Travel here for a conference. On the way to Jacksonville I unfortunately hit a tire in the road, that left my dust pan hanging off the bottom of my car. I called and they said they would fix it right away. When I got there it took them less than 5 minutes to fix it. These guys are the best!
I had a great experience at Maxis Auto Repair and was genuinely pleased with the service they provided on my car. From the moment I arrived, the staff was professional, knowledgeable, and made sure I understood exactly what work needed to be done. They were honest about the repairs, communicated clearly throughout the process, and completed the service in a timely manner. My car ran noticeably better after the work was finished, and I felt confident knowing it was handled with care and attention to detail. Overall, Maxis delivered reliable, high-quality service, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy auto repair.
Went in with a high mileage truck. Told them water pump was bad I was in this area and I wanted it replaced said they still needed to do an inspection and test, 170+ tax. Then called to tell me a complete water pump replacement and thermostat was 1700 dollars. Pretty much 2 grand out the door. For a water pump. I left and did it at home.
Nick, Brandon, Corey, and the other guys that I forgot to ask the names of were all so patient and kind. They make the customer feel so at home and go the extra mile to make sure that we are accommodated in every way. If your life is temporarily in shambles due to car problems, I highly recommend going to Maxi, these guys will taking amazing care of you and your vehicle. Love yall
I brought my vehicle in with a long list of things that needed to be done. Some would be considered major. They were able to get all the stuff repaired and get my vehicle back to me in a day. We’ll definitely be using again when needed.
Great experience overall. Service was excellent and pricing was transparent and fair. I came in with a pretty vague issue and even mentioned that I thought it might be the transmission. The tech hopped in the car, drove it, and immediately said, “Nope — that’s a wheel bearing,” which was reassuring.(with some extra tests while I was gone it was the issue)
They had everything diagnosed and fixed the same day, and I honestly haven’t heard my car run this quiet in years. Really appreciated the straightforward communication and quick turnaround. Would definitely come back. And would recommend it to anyone that asks
Our company took a vehicle to Maxi’s mechanic shop to repair some engine trouble and clear the dashboard. However, before it was taken there, we added Cadillac converter cleaner, not knowing this would fix the problem but not clear the dashboard. Here’s to integrity in the car mechanic business: We were told that the problem had been fixed and that they only needed to clear the dashboard. We took the car for a test drive to show that the problem was gone. The car was checked out for free. The professionalism was through the roof. Customer services was unmatched from any other mechanic services I’ve ever had done in 45 years. Trustworthy should be their slogan. If you are looking for a mechanic business you can trust and depend on “Go see them, you will not be disappointed”
A company that you can trust. I was so impressed with the entire staff. I brought vehicle in to be checked but I had already fixed the problem unknowingly. Instead of taking my money. They called and told me. I was greatful for their honesty.
I came to Maxi Auto to address an oil leak. Dealing with other mechanics in the Jax area, I was definitely nervous about communication and understanding/diagnosing the problem. From the get-go, Nick was very transparent about the process, and let me know the steps they would take to remedy the leak. It turned out that my 10 year old vehicle was in need of some new parts. Anyone knows that in this situation, it’s definitely a financial investment. That being said, due to the amazing communication and documentation from Nick and Brandon, their diligence and made it an easy choice to commit to the cost of the repairs. My car is now running great and the issue is resolved, and I am hopeful that I’ve found a trustworthy and reliable shop that takes the time to truly fix the problem.
Given all of this was right around the holidays, I am thankful for their communication and turnaround.
Nick was really patient explaining everything that was wrong with my dad’s car and even got on a 3 way call with my husband to better explain. The repairs were extensive but they were able to advise us on what it was needed the most so we could chose a course of action that fit our situation. Thank you Nick!
I paid $200 for an AC diagnostic after my system started blowing hot and was told my compressor had failed. They quoted about $2600 to replace the entire AC system. I took my car to two other shops which both (after $30 diagnostics) said the compressor is fine. Maxis was unfazed by this and smack talked the other shops. One of those shops found a refrigerant leak that Maxis missed and did the needed work for about $1100. Some time later, I called Maxis to let them know about the leak they missed and to see if they’d offer to refund me for their misdiagnosis. They stood by the original diagnosis and said that they’d be eventually proven right—maybe in a month, maybe six months, the AC would quit again due to the bad compressor. Out of fairness to them, I’ve waited 15 months to write this review. The AC is still blowing as icy as ever.
