These guys are the best! Got us in when we had a saildrive failure. Lined up to have a bottom job as well while boat was hauled for the saildrive changeout. Did what they said when they said they woukd do it! Uncommon these days! Ricardo runs a great boat yard and Tim (oversaw the work) was fantastic to work with! Cant say enough good about these guys!

Everyone did an excellent job! From management down to the guys sanding. Boat was lifted on time, work completed on time and the boat launched on time. Highly recommend this yard especially if you have a catamaran.

Ricardo and his crew could not have been easier to work with. They handled my 26 ft beam with ease. Materials needed for painting the bottom of Honu were on hand and every effort was made to assist and keep my time on the rock as short as possible. I highly recommend Key Largo Boatyard and Storage.
Be prepared to actually be pleased with professional service, receive what you ask at a honest price. Our 24 passenger, 37’ x 22’ Curt Hughes Wood/Epoxy Aux Sailing Catamaran the ‘CAROLINA MOOM’ had its 2 year hull USCG inspection and bottom painting done in rapid time. Including a fiberglass crossbar repair done by their on premises contractor.
Couldn’t be more pleased with their quality work including their haul out crew.

Wow! If you’ve read reviews of this facility you should completely disregard anything older than late 2023. Ricardo took over and runs an excellent facility. He made our stay here as pleasant as a boatyard stay can be! We did all of our own work, but the staff would stop by and offer tips any time they saw us working. Ricardo sourced parts for us and had them there quickly. We were able to maintain a two week timeline to accomplish a lot of work thanks to them! We did live aboard while here. There is a gas station with a convenience store directly across the street. Everything else is a short Uber ride away. I will absolutely return to see Ricardo for our next haul! Thanks Ricardo & Team!
DO NOT CONTACT. WANTED MY BOAT REMOVED TO BE INSPECTED AND HE TRIED SCAMMING ME OUT OF 10K AVOID AVOID AVOID. OWNER CALLED BACK TO CONTINUE SCREAMING AND CURSING AT ME AFTER TRYING TO REGAIN MY BUSINESS AND BEING TURNED DOWN. IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNERS CLAIMS, HE NEVER ASKED ME IF I EVEN WANTED THE BOAT SERVICED OR WORKED ON. AFTER SAYING I WANTED AN ESTIMATION HE IMMEADIATELY DEMANDED A 10K DEPOSIT. I BOUGHT THE BOAT WITH THE ANTICIPATION OF INVESTING 20K IN IT IF IT NEEDED THE ENGINES REPLACED. NONE OF THIS WAS ASKED. THE BOAT DOES NOT HAVE SEVERAL ISSUES, IT IS NOT ON SHORE POWER AND IM LOCATED MULTIPLE STATES AWAY SO THE BATTERIES HAVE DIED, ONE ENGINE IS FREE THE OTHER IM NOT SURE OF AS THEY WERE TOLD. OTHER THAN THAT IT JUST NEEDS ENGINE SERVICE. THE BOAT IS WELL KEPT AND NO SOME JUNK BEING HAULED IN. THE OWNER IS THE ONE WHO CALLED ME BACK TO YELL AT ME, I NEED NOT FURTHER INQURE ON USING THEIR SERVICE, SO IM NOT SURE WHY HE CALLED JUST TO CURSE ME OUT. MY BOAT IS ALSO CURRENTLY DOCKED ON THE WATER SO IM NOT SURE WHY I'D GO THROUGH ALL THE TROUBLE OF GETTING IT MOVED OVER THERE AND INSPECTED WHEN I COULD JUST LET IT SIT WHERE IT IS? I WOULDNT TRUST THIS GUY WITH A $100 DEPOSIT LET ALONE $10K.
Scheduled a bottom job on our Manta catamaran over the 4th of July weekend.
Other than the sketchy entrance (ONLY come in at high tide!!) everything went smoothly.
Ricardo is a great guy to work with, and pretty hilarious to talk to!
Just a maintenance haul out. I was very pleased with the complete team . They worked together to make our out of the water stay comfortable. The yard manager is on site, so I felt very safe. There are big plans for the future in improvements. The only thing that is hard to deal with is the tide. One can only get in and out at high tide. But that's part of the improvements . I would highly suggest you give this yard a try.
We had a bottom job and propspeed done. They did a great job and the preparation for the propspeed was excellent. They took great care to not damage our wrap when going back into the water. There is definitely a big difference from the last owners to this owner. The yard is much cleaner and the prices are where they should be. I will definitely be bringing out 51 leopard back next year for another bottom job.
Great place for service and storage, would highly recommend Ricardo was very helpfull and very knowledgable when it came to storage and fixing issues on my sailboat.