Edit to add: I appreciate Maxis detailed records. Fundamentally, we remain at an impasse: they maintain there was no reparable leak that would have fixed my issue without replacing the compressor. Yet the issue was in reality fixed by addressing the leak without replacing the compressor.
I dropped my car off for an oil change and tire rotation and was surprised by how straightforward and kind the employees were. No nonsense or haggling. They sent a detailed inspection of my vehicle for me to review, and made recommendations on what other items need attention and service. No pushy sales gimmick, just a recommendation with pictures and proof to back it up. Exactly what your local mechanic should be.
I bet I will never again go to another mechanic repair shop listennnn!!! Or an engine or transmission place because Maxis took a year and a half problem and fixed it within 24-48 hours I was so amazed when I got back inside my truck and it still had a lot of life !! I love this !
A very busy place comes highly recommended, I'm pleased with the service I recieved. Very pricey for basic services paid 150 for an oil change and was quoted nearly something like 700 for spark plugs. I'm not a fan of the mandatory vehicle inspection prior to service i feel that should be optional it was helpful though. I feel the price reflects service recieved, i will be doing my own oil changes for now on though.
I took my car in for an electronic diagnostic cause I was having issues I was quoted $170 and told told them I have to have my car by monday for work. I dropped it off on a Thursday morning at 7:30. Monday came no word from them about my car. I called 3 times about it by the end of the day Tuesday I get a message my car is done and the price for the diagnostic is almost $400. It had to wait til payday that Friday to pick it up so I sent my husband to get my car. Then come to find out i have no pressure in my clutch pedal and they are denying all responsibilities when it comes to fixing my clutch. I had to tow my car home from their shop. I do not recommend them and their professional abilities. There is nothing professional about this place.
Highly recommend. All the people there are car people, so chatting with them about that really gave me peace of mind, with great vibes too.
They are very transparent with what they are doing and the paid inspection/estimate is completely worth it. They have a very comprehensive process with pictures and evidence of inspection that you can see and understand why or why not you should repair something or not. They were not pushy at all with things I needed to repair, and gave me a choice on if I wanted them to do it or not.
I came in mainly for a clutch repair and I left with a repaired clutch, felt like it was brand new car. I had some other stuff done as well and after all the work, my car felt brand new, with no problems in it whatsoever.
Their estimated completion time was on point too, so I didn’t have to reschedule any rides or PTO. Their pricing is very fair and close to book hours. I am gladly paying for the expertise and established process. This wasn’t anything I wanted to take shortcuts with or have a McGuyver solution for this service.
Overall this shop has great vibes and great work. Will definitely take my car there next time I need work done that I can’t do myself.
Always super sweet people when I come in and they only recommend fixes on your car if it really is necessary and give a good time stamp on things that aren’t urgent but will need to be taken care of in the near future. They send you a detailed review with pictures of your car before they call and offer free Ubers home and a reward system. Thank you everyone at Maxi!

Nick and Brandon at Maxi are the absolute best. I’ve been taking my cars there for years. They are just so helpful. They email and print pictures, give reasonable timelines and prioritize work so you can budget appropriately. They are honest and always so helpful. Best car place in town!
Mechanic did great job diagnosing and finding out what the issue was with my vehicle. It was a little wait but i can for sure you they do clean professional work. Go check them out if u need something done correctly.
Best experience with an auto repair shop ever. I have a 2015 Jeep renegade, and it was difficult to find a non-dealership local shop to help with major repair.The folks at Maxi were very informative and made sure to keep me in ln the loop with everything during the process. They sourced parts, and delivered excellent and fast service at a reasonable price. I will continue to get regular maintenance here going forward and recommending to all my people to do the same! 10/10
Discovered them this morning in a search to get my battery replaced. A few other places quoted me similar numbers. Saw Maxi's on the map and ran by on a whim to see if they could do it. Not only did they get me in right then and there, but the quote was $100 LESS, then every other place i tried. (European cars, right?) My car had a new battery within 5 hours and i was on my merry way. They asked if i wanted a health inspection for my car. When i declined they took no for an answer and respected that. Pushy sales people are the bane of my existence (especially in car repair) and they were nowhere near that. Will definitely be taking not only my car back here, but my girlfriend's as well. Had a nail in my tire, they were able to see me within a few hours of calling. The tire I needed was hanging on the wall behind reception. They pulled it down and immediately replaced my tire. Was in and out in about 20 minutes. Didn’t try to upsell me on anything. Fair price for one new tire with labor -$130. Will be back , thank you Brandon
Two stars because staff was “friendly” throughout the process. I brought my car in for 3 different concerns (ABS light, check engine light and oil leak), understanding that this was too much to accomplish in one shop visit I was assured that for a diagnostic fee of $195 they would be able to look into two out of the three issues. I was also assured that I would get my car back same day since I dropped it off mid morning. 5 hours go by and I get a call saying they are just starting to inspect it and I now have to choose one out of the three problems to get inspected since it’s going be too time consuming to look at both. Also, if I wanted both issues addressed that day I would have to pay an additional $195. This was not what was agreed upon when dropping off the car but okay. Another couple of hours goes by and I get another call explaining the problem is too time intensive to diagnose with a single diagnostic fee which apparently only covers one hour of labor (not outlined anywhere in the contract or verbally). At this point my car has been there all day, it’s closing time and I’m being told that I paid $195 and may not even have a diagnosis for one out of the three problems I have. After a lot of going back and forth the shop agrees to continue to diagnose the problem the next day and I still have to leave my car overnight which was not initially agreed upon. To be fair, the shop representative agreed to stay after hours so that I may pick up my car but I would still have to pay the $195 and have no answer to my problem. The next day I get a call saying they “believe” they found the problem and the repair would cost $200, which is equal to their hourly rate. However, to confirm the problem they suggested an additional 3 hours of diagnostics that would cost $195 per hour. Going with the further diagnostic option would cost a total of $780 in diagnostic fees alone and would not cover repairs so I opted for the $200 probable repair option. Again, I was assured this would be completed by end of day and if it wasn’t I would get a call explaining that it would take longer and to bring it back another day. When I arrive to the shop at 5:30 (closing time) they are still not finished with the car and I end up waiting at the shop for another 90 minutes only for them to tell me the repair they tried did not work. They agreed to drop the $200 repair fee and offered for me to bring it in the following business day where I would “only” have to pay an additional $85 in diagnostics for the first half hour of labor. In the end, the shop did love to express how they invested more than the allotted hour of time into my car but I still walked away paying the $195 diagnostic fee with no diagnosis to any of the issues why I brought my car in. Overall, due to the poor communication, delays, lack of results and unexpected potential costs I will not be retuning and recommend others to look for another mechanic.
Nick, Brandon & the team were amazing & completely transparent with the issues going on with my Jeep Compass! The issues were diagnosed quickly & repaired within 3 business days, one of the parts had to come from the west coast because of the car model, it was no fault of Maxie’s’. I cannot express enough, as a single woman, how trustworthy & honest this team is! Highly knowledgeable & very competent. The photos & documentation sent to me via text, showing the level of detail done on my Jeep is why I will be a customer for life. They are also the kindest! Thank you so much Maxies!
Brandon and Sean did an amazing job keeping me updated through my repair process. They shared with me photos and descriptions of the issue through, what I like to call, the internet. They kept me up to date, and were able to complete the service within the same day. I highly encourage anyone who is looking for a great mechanic, to definitely consider Maxi!
The guys at the Maxi Riverside shop were professional and knowledgeable, and were able to resolve an electrical issue with the airbag system in my car that other shops hadn't fixed. The cost was a bit more than expected but took care of the problem so the airbag system is working properly now. They were great about communicating by phone and text to give updates on the status of the repair and when the car was ready for pickup, and sent a report with photos of the mechanic working on the car. Also arranged an Uber ride to get home and back to the shop, which was very helpful. Overall a positive experience, the shop seems well run and they appear to want to do a good job for their customers.
I cannot recommend this place enough. I just can’t. I’m from Colorado on vacation and my motor died. Had car towed here and given the bad news. Decided to junk car and when I went in to clean it out the young men inside, Jose and Chris went above and beyond to help me. Comforted me when I fell apart and listened with care and concern. If you need a good auto repair place, you won’t go wrong using Maxi. It is Veteran owned and operated and was one big factor in deciding to use them in the first place. I am not disappointed!
We broke down on the 95 on our way to Miami on a Sunday morning. Looked online for a repair shop and called Maxi on Monday morning. Spoke to Daniel and he was very helpful. He understood that we were on vacation and he put a priority on our repair. They got the car early Tuesday and they had it fixed by noon! I highly recommend them if you need anything done on your car. We thought it was the fuel pump but the mechanic was sceptical. Turns out he was right! They did a thorough check up of our car to make sure everything else was fine. Very much appreciated!
